Wii Technical Problems?

As you all know... I just got my Wii yesterday on leap day! ^.^

But I think I'm facing some technical difficulties! ;-; For example... when I turn on my wii, sometimes it lags or even freezes, so I have to turn it off and restart it again. Is this supposed to happen? And everytime I switch disks between WiiPlay and WiiSports, it sometimes lags too. Do I have to go back the the Wii Menu in order to switch disks?

And no, I don't have internet connection.

^ Oh, well I guess that's my fault! XD

But still, even when I turn on my wii, it lags and freezes sometimes! I leave the disk inside the game overnight though...

And it takes like 5 seconds to connect the second controller everytime I decide to add controllers. -.-

My Wii has never lagged more than a few seconds of loading and never frozen.

Seconding the fact that you should never ever change games while another is running :s On the wii menu is fine though.

edit: I leave my games inside for days on end so that shouldn't be it. Yeah it should take several seconds to add a controller, but there is a way to make it auto add/lock a remote to a wii I believe. (iirc) try the red button inside the battery compartment/back of the wii.

Well, it only froze once... Its not happening anymore, but if it does happen again, I'm using the stupid 50 dollar 2 year warranty that came with the overpriced bundle! >:)

Mine froze dozens of times, specifically when playing Wariowear. Eventually it got to the point where my Wii ate Wariowear and would not spit it out. I sent it to Nintendo (I didn't purchase a warranty) and they fixed it at no charge. Nintendo has always had an A+ from me for customer service, so if you continue having problems they're definitely willing to fix them in a timely manner (they pay for shipping and will have your Wii back to you in a week or so).

As for lagging issues, it takes a little while to connect controllers.
Leaving the game in overnight definitely doesn't matter by the way.
I hope you're enjoying your Wii. I'm sad to say mine has seen little use until I recently installed a Wiikey and started playing SSBB. But as it's been said, the future is bright for the Wii. I can't wait for another Pikmin game!

I've had a few problems with my Wii as well. It's frozen a couple of times when trying to load the Wii Shop Channel, and cut scenes (such as game intros) have actually lagged severely. I never bothered trying to call Nintendo because of how inconsistantly it has errors. I think it might have something to do with the updates, considering the Wii Shop Channel started having problems since they gave it a make over.
