Why AllStars was removed?

I've been thinking about hosting a tournament amongst some friends where teams must have one pokemon from each tier below Ubers (i.e. OU and below).
I found one such format from searching online called AllStars, but the forum post was back in 2014. I can't find any similar formats from a cursory search.
So I'm curious, was the meta unpopular for some reason (e.g. really monotonous, or imba)? Or was it cycled out and just forgotten?
Curious if anyone has any insights.

Hello OmolonFlavored unfortunately I am locking this thread as this is something that can be posted/asked in the SQSA thread and doesn't need to be a whole nother thread.

As to answer your question though, it was probably just an old OM that no one felt the need to revive. That being said, it would probably be more in line with an Unofficial Metagame nowadays or even it being such a small restriction that I do not see this being approved in this day and age as that particular thread was in the early days of OMs. Hopefully that answers any and all questions :)
