Hello again smogonites!

(i call it "counter sweep" btw)

Purrloin (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 196 Atk / 88 Def / 220 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Encore

This thing is a monster. hands down. it makes an amazing lead due to its ability to lock the foe into an entry hazard move or other passive moves that leads run. it can also prevent sweeps with t-wave and then follow up with knock off or sucker punch. even at low HP it can still perform its function and it almost always gets at least 1 KO a match.

Spritzee (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Aroma Veil
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 212 HP / 196 Def / 12 SpA / 76 SpD / 12 Spe
bold
Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Wish
- Substitute
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy

Despite how good i made purrloin sound, it gets forced out easily by fighting types. in fact, the whole team doesnt really switch in to fighting types (both tenta and fletch are pretty frail). so the next obvious member is spritzee! this spritzee is pretty standard except for the fact that instead of protect i have substitute. the reason for this is because i usually bring spritzee directly into fighting types and what better move to use than sub against a retreating fighter!

Onix (M) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 76 HP / 236 Atk / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Tail
- stealth rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast

Kinda a new addition but strong nonetheless. the roll of onix is to check powerful normal types and the dreaded fletchling! very standard onix otherwise but no stealth rock and rock blast rather than stone edge or rock slide. the reason i chose rock blast was because its kinda the middle ground between the two, its average power is 75 just like rock slide but can really save you in a pinch. sometimes i even lead with onix over purrloin just to get the OHKO on frail focus sash leads.

Fletchling (F)
Ability: Gale Wings
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 156 HP / 196 Atk / 92 Def / 52 SpD / 12 Spe
adamant
Nature
- Acrobatics
- Overheat
- Roost
- Swords Dance

This mon is broken (although without it all fighting types would run rampant) if you cant beat em' join em' this fletchling is kinda the ace in the hole for sweeping teams (along with diglett) i dont run an item because i really dislike not having that power right off the bat (also a weaker knock off is nice). i decided to run a bulkier spread to make up for the berry juice. i dont feel i need speed because im basically just gunna spam acrobatics and the only thing i have ever used over heat on is ferroseed so no big loss (i usually kill pawniard with diglett)

49424-1da71405a7ece511895691c6cc1e8856.jpg

Diglett (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Sucker Punch
- memento

Man im gonna miss diglett... diglett is the glue to the team and is able to take out most of the biggest threats such as pawniard with relative ease and despite his tiny stature actually hits pretty hard. i chose focus sash over life orb because it gives me some breathing room without worrying that a cobweb is going to take diglett out. not to mention getting off two hits is often better than one life orb boosted one and if i kill a threat with diglett i can set rocks with my last hit point.

49430-976c748bd6bcb5201eac5fa96606c8f2.jpg

Tentacool (M) @ Eviolite
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 112 Def / 196 SpA / 196 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Giga Drain

Now looking at the remaining 5 pokes you may notice that my team is weak to strong water types and especially hazards. (1 SR weak mon, 1 sturdy juice mon and 2 focus sashers) so i wanted to pick a pokemon that could spin and take a water hit or three. Tentacool was a clear choice. not only does it reach a nice 17 speed but it also gets giga drain and rapid spin! also other peoples ground mons (including digletts) dont want to switch in fearing scald! basically a perfect fit for the team.

Staryu @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 76 Def / 196 SpA / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Scald
- Thunderbolt

this will replace tentacool. Its faster and better in most situations and i cant believe i didnt think of it (its my avatar picture even!) tbolt over icebeam because i dont want to be walled by other waters.

and thats that! i cant wait to hear your criticisms in the comments!

bye all!... and please be gentle...

Heya ATGNAT!
Before I get on rating, I would better comment on some not so sastifactory EV spreads that you are using on each Pokemon, I'll bring explanation wherever I feel it's needed
Spritzee
212 HP / 196 Def / 12 SpA / 76 SpD / 12 Spe Yourself said you are using Spritzee to check Fighting-types and as such, a physically defensive spread is better for that. Bold nature should also be run here, so you reach an even number.
Onix
76 HP / 236 Atk / 196 Spe Investing in HP is better, as BJ still recovers all your HP when Onix activate Sturdy anyway
Fletchling
156 HP / 200 Atk / 40 SpA / 20 Spe - use this one if you still want to let Fletchling be bulky, remember investing in HP is usually better to tank hits from both sides OR if you prefer outspeeding Magnemite;
76 HP 200 Atk 12 Def 40 SpA 180 Spe - remember both spreads already grant Fletchling max attack. Note these spreads should be run only if you still want to run Overheat (I'll get on that)
Now to the rate; while your team uses Fletch + Dig infamous combo, neither Fletchling, nor any teammate has VoltTurn, which means it's quite tough for your team to trap any of Fletchling's switch-ins with Diglett. As such, I would recommend running U-turn > Overheat on Fletchling with the following optimized EV spread.
Fletchling
Level: 5
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 156 HP / 196 Atk / 92 Def / 52 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Swords Dance
- Roost
The point of having Diglett as a Fletchling's teammate after all, is that you don't need to run coverage in other to deal with Fletchling's checks (Pawniard, Magnemite, etc) so U-turn will overall be much more benefical to your team.
On Diglett, unfortunately, he is not a very good Stealth Rock setter, and he would much better be trying to support your main win-condition (Fletchling) even more. For that I would reccommend running
Life Orb Diglett, which gives you more room to deal against Pawniard which you are weak to, as nothing can really switch in on it. Life Orb Diglett is granted to have no problems against Eviolie Pawniard, which its most common set, while Sash isn't able to one-shot Eviolite Pawniard. Substitute makes it that you are able to deal with Sucker Punch.
Diglett @ Life Orb
Level: 5
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Substitute
- Sucker Punch
For a Stealth Rock Setter, I would suggest then Pawniard > Onix. Pawniard still allows you to check Fletchling while having something to deal against Snubbul which again, causes some trouble to your team and acts as a soft check to your own Fletchling. Then really, Pawniard as rock setter is fantastic. Another reason to add Pawniard is that you have only one Knock Off user, one that is quite weak to be honest, and your team must have multiple Knock Offers in order to grant a Fletchling's sweep; as such, this is your Pawniard:
Pawniard @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 156 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
Purrloin is a great, although underrated Pokemon, but, for your team, I think Taunt Mienfoo > Purrloin would serve much better to deal with opposing leaders AND have a good synergy with your team, offering U-turn and Knock Off; yet more support to your Fletchling, forming a VoltTurn core
Mienfoo @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 196 Def / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Taunt
Although with Purrloin your team wasn't any weak to Smashers, now you have a problem against them if they happen to set up. In order to keep being able to disrupt them completely, and still have a Fighting-type check, I suggest to you Cottonee > Spritzee, which also happens to form a neat core with Tentacool, and you still have ways to use Yellow Magick on the opponent! The only thing you are losing with this change though is cleric, but if you keep Fletchling only to come when things are worned down enough, and status users are KOed, you mustn't have much of a problem with the lack of Aromatherapy.
Cottonee @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 116 HP / 196 Def / 196 SpD
Bold Nature
- Encore
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Dazzling Gleam
- Stun Spore
If you still want to run Spritzee, please do run Protect > Substitute, Wish being Spritzee's only mean of recovery, Protect is just a must-have in order to guarantee Spritzee leaves 2HKO or OHKO ranges. Hidden Power Fighting here is also a nice lure to Pawniard, a thing to keep in mind. Cottonee also helps you deal better against Water-types like Chinchou.

Well your original team, and this one so far are still fairly weak to Abra. In order to patch that a bit, I would call a Defog + U-turn Vullaby > Tentacool, which would be a set looking like this:
Vullaby @ Eviolite
Ability: Overcoat
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Def / 236 SpD / 36 Spe
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn
- Knock Off
You then may be asking, why no Brave Bird? It's because U-turn would be much better in order to synergize with Diglett; things that like to come in to Vullaby would include Electric- ,Steel-, and Rock-types, Pokemon that Diglett love to come in and trap. This Vullaby set is bulky enough to survive Focus Abra Dazzling Gleam if there are no rocks in the field, but then it's overall a nice check to it if Life Orb. Although it doesn't resist Water-types like Tentacool does, it still can tank pretty much so much more things than Tentacool, while having reliable recovery, overall making for a more consistent choice.

Phew this must've been quite a long read. Hopefully, with all these changes, you may feel like your team is much more consistent. Thanks for reading all this, and good job on your team! : D

Hi ATGNAT, nice team right there, it looks really nice, although I've noticed some flaws, especially in the EVs spreads of your Pokémons.

I always liked Purrloin as a pokémon, but it isn't good as it looks in theory, and your team seems pretty weak to Gastly and Abra, that put a ton of pressure on your team. My suggestion is Stunky over Purrloin, this will allow you to trap both Gastly and Abra without taking much damage thanks to the nice bulk and the incredible typing Stunky has. Also Flamethrower can be a nice way to lure steel types as Ferroseed for Fletch.
stunky.gif

Stunky @ Eviolite
Ability: Aftermath
Level: 5
EVs: 12 HP / 92 Atk / 60 Def / 108 SpA / 188 SpD / 4 Spe
Brave Nature
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb
Spritzee's spread is uneffective, change it to 212 HP / 196 Def / 12 SpA / 76 SpD / 12 Spe alongside a Bold Nature, this will allow you to check in a better way fighting types and some other physical attacker. Protect over Substitute will allow Spritzee to have a safer recovery thanks to the free turn it gives. Calm Mind over Aromatherapy is not a necessary change you have to do, but it can give you a nice win condition, that appreciates the help of Diglett.
spritzee.gif

Spritzee @ Eviolite
Ability: Aroma Veil
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 212 HP / 196 Def / 12 SpA / 76 SpD / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
Archen over Onix can give you a better Fletch check than Onix, as it doesn't lose to the FletchDig core, and forms a nice birdspam core with Fletchling!
archen.gif

Archen @ Berry Juice
Ability: Defeatist
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 180 Atk / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
Now that you have stealth rock on Archen, i suggest you to change the Diglett's item to Life Orb and run Substitute over Stealth Rock. LO Diglett perform his role of trapper in a better way than the sash set, as it has more power and it doesn't lose some kill that it usually should do.
diglett.gif

Diglett @ Life Orb
Ability: Arena Trap
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute
Change the Fletchling's spread to 156 HP / 196 Atk / 12 Def / 100 Spe alongside an Adamant Nature, EVs in speed are meant to outspeed other bulky fletch that only runs 20 EVs, attack is maximized to help Fletch hit harder. U-Turn over Overheat is another change you might appreciate, this will allow you bring Diglett on Rock, Electric, and Steel types safely, trapping them thanks to Arena trap.
fletchling.gif

Fletchling
Ability: Gale Wings
Level: 5
EVs: 156 HP / 196 Atk / 12 Def / 100 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Roost
- Swords Dance
Staryu over Tentacool is another change you might appreciate, Staryu over Tentacool has a better speed tier, and access to Recover, that helps him to have more longevity during the match.
staryu.gif

Staryu @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 116 HP / 156 Def / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Ice Beam / Psychic
- Recover

That's all I have, good luck with your team :D

THANK YOU!

thank you everyone for the great suggestions! I have made edits in bold.

also, fran17 i chose to keep using purloin because it is one of the main mons i started with when i chose the team and its never let me down yet. also i dont feel like i really need to trap ghastly (i have never had problems with it) also purrloin can usually 1v1 ferroseed.

thanks again everyone! you all made great contributions!
