When in doubt, EXPLODE

This is a theme team that I'm making. It doesn't always win, but when it does it is through hilarious means. Please critique.

Electrode@Silk Scarf
Soundproof
Hasty- 216 ATK, 216 SPD, 76 SP.ATK
Thunderbolt
Substitute
Screech
Explosion

My lead. Like most of my team, he explodes. Before he does, however, he subs up to dodge sleep leads, lowers defenses with Screech, and attacks if necessary with Thunderbolt.

442.png

Bronzong@Leftovers
Levitate
Relaxed- 252 HP, 152 ATK, 106 SP.DEF
Stealth Rock
Light Screen
Gyro Ball
Explosion

Comes in after Electrode explodes. Very sturdy and hard to kill; takes advantage of the time to set up Light Screen and Stealth Rock, then explode. He can also attack with Gyro Ball.

Metagross@Choice Band
Clear Body
Adamant- 252 HP, 246 ATK, 12 DEF
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Bullet Punch
Explosion

CBGross. Hits stuff hard with his STAB attacks and EQ, and is nearly guaranteed to kill something with Explosion. Can finish off weakened opponents with Bullet Punch.

Heatran@Choice Specs
Flash Fire
Modest- 252 SP.ATK, 204 SPD, 52 HP
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Dragon Pulse
Explosion

Metagross's special attacking counterpart, and fire attack absorber. Hits very hard with Fire Blast. Explodes.

110.png

Weezing@Black Sludge
Levitate
Relaxed- 252 HP, 64 ATK, 192 DEF
Thunderbolt
Will-o-Wisp
Flamethrower
Explosion

Physical wall, and general annoyer. When his role has been served, he explodes.

453.png

Lucario@Life Orb
Steadfast
Adamant- 252 SPD, 252 ATK, 4 HP
Close Combat
Extremespeed
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance

SDcario. Besides being the only member of the team that does not explode, he hits things hard with Close Combat and finished off weakened opponents with his priority moves.

Being considered:

Tyranitar@Choice Band
Sand Stream
Adamant- 60 HP, 252 ATK, 196 SPD
Crunch
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Pursuit

Suggested as a way to deal with Ghosts. I'm not sure who to replace it with- Lucario? Metagross? Dunno.

That's the team. I am completely open to suggestions, but I am keeping the Explosion theme, so keep that in mind.

I would take Pain Split off Weezing in favor of Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, or Fire Blast. Having a recovery (kinda) move and Explosion is contradicting and I would prefer having one more move to deal some damage out before Exploding.

I would consider Magnezone, who can trap the steel types who might be switching in on predicted Explosions, and can explode himself.

Also, yeah, you really need a way to deal with ghosts. Try something with Pursuit perhaps, like a Self Destructing Snorlax, or CB Weavile.

I have an explosion team aswell that works fairly well, but protect pokemon do pose a problem.

As tangerine said, you need a pursuiter, on my team i put Tyranitar, you're pokemon don't stay around long enough for it to be a major hindrance, and you have 4 steels anyway.
Also his SS is a helpful way of killing off certain pokemon with focus sash, as Zong isn't your lead so SR won't always be in play.

I just wanted to point out that SelfDestruct+Pursuit on Snorlax is illegal.

Right, there was that silly limitation.

In which case you can use TTar to Pursuit Ghosts and perhaps screw over Focus Sashers that might survive the Explosions!

I don't really like screech on electrode. It'll just force a switch and it isn't like electrode can do much working on a lower defense, considering it has special attacks.

Well, electrode's attack is so low that he really needs Screech to kill anything with Explosion. Plus screech comes in handy for powering up the other's explosions. Usually I don't explode the turn immediately after using Screech because the opponent may switch in a ghost.

@Pursuit user... Perhaps Metagross can do the job? He does learn Pursuit, and it will still be reasonably powerful coming from his attack stat and Choice Band.

Sandstorm certainly is a potential asset to this team. So far I've mainly been using Lucario to finish off focus sashers but that could save me a lot of effort.

If Heatran uses Fire Blast on an incoming Heatran... you have to sacrifice something, guaranteed. Only one fire resist, but three fire weak if just asking for it.

Problem, there are very few Fire-resisting exploders that are actually any good. Heatran is like the only one. I suppose that's one reason to include Tyranitar

I could replace Heatran's choice item with something... non-choice (life Orb or whatever), and increase his speed EVs. That way, he could likely handle any non-scarfed Heatran switchins.

If I do add Tyranitar, what member of my team would you say is the most replaceable? I'm not really sure which one I can safely take out.

Is there any reason why Electrode has both Substitute and a Focus Sash? I would probably replace Sash with Life Orb, Silk Scarf, or Lum Berry (so you can get rid of Substitute).

I agree with getting rid of Electrode for T tar.

Definitely switch Heatran's item so he can hopefully help handle opposing Heatran, because the team as is right now can not handle him in any way.

It's a shame that Electrode appears to be the least useful, because during playtesting on Shoddy I've been really liking him.

But, as per suggestions, I'll try T-Tar in his spot. Too lazy to edit the post right now, will do it later.
