3 tests lefts (Micro, Macro, Latin Lit), and I'm planning a wifi team. I've been out of the competitive loop for a very long time, and looking through the tier lists and sets while planning, I know a bit has changed. This team isn't gonna try to be super radical, but I wanna be above 6 standards thrown together. So some help to get a fellow trainer back into the swing of things would be much appreciated.
The team doesn't necessarily have a central strategy, or one guy to really go for the sweep. I'm going for a team of pokes who can support each other, set up, and/or throw off the opponent.
Tauros@C-Band
Intimidate
Jolly|252atk,252spd,6hp
Return
EQ
Stone Edge
Pursuit/ Zen Headbutt
Lead off, and physical attacker. Intimidate on the lead is always cool, and Tauros's speed is quite nice. The CB gives him a nice power surge, and allows him to take an intimidate from Gyarados or Salamence and still threaten to hurt a bit with Stone Edge (havent run the #s, so I dont know exact percentages). Not sure of pursuit or zen h-butt, depends on how popular gengar leads are and whether they'll switch out.
Metagross@Shuca Berry
Clear Body
Adamant|152hp,252atk,104spd
Agility
Meteor Mash
EQ
Ice Punch/ Thunder Punch
Agiligross certainly looks like a good physical sweeper. His durability certainly allows him to get in an Agility and his raw power lets him hit hard without item boosts. Shuca berry gives him an EQ resist, which can allow him to stay in against some threats (Garchomp) Last slot up in the air. Ice Punch will lay much hurt to Chompy, but t-punch will be better for Gyara.
Infernape@Expert Belt
Blaze
Naive|32atk, 252sp atk, 220spd
Close Combat
Nasty Plot
Grass Knot
Flamethrower
Mixape standard, good type coverage, dual stab, and if an NP can get in there, he'll be really powerful. I do worry about his ability to last long enough to NP, and I'm wondering if a C-Specs or C-Scarf variety would be better. As long as he leans special, I'm happy.
Mismagius@Lefties
Levitate
Timid|116hp,140sp atk, 252spd
WoW
T-wave
Shadow Ball
T-bolt/ HP Fight/ Energy Ball
Dual status here, and some secondary special attack support, where Ape is the main special guy. I wanted to use Missy over Gengar since Gar is used quite a bit, and I wanted to throw in some BLs. Missy is more support oriented than Gar so I'm taking advantage of it here. Even if a Guts Heracross comes to take advantage of this, I can deal with that...
Gliscor@Lefties
Sand Veil
Impish|252hp,252def,6atk
EQ
Aerial Ace
Knock Off
Roost
Physical defender, and counterer (is that a word?) of many things. EQ and AA give dual stab, and roost some nice recovery. I chose Knock Off over Stealth Rock for 2 reasons. 1: It seems like many teams avoid pokes that are SR weak, and those that have weaknesses often use spinners. 2: I see a lot of Specs this, Scarf that, and seeing how important those items are to strategies, I feel that item removal can put a much larger kink in my opponent's plans.
Milotic@lefties
Marvel Scale
Bold|252hp, *help with defense EVs*
Surf
Ice Beam
Light Screen
Recover
Bulky water, and special defender (of sorts). Light Screen support is really helpful, as it is hard to get good special defenders outside of Blissey (who I refuse to use) and Cresselia (who seems like a pain to get). Milotic has the auto recovery, which I like and seems to be a lesser used OU. Not sure how to distribute the defensive EVs.
