Made this team today. Had mixed results but I've won more games than lost. Currently think I need to swap out a wall for another sweeper or damage dealer but can't think who. Let me know what you think needs improving.
Mawile (F) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Protect
Pretty standard physical attacker set who forms the main offensive presence on my team. Play Rough/Iron Head provides STAB and helps me deal with a spectrum of threats including Tyrantitar, Clefable, Togekiss, Conkeldurr and a ton of others. Sucker Punch for priority, hitting all forms of Aegislash hard and making any Ghost or Psychic types run for their life.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
My go to counter for Talonflame. Cripples a ton of physical attackers and can pivot out whenever it wants with Volt Switch. Hydro Pump is for STAB and hitting Ground types most usefully Excadrill switch ins predicting VS. Pain Split keeps it alive along with Leftovers. The synergy this thing has with Garchomp and Skamory is significant too, covering a lot of their checks and counters.
Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 SpA / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Fire Blast
Standard mixed scarf. Mainly functions as a revenge killer but can be a great opener against normally faster threats who think they can kill it, such as LO Greninja. Fire Blast is there to actually have something versus Ferrothorn and bulky Scizor sets.
Skarmory (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Defog
- Roost
Standard support moveset but with a mixed wall EV spread. Allows Skarmory to take loads of resisted special attacks, more often than not grass moves to cover Tyranitar and Rotom. Also allows it to come in very safely on Latios and Latias, resisting both Draco Meteor and Psyshock well.
Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
More walling! Mainly here to cover wall Aegislash but also checks Heatran well, who otherwise is a problem for this team. Stone Edge hits flyers and is my offensive choice versus fairies who aren't Mawile. Crunch hits everything not Dark or Fairy but also the aforementioned Aegislash. EQ for Heatran, Terrakions who switch in and other Tyranitars amongst others.
Aegislash (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
All out attacker. Along with Mawile, the job of this is simple. Kill or seriously dent anything it can before it has to switch out to one of the main walls available. Shadow Ball is the main move to use, hitting almost everything that doesn't resist for major damage. Flash Cannon is a second STAB move covering fairies well and sheds physically defensive Tyranintars who can tank Sacred Swords. Shadow Sneak for priority to finish off weakened foes and Sacred Sword hits Normals like Chansey and Blissey who would otherwise wall me.
