Why do you like D/P?

As the title suggests, you post why you like Diamond/Pearl. I don't know if there's a clone thread or not.

Anyway...

For me, it's the Power Items that make EV Training ridiculously easy. I now have boxes full of EV'd Pokes because of that.

My absolute favorite thing about D/P though is that you aren't forced to use bog standards to get a win. The metagame is so diverse. All the new moves and the phys/spec split did an excellent job of freeing up team building. While the vast majority of pokemon in the first three gens were almost completely useless, there are only a handful of things in D/P that can claim that dubious honor.

There are all kinds of successful novelty teams out there. Hell, I can beat the super-bog zongtarchompceletran team handily with my friggin mono-ghost team. That sort of thing couldn't happen in ADV, and that's why I love d/p.

Oh and the battle tower is much improved now, especially since you don't have to spend years leveling shit up to 100 just to have a chance.

fuck no.
improved my ass. unless you mean hax to the max out my ax. (ass didnt rhyme)
but yeah, id say its worth the extra time to level (or rare candy hax with emerald) to not get hit by QC guillotine three times in a row. and then again on the next run.

DP's just offensive enough for my tastes, plus there's just enough options to do a bunch of cool things while that number is still small enough that stall teams work. So yeah.

D/P battle tower's hax can easily be worked around. There's alot of pokemon with Sturdy you know, and taunt kills the rest of tower hax by forcing most of that shit to struggle to death.

Competitively, there are two main things that make D/P a huge improvement over the previous generation.

The first is the physical/special split, which brought an incredible amount of depth to the game by making new pokemon and unexpected movesets possible, and by making defensive EV's a lot more complicated.

The second is the advent of loads of new useful items. ADV had pretty much all lefties, with the occasional lum berry or choice band, but D/P has a wide range of useful items from Life Orb to the resist berries to focus sash. Choice specs was an obvious addition, and the scarf was a great, innovative idea which is instrumental for certain pokemon.

In general, the game is just a lot less predictable that ADV, which I think is a huge improvement to essentially-invincible-after-one-stat-up from Snorlax and Suicune and retarded Stalling with Blissey and Skarmory/Forretress.

Online and the physical/special split.

I hate how the game turned into this offensive madness, Sandstorm, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Poison Spikes, 120 base attack moves with 100% accuracy, and, the worst of all, Choice Scarf. In a game where one point of speed can chance the entire match, this item is almost broken.

I liked the stalling from Adv much better. It was fun to use some guys like the Regis, after one single Curse, very few could 2HKO them.

You could use UUs in OU without the fear of being (too much) overpowered by ridiculously improved Pokemon in D/P like Heracross and Salamence.

And, lastly, you didn't have to think too much about a team. Now there's too many sweepers to counter.

I'm starting to not enjoy this game anymore.

I really like the physical/special split as it allows you to use all sorts of unique strategies and certain Pokemon are now more usable. Wifi play is also a definite plus, especially if you don't really know many people offline who play Pokemon.

*Phyiscal/Special split (improved Metagross a lot, as it can T-Punch G-Dos, Vaporeon, Milotic..etc and Ice Punch is useful too if you want to kill dragons off guard or for Gliscor).
*Easier EV training (Power Items).
*Wi-Fi (Which made us to be able to trade/battle.. I got PokeRus, good IVed, EVed Pokemon, shiny Pokemon, IV battles (which is very important and useful), even Pokemon (like Celebi and Deoxys "for dex")).
*Introduction to new (competitive items) such as Choice Specs, Choice Scarf, Life Orb and Expert Belt).

My absolute favorite thing about D/P though is that you aren't forced to use bog standards to get a win. The metagame is so diverse.

I completely disagree with this, assuming you're talking about OU. The UU metagame is much much more diverse and fun tho, so I'll give DP that.

The physical/special split, online simulator [that is not netbattle], more pokemon.. all are reasons why I like DP and prefer it to the previous games [competitively speaking]. Gold remains the most entertaining!

Adv stalling? More like dp is a super stallish metagame. RSE was the choice band metagame and sharp prediction. Not like you see CB much now nor set up pokes.

all of the uberness and broken things they've done to the uber metagame. Arceus, more competition for lugia, some insane things like DD ray, BUdialga, the devastatingly annoying toxic spikes, and now there even adding another uber, origion form giratina, or possibly 2 if regigigas's new form loses slow start and keeps its stats or shemi's new form.

Rayquaza used Extreme Speed!
Deoxys lost 99.9% of health
Focus Sash activated!
Deoxys used Icebeam!
Rayquzaz lost 100% of health
Brendan lost to Joe!

Deoxys rape.

Before Diamond and Pearl came out, after I did everything there is to do in a Pokemon game, I got bored of it since I lacked anyone to play with (except for the occasional time when I went to a friend's house and had to deal with a horrible level disadvantage). Now that it's all online, I can play with a lot more people on Wi-Fi!

The other good things about D/P is that there's now a physical/special split so moves make more sense, Pokemon that desperately needed evolutions (Togetic, Tangela, Nosepass, Yanma...) finally got them, and they're all good Pokemon (except Probopass, with his horrible typing). There's also an abundance of new items, like the Choice Specs, Choice Scarf, Life Orb, Focus Sash, and berries that makes super effective moves hurt less, and useful new moves like Nasty Plot, U-Turn, and Close Combat.

I'd have to say that the only thing that I hate is how Cresellia made Skarmbliss even more annoying to take down. JUST Skarmbliss is fine with me, but Skarmcressbliss is more than I can handle...

for lopunny of course

Well Ubers is simply a ban list for OU. It isn't actually a real tier, it just happens to be somewhat playable right now. Not much use complaining about it being broken when it is the haven of broken pokemon.

Most people like this have no idea what they're talking about, because you attempt to purely substitute random UUs into the roles of OUs and then call it less diverse when you fail horribly. If you actually use UUs to fill in holes in your teams properly, you'll find that many UUs are very usable in OU. You just need to play to their strengths as opposed to trying to replace Gengar/Garchomp/Blissey with random UU stuff.

I like the Diamond the most out of all the games because of the physical/special split that makes the meta-game more realistic. Also in d/p you can use cool faces and symbols to nickname your pokemon. ^^

EDIT- I also like wifi battling, that is the best part by far.

before I say what I LIKE, I HATE how they made suicune now.
I like game corner, addition diversity granted to a needed improvment
metagame. They made cleffable awesome.Night and day.additional defenders. Linoone's improvement. and wifi.
