So I'd been playing around on Shoddy the other day with a half-random and rather fun-to-use team of pokes, and surprisingly found myself winning with it a lot more than I had expected to. So, of course, when I was asked for a wifi battle later that night, I decided to give it a try.
My team:
Gin's team:
Syberia's moves are in blue
Gin's moves are in red
Since this was a Wi-Fi battle, damage done to the opponent is estimated
Syberia sent out Infernape
Gin sent out Tyranitar
Tyranitar’s Sand Stream whipped up a Sandstorm!
(Sandstorm damage will be ignored from now on)
I lead with Infernape, he decides to lead with Tyranitar. I know that Tyranitars are usually afraid of Infernapes, and even though I'm trying out the Endeavor set, and that means I don't technically have Close Combat, there's no way Gin could know that. Unless he's sashed, and I really doubt he is, he'll switch out, so I'll take the opportunity to set up Stealth Rock.
Gin withdrew Tyranitar
Gin sent out Swampert
Infernape used Stealth Rock
He went to Swampert, as he obviously wasn't going to risk Tyranitar being destroyed by Close Combat, and I got the opportunity to set up my Stealth Rock. Unfortunately, Tyranitar's Sand Stream renders my Focus Sash + Endeavor useless, so Infernape has done its job for now. I lack Grass Knot, meaning I can't kill the Swampert, but he's not likely to use an Ice move against an Infernape, so I feel safe bringing Salamence in right now, before he gets Stealth Rock on the field.
Syberia withdrew Infernape
Syberia sent out Salamence
Salamence’s Intimidate cut Swampert’s attack
Swampert used Stealth Rock
(Stealth Rock damage will be ignored from now on)
Salamence comes in for free on his Stealth Rock, which is nice because between Life Orb, Sandstorm, and now SR damage, it won't be switching in and out too many times. Swampert has the potential to be an annoying douche if I don't kill it quickly, so I'll take the opportunity to fire off my strongest attack at it before I die.
Salamence used Draco Meteor (85% damage, Salamence takes LO recoil)
Salamence’s special attack harshly fell
Swampert used Ice Beam (85% damage)
Salamence fainted
Swampert restored its health with Leftovers
(Swampert’s Leftovers will be ignored from now on)
Swampert: 20%
Salamence: KOed
6-5 Gin
Salamence did its job, I guess. I was hoping that I would KO, or that I would live an Intimidated Ice Punch, but neither happened. Swampert is in easy kill range for just about anything, though.
Syberia sent out Tyranitar
Tyranitar used Crunch (20% damage)
Swampert fainted
Swampert: KOed
Tyranitar: 87%
5-5 tie
CB Crunch takes it out easily, and does not lock me into a painfully weak Pursuit for anything to set up on.
Gin sent out Tyranitar
However, that's a pretty bad matchup, considering I'm locked into Crunch. I have something that should be able to handle it, though.
Syberia withdrew Tyranitar
Syberia sent out Breloom
Tyranitar used Earthquake (22% damage)
Breloom was poisoned by its Toxic Orb
(Poison Heal recovery will be ignored from now on)
Tyranitar: 87%
Breloom: 66%, poisoned
If this is the same Tyranitar he used against me last time, then it lacks a Fire move. Since this is a SubSeed Breloom without Seed Bomb to kill it, I'll just Leech Seed it or his switch-in for the time being. I'd rather save my Spore for something else, as Tyranitar really is the least of my worries. Besides, he knows it's coming.
Breloom used Leech Seed
Tyranitar used Crunch (27% damage)

Jirachi restored its health with Leftovers
(Jirachi’s Leftovers will be ignored from now on)
Jirachi: 100%
Tyranitar: 75%
In hindsight, that was probably a bad idea. Switching out was a perfectly logical move on his part, since no one in their right mind leaves a sleeping pokemon in against a Breloom. Oh well, Tyranitar vs. Jirachi is still an advantageous matchup for me.
Jirachi used Substitute

That totally screws me up; I haven't seen a Tyranitar carry Taunt in forever. At this point, I've got two options - predict a switch and use Focus Punch, or switch to something else myself. He's seen three of my moves, and it's easy to guess what the fourth is on SubSeed Breloom, so he'll probably just attack me. Magnezone shoud be able to take a Crunch...

Vaporeon: 75%
Infernape: 75%
At this point I'm trying to figure out how I can win. If I lower Vaporeon's health to about 50%, Tyranitar can outspeed and take it out with Stone Edge. Swampert was presumably his Tyranitar counter, and it's dead, leaving Jirachi as the only thing on his team that can survive Stone Edge, other than perhaps one unknown pokemon, but I can't worry about what I don't know right now. In order to get Vaporeon's health sufficiently low, though, I'm going to have to sacrifice Infernape.
Infernape used Endeavor (30% damage)
