Who says OU teams are unpredictable?

Hi and welcome to my OU team, I have spent loads of time making this team so don't be too critical of it please, also I would like any comments and rates about my team and any changes if necessary would be very grateful.

(It won't let me insert images it comes up as a red cross so anyone asking about that here is your answer)

My team is as follows:

Steelix @ Iron Ball
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 Sp.def
Nature: Impish
- Roar
- Toxic
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

(Sturdy all but guarantees a free turn by setting up stealth rock or poisoning a foe which makes it such a great lead)

Steelix is my rock and soul in my team that walls pretty much anything physically and is immune to toxic which is always a bonus. Sandstorm doesn't phaze it in the slightest which is brilliant. He sets up stealth rocks and roars away any stat boosting pokemon looking to sweep from early on ie d-dance dragonite. Gyro Ball gets STAB and iron ball works wonders for it. Toxic is basically to wear down anything other than the common steel types.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def/ 252 Sp.def/ 4 HP
Nature: Bold
- Wish
- Toxic
- Protect
- Heal Bell

(Natural Cure is the ability Chansey should be using all the time)

My oh my, Chansey excels Blissey in every way defensively due to the wonders of Eviolite and to start things off I would normally switch out steelix and bring Chansey in if there is a special attacking pokemon that endagers Steelix in anyway, just thought I'd clear that one out. The Chansey set is pretty common but it works wonders against those special attackers, Wish helps a lot when physical attacks are being thrown at me whilst I'm posioning them, Toxic is the standard poison inducing move that cripples pokemon whilst Chansey just sits back and watches the fun happen, Protect is available once it uses toxic as a stall move and Heal Bell is interesting because even though Arometherapy is also used from a Chansey it doesn't have as much PP so I use Heal Bell and I love this so much because it heals all status problems on my entire team including Chansey which is incredible to say the least. All in all Chansey is there for support only.

Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Attack/ 252 Speed/ 4 HP
Nature: Adamant
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

(Sheer Force is the best ability it can have which increases the power of all moves with secondary effects by 1.3x but it negates the secondary effect)

As you can probably guess Darmanitan is my late game sweeper due to it's choice scarf which it needs to outspeed a lot of pokemon and also it's incredible ability sheer force which skyrockets the power of flare blitz into orbit, maybe I'm exaggerating but it is a beast at sweeping. U-turn is for leaving the battle early for a more equipped pokemon suited against the opposing pokemon or for getting rid of those pesky Latios's and Alakazam's if it's not holding a focus sash of course. Flare Blitz has enormous power as said above and gains STAB aswell which definately 2KHO'S the common ferrothorn and scizor which is always a good thing to see. Rock slide is a better alternative to stone edge accuracy wise and gets rid of an opposing Darmanitan hoping to switch in XD. Earthquake is a definate move in this set due to its amazing base power of 100 ang OHKOS many rock types such as Tyranitar, correct me if I'm wrong about the OHKO.

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Sp.atk/ 252 Speed/ 4 Sp.def
Nature: Modest
- Psychic
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Ice

(Magic Guard is my favourite ability in the team because it makes Alakazam immune to all status ailments, entry hazards and weather effects and my favourite reason of all, no life orb damage :D)

I know what most of you are thinking why haven't you got a sash Alakazam, the reason is because I love the extra 30% extra power from life orb which is always needed from a special sweeper like Alakazam. Psychic is staple for all Alakazam movesets which obviously gains STAB and OHKOS the common Gengar and Gliscor. Energy Ball is used to 2HKO the obvious Swampert and Gastrodon and OHKO other Water and ground types in the tier. Focus Blast takes care of the ever present Tyranitar with a 2HKO and OHKOing normal types such as the dangerous Porygon-Z. Hidden Power Ice is debatable because HP Fire can also cover this spot but I don't like the increasing number of dragons and flying types in the tier such as Haxorus, Dragonite, Salamence, Landorus and Thundurus so this is a key move for Alakazam really.

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Speed/ 4 Sp.def
Nature: Adamant
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed
- Dragon Dance

(Multiscale is the only ability I see Dragonite worth having as it greatly increases Dragonite's longevity in battle hooray.)

Here we have another physical sweeper but a much more famous and deadlier one in the form of Dragonite. A lum berry is held by Dragonite as I hate status ailments such as burn which cripples attack or sleep which everyone hates to be on the end of.

Let's talk through what I had in mind for this awesome moveset of his, outrage does massive damage due to it's immense power and STAB which cripples most pokemon that don't resist it and almost every dragon in the tier succumbs to the force of it's power, dragons such as Haxorus and Salamence will be crippled by an outrage almost indefinately. Fire punch is a move which deals with steel and grass and bug types which basically gives coverage against a wider variety of pokemon in the tier such as Scizor, Breloom and Amoongus who can all complicate matters in my team. ExtremeSpeed gains priority which is the best thing out for Dragonite for late game sweeping once a dragon dance has been setup and is also the most powerful priority move I believe which is always a bonus :). Finally, the move that makes Dragonite special that is dragon dance, with this move it becomes deadly as you all know.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Sp.atk/ 252 Speed/ 4 Sp.def
Nature: Timid
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
-
Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt

(Natural Cure is the obvious ability for Starmie which works miracles against the status problems when switched out.)

Finally, Starmie is my rapid spinner which spins away all entry hazards from the obvious Ferrothorn, Forretress and Skarmory and also leech seed which is always handy against those pesky ferrothorns :@. A life orb is used to boost the special power of my moves by a whopping 30% and it hurts it but it's worth it. Anyway onto the other moves, ice beam is very effective against pretty much all dragons in the tier I believe which is brilliant as I need some sort of backup if my Alakazam goes out early. Hydro Pump is a very poweful move as it gains STAB and soaks any fire types in the tier except for the odd focus sash Volcarona, it is pretty much a staple move since its creation. Thunderbolt is a good cover move against those water types that are resistant to water and ice, these pokemon include politoed which I hate dearly and Vaporeon.

Hey there nice looking team you have there! I like the use of Steelix.

Regarding your Chansey set I really think it needs a damaging move so it is not "Taunt Bait." You want Chansey to be able to function well and not be shut down completly by Taunt. So Seismic Toss>Protect is a good option. After all with Seismic toss you do a good 100 damage to any pokemon you attack which is nice. Also Protect isnt really doing to much for you all it does really is scout and get garunteed recovery from Wish. However Blissey can take any hit on the Speciall side anyway and it become quite easy to wish against them.

Now without Protect you may still be a little hard pressed to find time to Wish and then waste another turn for Chansey to get health back to remedy this Softboiled>Heal Bell is a good option. After all Softboiled gives Chansey instant recovery which it really needs because entry hazards and weather will wear it down quickly if it doesnt have leftovers which is stupid on Chansey for obvious reasons. Also with a steel type two pokemon with Natural Cure a pokemon with a Lum Berry a pokemon with Fire typing to aviod burn and a Magic Gaurd pokemon there is absolutely no real need for Heal Bell on Chansey.

Your team also has a Weakness to Terakion espiecally the Scarf Varaint as it can out Speed and hit every single member on your team super effectivly with just Stone Edge,Close Combat and X-Scissor. Your team Also has a slight Weakness to ddancing dragons when STeelix is down or even if STeelix is still healthy Salamence,Dragonite, and Haxorous all commonly carry Earthqauke. To stop this you can change your Alakazam into the Sash Alakazam I know you said you didnt like it but it can revenge all these threat (Terakoin with Psychic and the dragons with Hp Ice) even with the loss of power Alakazam hits rather hard and Dragonite has no trouble sweeping anyway so the loss of power is already covered by your other team members.

Other then that this is a great team I hope my suggestions helped you with your team and good luck improving it!

About your Steelix: I'll just let you know that Skarmory gets Whirlwind (and Roar), Stealth Rock, Toxic, Spikes, and it has other attacking moves in its movepool. Plus it has Sturdy, so I'll suggest Skarmory as a direct upgrade from Steelix. From here, you can advance to other pokemon, but Skarmory is the first step. I don't mean to change the pokemon, but Steelix just isn't that good (in OU).

2nd, use a Timid nature on Alakazam, since you need all the speed you can get. I also suggest dropping Energy Ball for Shadow Ball, and in case you didn't know, with an IV spread of 31/30/30/31/31/31, you still get a full power HP Ice. The reason is that there aren't many things you can hit with Energy Ball, since Gastrodon and Swampert are uncommon. Alternatively, you can drop HP Ice, since Psychic gets STAB and hits them almost as hard as a 2x effective HP Ice.

Other than that, I have nothing else to suggest except that I dislike yellow text, since they are distracting and glaring. I meant your Thunderbolt on Starmie.

Skarmory @ Leftovers/Shed Shell
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def or SpD / 24 Spe
Impish for Def, Careful for SpD
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Spikes
- Taunt / Brave Bird

You can put Stealth Rock somewhere, or just use another mon for it.

Timid Nature for more speed, since you have a lot of power. Shadow Ball > Energy Ball/HP Ice.

Thank you Superpowerdude for some help on my team I have made the changes regarding the Chansey moveset and the Alakazam moveset.
