Just today I had 3 Wi-Fi battles all different people, all using Heracross and I was using my Elekible

Elekible@ Expert Belt
Trait: Motor Drive
Nature: Lonely
EVs: 200 Atk / 174 Spd / 132 SAtk

- Thunder Bolt
- Earthquake
- Cross Chop
- Ice Punch

Damage Calculations:

Heracross - Adamant w/ Choice Band
Regular: 131.58% ~ 154.62%
Critical: 254.46% ~ 299.02%

In 3 matches straight, Eleckible landed an OHKO on an Heracross. Is this unusual? 2 Regular hits and 1 critical. This has never happend to me before.
 
I'm assuming you mean Electivire. Had these Heracross' been using Close Combat by any chance? Defense drops would allow him to KO Hera.
 
Yes forgot to mention while I was testing out on Critical Hits Versions the Heracross was using Close Combat only on the regular testings, he wasn't using any thing.. Elekible = Electivire. I'm more used to the Japanese names for I used to live there and wacthed tha anime. Thunder Bolt was doing the highest of the damage. Is this akward? Or is my Elekible special? lol.
 
i think you are just underistimating what defence drops do. after 1 defence stage you may be able to ohko but after 2 you are almost guarenteed.
 
You do 1.5x the damage to the opponent after a single close combat. After 2 close combats, you do 2x the damage (the same as hitting them super effective).

Close combat really screws your defense over.
