[WiFi RMT] Team Powah
★Introduction★
★Team Powah★
★Introduction★
This will be my first team which I actually put effort into writing. Every other team I have ever written for myself was done quick and didn't have that "complete" feel into it. And since Latias is recently banned, I have to make a new team. Also, take note that this is a WiFi RMT, so that means that Rotom-H is banned, Stall Teams are much much much less common, and other Pokemon have a chance to shine. One last thing, I play by "Pursuit Clause" instead of "Weather Clause", to avoid the acid rain glitch. Or I just might not care and go use pursuit anyway (but only on HG/SS).
★At a Glance★

Machamp (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP/160 Atk/96 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dynamicpunch
- Payback
- Ice Punch
- Bullet Punch
You gotta love the anti-lead Machamp. It is simply amazing. I run 31 speed IV's on it because I don't have substitute, so I don't care if Bronzong will be doing 10-20 more damage. I also run 31 speed IVs because of other Machamp leads, who will be likely to have the usual 19. Here is my response to the most common leads in the metagame:
Payback + Bullet Punch kills Azelf, even if they do not attack. Azelf will either explode on me, taunt me, set up stealth rock, attack me, or trick me a scarf. Machamp survives most Psychic attacks from Azelf, so no worries there.
Dynamic Punch is usually a 2-3HKO. Most metagross carry Occa Berry, so if I'm lucky, I may get the confusion hax. I have to be wary of explosion though.
Dynamic Punch is a 3HKO. It can't really do much do me unless it invests in offense. And if I'm lucky, it may not do anything due to confusion.
Problem. It can trick me a scarf, rendering me near useless due to Machamp's poor speed. It usually survives Dynamic Punch, and can get Stealth Rock on my field.
I can easily Dynamic/Ice Punch and Bullet Punch for the KO. Aerodactyl will usually taunt me, but in rare cases, it gets rocks off.
I don't really give a shit about Fake Out, TBH. I just Dynamic Punch + Bullet Punch for the KO. Endeavor Apes just make my job easier, since I can Dynamic Punch after it can use Endeavor.
Sleep Powder is negated due to the Lum Berry. I can Ice Punch + Bullet Punch for the kill. Some players are smart though and will try to get down Toxic Spikes ASAP.
lol
Dynamic Punch KO's Heatan. I have to be wary of explosion. And it will some of the time get rocks up.
Dynamic Punch KO's Tyranitar as well, due to the 4x weakness.
Gliscor is KO'd by Ice Punch, unless it has Yache Berry. However, it will get it's rocks up OR U-Turns out to a counter.
Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 160 HP/252 Atk/96 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
Tyranitar, my physical attacker. While other physical attackers in my team need to set up, Tyranitar hits very hard right off the bat. Also, with Choice Scarf Tyranitar being widely popular, it's very easy for one to assume that it is choice scarfed. That's good news for this Tyranitar, because with a huge increase in power, the opponent will be more cautious switching into this beast. It works well with my team in terms of synergy as well. With Sand Stream, Tyranitar has a SpD stat of 354. Considering the High HP and 256 Defense and you have one tough powerhouse to take down. Tyranitar can take aimed Special Attacks that aren't grass or water as well. Also, Sandstream does its part in weakening opposing walls, and doesn't hurt my team much, since 4/6 of it is immune, and Gyarados has recovery. I had a bit of a decision with Earthquake and Aquatail. But I went for Earthquake, for those pesky Lucario, Jirachi, Magnezone, steel types and whatnot.
Scizor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 200 HP/252 Atk/56 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Brick Break
Scizor is a good cleaner with Sword Dance in its arsenal. Leftovers instead of Life Orb because it can really make a difference in survivability, and can set up against defensively oriented pokemon. Brick Break over Superpower, because I do not want the Defense and Attack Drop, and Brick Break KO's Magnezone and Heatran after an SD anyway. Scizor also makes an excellent revenge killer with the powerful Bullet Punch. Roost Provides reliable coverage. Scizor has some good synergy with this team as well.
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ground]
Now, you will be thinking "Why does he have a Superachi set with a Choice Scarf attached?". Well, first off, Jirachi serves as my main revenge killer, and is the only special attacker on my team. Second, Jirachi has amazing coverage with its moves, hitting most things for super effective damage. I don't really have much else to say for this except it does what it does, and gets the job done.
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP/248 Def/12 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
- Dragon Dance
Before you freak out, "Why the hell does this guy have a RestTalk set with Dragon Dance on it?!?! That defeats the purpose of the RestTalk set!!!" Gyarados fulfills 3 roles on my team. One, he is a defensive behemoth with the ability to dragon dance, restore health, and has key resistances to Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Steel attacks. Two, he absorbs the sleep status from the bastard mushroom referred to as Breloom, and cripples it. Three, he posses as an offensive threat, bluffing the standard DD set, and possibly sweeping unprepared teams. Gyarados is both an offensive and defensive threat with the ability to check Heracross, Breloom, Lucario, Scizor and the likes who could otherwise sweep me. Gyarados has excellent bulk, and can also fulfill the role as a late game sweeper. This is much better than the standard RestTalk Roar Gyarados, IMO. All in all, Gyarados is an excellent team player and can bluff either the RestTalk set or the Standard DD set.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Roar
Swampert gets my rocks up, and serves as a wall of sorts. Swampert can also roar away threats that can otherwise set up and destroy me. Such threats include CurseLax, CMCune, and the like. Swampert pretty much speaks for itself.
I'll do some more edits later (synergy, threat list, ect)
I need to take a break.
