Wifi Rain Dance Team

I've been testing out a Rain Dance team on shoddy/wifi thats alright, but I feel it needs a lot of work. Any/all advice is greatly appreciated.

Electrode @ Damp Rock
Hasty+Static
EVs 252 Atk+speed, 6 SpA
Taunt
Rain Dance
Thunder
Explosion

My lead. Depending on who they open with, I either taunt or Rain Dance. He is often dead by the time I have Rain Dance up, but since he outspeeds any nonscarfed poke with his awesome base 140 speed besides ninjask, he fits his role quite nicely.

Zapdos @ Damp Rock
Bold+Pressure
EVs 252 Hp, 220 Def, 36 Speed
Rain Dance
Thunder
Roost
HP Grass

My 2nd Rain Dancer. Scares away gyara, but stone edge jurts, alot. But this guy can take a hit or 2 while setting up Rain Dance. HP Grass for more coverage. Damp Rock for longer rain.

Kingdra @ Leftovers
Adamant+Swift Swim
EVs 252 Atk+Speed, 6 Hp
Substitute
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Waterfall

My first sweeper. I try to keep him hidden until late game where he dominates. Swift swim is really just for setting up. Outrage+waterfall are resisted by few, so this guy has some awesome coverage and can/has swept entire teams who let it happen. However, any status ruins this guy almost entirely if I can't get the sub up fast enough.

Ludicolo @ Leftovers
Modest+Swift Swim
EVs 152 Hp, 252 Special Attack, 104 Speed
Rain Dance
Grass Knot
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam

I really need this guy alive as hes really the only special force I have besides Zapdos. Rain Dance on a switch if needed or just for more rain in general. Maybe energy ball over grass knot or surf over hydro pump, help here?

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Adamant+Swift Swim
EVs 252 Atk+Speed, 6 Hp
Swords Dance
Waterfall
Stone Edge
X-Scissor

I really underestimated this guy when I made my team. Under a swords dance, he can really put a dent in if not kill just about anything with the nice coverage his 3 offensive moves give him, I'm pretty happy with what he does for the team, especially in the rain.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant+Technician
EVs 252 Atk+Speed, 6 Hp
Bullet Punch
Superpower
U-Turn
Pursuit

Pretty much covers what the rest of my guys may have trouble with. I usually bring him in on TTar, have them switch to a counter and U-Turn to switch to a counter or Zapdos for the rain that TTar blew away. Bullet Punch for STAB+ownage, superpower for coverage and pursuit for finishing off dudes on switches.

Threats:

TTar- Blows away the rain, Ludicolo's grass knot only 2kos and they always switch out on Scizor.

Gyarados- Counters most of my team except for maybe zapdos, but a boosted stone edge takes care of zappy.

Any thoughts?

Yes-i would consider Ludicolo a counter to Gyarados as it can absorb Stab boosted Waterfall. If you put some more Defense EVs it could easily take a boosted Stone Edge, and then respond with Grass Knot to 2HKO. You could make your Ludicolo a Special tank, but with Max Hp/SpA and 6 Def. Modest is a great nature. If you're wondering how to change EVs, use berries to take away Spd EVs and then use HP Ups to get up the HP, but this is all your decision. I personally think that Speed EVs are unnecessary, and i also think Ludi is better a tank then a fast sweeper. Kabutops is awesome, consider Rock Slide>Stone Edge though because a miss can cost Kabutops his life especially with weaknesses to Fighting, Rock, Ground, and Electric, some of the most common offensive types in the metagame. So, consider Rock Slide, with a King's Rock, just because you will always be faster (pretty much) because of Swift Swim, so that could really work to your advantage. Good luck-Rain Dance teams have always seemed really cool to me.

Hey.

A rain team is all about getting in there and sweeping the opponent's team as fast as you can. As such, Stealth Rock is essential to a team like this. Without it you will find it very hard to sweep an entire team, and it will also be really helpful in taking out things like Salamence and Gyarados, who resist water attacks.

I would suggest changing the lead to something that can set up SR. You can use the standard Torrential Bronzong lead (with either Reflect, Light Screen or Gyro Ball over Hypnosis because of its poor accuracy), or you can try the following Uxie set:

Uxie @ Choice Scarf
Bold
252 HP, 104 Def, 152 Spe
- Trick
- Rain Dance
- Stealth Rock
- Memento

Uxie outspeeds base 130s (Aerodactyl leads) and cripples them with scarf. Then it can use Stealth Rock while the opponent is forced to switch, and then set up Rain Dance as it takes a hit with its impressive 354/354/296 Defences. Finally, and the real reason I am recommending Uxie, it can use Memento to reduce both the attacking stats of the opposing pokemon by 2. This essentially means you get a free switch, and you get to set up with one of your pokemon for free as the opponent either does nothing with reduced attacking stats, or is forced to switch. Either way, you get a free Swords Dance with Kabutops or a Dragon Dance with Kingdra, you get to scout half their team and do residual damage throughout.

However, since your Uxie wasn't holding Damp Rock and will only give you 5 turns of rain, I suggest you change Scizor so that it can be a Rain Dancer. Try the following:

Scizor @ Damp Rock
Adamant
252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Spe
- Rain Dance
- Superpower
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch

Scizor is not so much of a sweeper here, but rather a team supporter. It always survives Magnezone's HP Fire in the rain, and can OHKO both it and Blissey after SR damage. U-Turn allows you to make the most of Scizor's low speed to get one of your rain sweepers in for free, while Bullet Punch still serves as an excellent way to get rid of weakened threats.

With Scizor serving as another reliable rain dancer, I would also change your Ludicolo around to be more offensive:

Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Modest
60 Atk, 252 SpA, 196 Spe
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Energy Ball
- Focus Punch

You want 196 Spe EVs to be able to outspeed +1 Adamant Salamence in the rain and OHKO with Ice Beam. Energy Ball is usually run over Grass KNot on rain teams to get the considerably stronger hit on Vaporeon. Focus Punch when you predict a Blissey Switch in, and with this spread you take Blissey out with a Focus Punch + Surf.

Also, one thing you might want to try out is Aqua Jet on your Kabutops over X-Scissor. After a Swords Dance, you can OHKO Lucario, Azelf, Electivire, Gengar, Porygon-Z and Weavile in the rain, just to give an example of its power.

Good luck with your team.

LR.

Dam, thats a huge chunk of advice. Thanks, I'll make some changes.

EDIT: Question though, why not yawn on uxie? It seems to serve the same purposes, forcing a switch, except I don't have to sacrifice uxie, and I can bring uxie back in to trick some more or bring in more rain.

Also, what about roar over hp grass on zapdos? It seems like a phazer (or however you spell it) would help to some extent.

Though keeping Uxie may be a good idea, your actually wasting a whole turn on the rain to switch Uxie out. That Uxie set is meant to lead, and most leads do not last long. Since it does not have Damp Rock your only having 3 turns (correct me if its actually 3 or 4 ._.) to sweep with. Memento offers an additional turn for any of your Pokemon to set up with. I believe that is what Legacy Raider is trying to say.

I think you should change Scizor to the SD + priority set, and focus most of your EVs in SpD. Under the rain, I bet you'll be surviving something like a Zapdos's Heat Wave.
