What came first the chicken or the egg?

Obviously the chicken, but lets get to the team!

Azelf @Focus Sash
Naive
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Psychic
Explosion
Fire blast
Stealth Rock

Azelfs real niche is to deal fast damage and lay down some rocks. Since this lead is ever so common I really dont need to go indepth do I?

Synergy: Azelf is my lead, and if used right can cripple atleast one pokemon. I might replace him with a scarf gar if I cannot get him to be used right. Rocks can do some nice damage and give me a free turn if theyre desperate to spin it out.

Scizor@Life Orb
Adamant
Technician
252 attk 232 speed 24 def

Sword dance
Bulltet Punch
Super Power
Pursuit

Scizor has somehow transformed from underdog to superstar. With a sword dance bullet punch is bound to hit some poor soul for massive damage and im counting on him to deal with gliscor. He also has been a fan favorite of mine so im glad he finally has a niche recognizable.

Synergy: Scizor can take any attack azelf is weak too and threaten to either dance or deal massive damage with a pursuit. He can also feel right at home with sandstorms that tend to mess up my zelfs strategy of suicide.

Heatarn@Choice scarf
Modest
20 hp 236 Spe 252 SpAttk

Fire blast
Earth Power
Hidden Power Ice
Explosion

Complete synergy with scizor or almost as good as the dos/vire teamwork.I might consider using Naive to beat skymin, but popular speculations state skymins going straight to Ubers so I might not bother. Hp grass might be used to help deal with waters and swampert that completely wall me.

Synergy: Complete synergy with scizor and can deal with threats and do some damage at the same time. Also helps with opposing scizors that can be a handful to take down.

Dugtrio@ Choice Band
Jolly
252 attk 252 spd 4 hp

Earthquake
Stone edge
Sucker Punch
Aerial Ace

Revenge kills so many threats its not even funny. Deals with nape, tyranitar, heracross with no sub, and maybe Heatarn that somehow survives my gengars antilead strategy. My friend says that if you use band night slash is the better choice, but I kinda like priority attacks...is he correct?

Synergy: Basically the trashman who deals with unfinished business. Can deal with many threats and is so friggin awesome becase it looks so harmless.

Vaporeon @Leftovers
bold
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA

~Wish
~Surf
~Hp-electric
~Ice beam

To be honest, I hate vaporen but I love wishpassers. My pokes are bulky, but bulky is far from invincible. He can deal with my nape problem so and makes my bulkys last alot longer. Also deals with gyrados suprisingly well which is a nice plus. Id love to replace it with protect to help stall but a gyrados counter is might useful in these troubled times

Synergy: Hes the medic in my little squad. Has suprisingly good Spattk so his attack may make you get more then just a little...damp. Wish has saved me in many battles also.

Salamence @Lifeorb
Adamant
120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe

~Dragon Dance
~Fire Blast
~Dragon Claw/Outrage
~Earthquake

Basically my very late game sweeper. I dont like to bring him out unless my pokes manage to kill an enemy gliscor or atleast cripple him, but if rocks are down he can still do major damage. Scizor has a tendency to leave a real dent, so I like to think of salamence as a "finisher" of sorts.

Synergy: From Azelf to heatarn there is alot of synergy. One of heatarns massive weakenesses is earthquake, so I thought a pokemon that could be immune to it, plus do major damage, was a must so I replaced lucario with salamence

Conclusions: I was pleasently suprised when I found out my pokemon actually has a super lot of resistances (check marriland team builder.) however, im still completely inexperienced with metagame, so I mightve missed some major threats, so please spare me if I made a huge mistake, for I did the best I could

Replace Iron Head for Superpower on Scizor. Its his only way to deal with Heatrans after your Heatran is down. Make your Scarftran Modest. It gives it more power. Use Hidden Power Ice, as its your only way to hit Mence without sacrificing itself with Explosion. Dugtrio looks standard, though if you want to hit Ghosts harder (That aren't switching out) use Night Slash, because it also has a nice critcal hit ratio. Vaporeon looks standard, nothing unusual about it. Lucario is yet another standard...

Synergy Comments:
Your team is well-built and has little weaknesses. From what I observed, your team is a little weak to opposing Timid Scarftrans. It takes out Scizor with Fire Blast /Overheat. It outspeeds your Scarftran and takes it out with Earth Power. Takes down Lucario with Earth Power or Fire Blast / Overheat. You can revenge kill it with Dugtrio, but watch out for switches into Flying-types or Levitating Pokemon.

Concluding Comments:
Pretty well built team. Good luck with the rest of the team building.

Final Rating: 8.5 / 10 - Good

I think Scarf on Dugtrio is the better choice because you could Stone Edge or Rock Slide Skymin and Salamence after 1 DD ( of course you need to revenge kill both). Also, so many Heatrans, and maybe even Heracross, are Scarfed now. I dunno why I haven't seen any Jolteon's in Platinum yet, but it kills that too.

This is probably a less important reason, but the Scarf version also allows you to have 120 spare EVs to invest in HP/Def/SpD, which somewhat increases your chance to barely survive a Bullet Punch or Extreme Speed or Ice Shard from an enemy on low health and revenge kill.

P.S. Could someone please quickly explain to me if they have any idea why Jolteon usage has dropped or at least not increased? Cause with HP Ice it could revenge kill Skymin, and still do everything it has been doing.

Hmm, nice, maybe go for wish/protect and surf/Hp electric on vaporeon. Better coverage, and more gauranteed survivability. Without protect, you can easily be 2HKOd and not be able to do anything about. For azelf, you might want to try a taunt/trickscarf lead, because you see a lot of leads that can set up sr and eerything, and taunting them will completely screw up their strategy. Try this set:

Hasty Azelf @ Lum Berry
6 Hp/200 Atk/252 Spe
-Explosion
-Taunt
-Stealth Rock
-Fire Blast/Pyschic

Taunt the lead, which can completely screw over some. Most likely they will switch, due to the fact that many leads are just meant to set up as opposed to hit hard. Stealth Rock on the switch, then explode/fire blast/psychic whatever comes in. If played correctly, can set up rocks and take down two. (Rocks, KOs lead, Explodes on next thing that coems in)

And, about the Jolteon usage, its somewhat fragile, so with all the new speed priority moves, it wont last long. Somewhat outclassed by raikou durability-wise too, however not as good of a revenge killer.

Dizzle Im considering chainging vaporeons moves, but whats refraining me is icebeam seems pretty important to stop dragons with...should I still do it?

The egg first! Dinosaurs (and hence their eggs) came way before chickens!

I really don't like Superpower on Scizor, you're basically lowering his 2 best stats in one move. Sword Dancing then using Superpower is counter productive, and there's not much that you would use Superpower on that appreciates Brick Break anyway.

Azelf would appreciate Taunt over Psychic since it'll stop slower leads from setting up their own Rocks. If you do that, the only things who can use Stealth Rock correctly become Aerodactyl, Deoxys-S and Fake Out users.

Haha, thats a good answer, ill remember that for my philosophy class. The only problem with replacing psychic is that ill have no way to stop oppossing gengar leads. Im considering replacin rocks with taunt, since nuthin on my team can block a rapid spinner anyways..or maybe take fireblast, but then bronzong may become a huge problem....your thoughts?
