After isoing you I came to the conclusion that your role is maybe perfectly NAI. It makes absolute sense as a backup to the town backup, essentially serving the same purpose but more targeted. OTOH it makes perfect sense for scum to peep peoples' results to help with their claims. I think softing only the number thing would be very suspicious, because i's an extremely conspicuous soft of information that will probably help town very little. It mostly just exists to prove your claim later, where Ideally a soft might provide useful info if you flip, or push town in a useful direction without saying why. But that's all totally fine if you continued to soft when you had actually useful info, which you did.
I would also be kind of suspicious of someone with a NAI role coming in and conveniently counterclaiming an invest. But I'm so beyond skeptical of Des that I'm overwhelmingly leaning "no it just makes sense that des would get counterclaimed lol." Also, if it's not lylo, I think scum would wait to counterclaim. Entirely possible des would get lynched without it. And I don't think it's lylo, although that could definitely be wrong. We should be playing like it's lylo regardless.

It’s fine for confirming results, but the inherent issue is that there’s barely any incentive to lie regarding night results

The reason I voted Des was because I thought they were lying about their role/cop-ness. But if they're describing it how I think they're describing it, then I can verify that they are the role that they say they are, which means they didn't fake claim.
