who let the dogs out: UU balanced offense

Hello there, I'm Jordan, and I suck at pokemon (not really, but I'm still going through a learning curve after setting out all off gen five) this is my first RMT and I appreciate all critiques. The building process was inspired after I read another RMT showing the power of choice band Entei and I wanted to try it out for myself, I then begun to build around his ability to break walls...blah blah blah... Here's the team

(Will add sprites when I'm not on my phone)

Entei @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- ExtremeSpeed
- Sacred Fire
- Stone Edge
- Bulldoze

Standard choice band set except bulldoze. Bulldoze hits those rock types that would otherwise wall this set, however I'm still iffy on it since there are very few times I would need to stay in on one. Anything else it hits hard generally would take more damage from sacred fire, or gets ko'd by stone edge like chandy, nidoking, nidoqueen, raikou, etc. Regardless, Entei punches big holes and does well at cleaning up late
Game. Entei also gives my team much welcomed priority in extreme speed, picking off weakened faster threats like deo s and scarfers.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Calm Mind

Entei's bulky brother is here sporting it's most famous set. This set honestly fears nothing defensively, and is my go-to switch in most of the time. This thing tanks most physical hits and nearly every special hit after a calm mind boost. Scald is used over hydro pump because suicune is built to last and hydro pump has measly pp, and over surf due to the burns often making up for lost power. Evs are to be as bulky as possible after a boost.

Ampharos-Mega @ Ampharosite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast
- Heal Bell
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse

Megas aren't as big In uu as in ou, but mega stones by nature are great against trickers and knock off. I chose amphy due to his great bulk and giant special atk. Thunderbolt and dragon pulse for reliable stab, focus blast is there just because I didn't know what else to run, heal Bell since amphy has enough bulk to pull it off, and removing status is just a great ability in general.

Amphy has been good but, he's one of the two easily replaceable pokemon I have, and his set is the one I'm most unsure of.

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Spikes
- Destiny Bond
- Taunt

The second most replaceable member, I chose her since I needed a true lead.she functions as sort of an anti lead as well with taunt, and Destiny bond to make sure I get a ko. Focus sash guarantees at least one layer of spikes, evs are simple, be as quick as possible, then let ice beam hit hard when needed.

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Healing Wish
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock

Even though I run froslass, I still felt the need for defog, so Entei can switch in without too much fear, and latias is the strongest defogger in uu with great natural bulk and ability to hit hard and fast. Set was taken right off the analysis page, healing wish gives Entei and amphy another shot at life, while draco meteor and psyshock provide hard hitting stabs.

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast
- U-turn

Tornadus t provides a lot for the team. Secondary, reliable taunt user shuts down stall and set up sweepers. U turn provides great momentum for the team. And regenerate lets it switch into rocks multiple times without fear.

Threats:
speed boost scoliopede.

This thing literally ohkos my whole team after a boost, and if Entei or Tornadus isn't in at the same time scoliopede comes in, I've lost.

Deoxys-s
This thing is way too strong for uu, not only that, but it hits harder in this tier due to not needing to Outspeed genesect my best hope is forcing its psyco boost, then sending in suicune to force it out.

There's certainly more, but I'll update the list as I play. This is my first RMT so please let me know how I did, description wise

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk

- Calm Mind

Your team seems to lack a bit of bulk to it. I would maybe add in Porygon 2 instead of Suicune. It can take a hit from scoliopede and can cripple it with either discharge getting para or T-wave. Also your issue with Deoxys-s is you really do not have a good cheek to any psychic types right now. Adding shadow ball might be an answer to this although I prefer to use it with ice beam. Other than porygon 2 you might want to add a pokemon like Bisharp. It has knock off which can be very nice to use now since the power has been increased and also has a nice stab sucker punch which might be able to answer your Deoxys problem.

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Discharge/Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam/Shadow Ball
- Recover
- Thunder Wave/Toxic

If you want to stick with a hazard pokemon I would replace Froslass with Deoxys-d. It is a very good spike and SR setter and can take a hit unlike froslass. Also you can run T-wave on it which again would help you out on some of those faster stronger pokemon out there.

Deoxys-Defense @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave

Last thing I would say is that I'm not to sure if you really need more than one taunter on your team just seems a little over kill. Well that is at least my two bits I hope I help you out a little at least :)

Well if I'm trying to add bulk, removing suicune isn't actually the best choice, as it's currently uhh bulkiest in on the team. Now while I like the idea of porygon2, and how great he looks on paper, I've never been able to use him with much success, I'll try it out over frosslass right now. Also your issue with Deoxys-s is you really do not have a good cheek to any psychic types right now. Adding shadow ball might be an answer to this although I prefer to use it with ice beam. Also you can run T-wave on it which again would help you out on some of those faster stronger pokemon out there. I really like this actually, and there are lot fewer ways to beat him in uu than ou. My biggest concern is how do I fit deo D and porygon, while keeping the suicune Entei core.right now I'll put him over latias and/or Tornadus-therien and see how that works

Deoxys-Defense @ Leftovers

replies are bolded. I'm also using taunt over seismic toss while testing the team without Tornadus

I would say maybe try it with changing out Suicune and porygon 2 and seeing what works for you. I see Suicune can be a very good bulky sweeper type pokemon where as porygon 2 is more of a wall that can take almost all unboosted attacks other than fighting. If you kind of want best of both worlds maybe you should change Latias into a calm minder becuase it is also a good defensive pokemon. This would leave you a free spot to put porygon2 which works so well as a wall.

A set like this might be nice for latias. It gives it a nice 306 def 296 spdef which is a bit worse than Suicune but it has a more reliable recovery move than rest and does not leave your attacks to be up with chance as sleep talk makes it.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Psyshock
- Recover

Last little thing is if you do choose to use porygon2, really try and utilize trace. It makes great counters to the likes of Chandelure because it can do absolutely nothing to it when it gets flash fire. Also test if you like T-Wave or toxic, I like using toxic because it adds another way to damage pokemon and nice to take out stally tanks and then I use discharge for para; but if you want a para no matter what t-wave is nice for that.

Glad I helped you out and hope your team works for you.
