will there be a 3rd version for the D/P series? like how emerald was to R/S series. Just curious because me and my brother were talking about it last night...
 
They probably will, like Rayquaza in Ruby/Sapphire wasn't avaliable until after E4, but they made it okay in Emerald (although it was Lv. 70)

Still, the Nat. Dex prohibits Giratina (the other Dragon), but that's not much of a reason to not make a 3rd game (i.e. Crystal)
 
if anything 3rd game will be the game that gives use all the cool move tutor moves of 3rd gen that some pokemon lost because they are not compatable with 4th gen breeding moves and what not.
 
Yes, I think there will be a third game, but when you really think about it, Mesprit rather than Giratina should be the featured Pokemon of the third game because of the following reasons:
1. Giratina is not in the Sinnoh Dex.
2. Mesprit is different from Azelf and Uxie in that it runs away.
3. Mesprit temporarily stops in front of you after the pixies stopped Dialga/Palkia from unleashing its true power atop Spear Pillar.
4. When one considers it, emotion (the quality that Mesprit embodies) is the one quality that Cyrus lacks among emotion, will, and wisdom. Also, Mesprit's lake (Verity), is the one quality that Cyrus lacks among verity, acuity, and valor, since he was neither true to himself nor the other members of Team Galactic.

Nah, I still like the idea of Giratina, as it represents the beginning and ending of time and space; Chaos, which is where Arceus came from, so Arceus decides to turn the nothing into something. And Mespirit has no connection with Dialga and Palkia, unlike Suicune had with Ho-Oh, and not Lugia (of course I'm referring to GSC)

I think you've totally called this one. I assumed that it would be Giratina, but you're right: it's not in the Sinnoh Dex. They're not going to alter the Dex for one version of the game. Your other arguments are also convincing, but that's what clinched it for me.
 
I never thought of Mesprit, but it would really make sense. I always wondered why Mesprit stopped in front of you, but they didn't really explain it at all.

I would assume because the main character hails from Twinleaf Town; probably something Mesprit recognized.
 
The boxart from Zircon looked really promising... Can't see anything else other than Giratina that's an uber share the stage like Rayquaza did
 
They will just "put" Giratina's entry in the sinnoh Dex. Dialga and Palkia will be found where Giratina is, but in different rooms, and they'll take Dialga/Palkia out of the dex to make room for Giratina, then FORCING you to get the Manaphy egg to complete the dex. Or they'll just use the Mespirit idea. Dibs to the first thing I said.
 
Well, there's never before been an occasion where the Dex was switched around for the third version. There has been an occasion where the third verison's featured Pokémon was less powerful than the other two (Suicune in Crystal Version). So if they go with precedent, it'll probably be Mesprit.
