They just won't lose

Hello guys! This is Darklight coming to you with his first RMT on Smogon forums. This is a really great team that has been working pretty good for me. I peaked to about 1900 points with it before i started to fall down a lot due to hax and etc. So here it is!

558.gif
@ Lum Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Rock Blast
- X-Scissor

At first I wanted a Spike and Stealth Rock setter that could also go offensive. Crustle fitted great. Crustle is really important to this team since due to Sturdy it is normally my answer to fire types, especially Moltres and Entei. Rock Blast is being used over Stone Edge since it helps me get rid of my opponent's Accelgor, Aerodactyl which most of the times are holding a focus sash. X-Scissor is powerful enough to 2HKO Slowking.

475.gif
@ Leftovers
Trait: Steadfast
EVs: 240 HP / 224 SDef / 44 Spd
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Night Slash
- Substitute

Gallade is really a great Pokemon. It's Bulk Up set is just mind blowing. After weakening your opponent's Pokemons, Gallade has no trouble sweeping. With it's great special defense stat and the defense boost Bulk Up is giving him, it becomes really hard to kill and and powerful enough to kill many things. EVs are put into HP and Special Defense so that Slowking and Lanturn cannot break my sub with Scald. I am also using Night Slash over Shadow Sneak so that I have an easier time dealing with Slowking.

306.gif
@ Choice Band
Trait: Rock Head
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Head Smash
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail

Ahh! Here it is! My Wallbreaker. Aggron is just so great, it is hard to describe it's power. Choice Band Head Smash just kills everything in sight. Iron Head is it's secondary STAB move and deals with things like Rhydon. Earthquake destroys other Steel types like Klinklang and other Aggrons. Aqua Tail is normally kept only for Rhydon who otherwise easily counters this thing. Aggron also does a pretty fine job of switching in on my opponent's Head Smashes and Entei's Flare Blitzes.

591.gif
@ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SDef / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Amoonguss is here to help my Pokemon have an easier time destroying their opponents. Spore puts my opponent to sleep so that my Gallade has an easier time setting up, ON THEIR FACE. I chose Sludge Bomb over Clear Smog since I didn't really see any use for it and Sludge Bomb has an easier time dealing with Whimsicott and Sceptile too. Giga Drain helps me regain my HP and deal with Water types like Lanturn and Slowking while HP Fire deals with Steel types, especially Escavalier.

254.gif
@ Life Orb
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Focus Blast

Sceptile is my second wall breaker. Life Orb Leaf Storm destroys everything in it's path, especially when powered by Overgrow. Giga Drain helps me regain my HP when low on health and provides me an alternative to Leaf Storm when I can't afford to lose my special attack. HP Rock for Fire and Bug types namely Moltres, Entei, Galvantula, Scolipede etc.. Focus Blast helps me deal with Steel types like Steelix etc.

62.gif
@ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Circle Throw
- Waterfall
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Poliwrath is my Phazer. It deals with Entei and Aggon and helps me to switch into Bug type moves. I have maximized it's physical defense to help it take Flare Blitz and Head Smash. Pretty standard set but I went for Waterfall over Scald since it can easily 2HKO Magmortar which Scald cannot.

So Guys try this team out and tell me the ways to improve it even more!

Hi Darklight! Cool team you got here and nice to see you on Smogon. Grats on the high peak. I love the whole Aggron evolution line and I use a similar set with Lairon in NU! Moving on, I have a few changes in mind that will help your team out

First thing i noticed right off the bat is a HUGE flying type weakness. Braviary is a huge threat to your team due to its coverage in Brave Bird (which hits 4 mons for super effective damage) and Superpower. Also, its monstrous Attack, decent bulk, and good speed make it even more scary. Aggron isnt a reliable counter even though he can tank Brave Birds with ease, he is outsped and demolished by Superpower. Crustle isnt reliable either because non-banded Brave Birds have a 47-56% chance to KO while banded one always KO. A good solution to this big problem would be to add Choice Scarf Manectric to your team. I suggest removing Sceptile as his typing is redundant with Amoonguss's and Manectric provides similar coverage while providing a key resistance to Flying as well as an immunity to Electric, which is always nice. When equipped with a scarf, Manectric effectively outspeeds the whole unboosted tier, letting him revenge kill as well as hit hard with his high powered attacks. Volt Switch, Overheat, and Hidden Power Grass provides virtually the same coverage as Sceptile. Switcheroo in the last slot gives Manectric a means to beat sturdy walls and cripple them for the whole match, and even without the Scarf, Manectric's natural speed lets him outpace a lot of the tier.

While I like Crustle's EV spread, he should be running Leftovers over Lum Berry. While avoiding status is nice, you already have a status absorber in Poliwrath and the item seems redundant and unnecessary. Amoonguss should be running Max HP/ Max SpDef as im not quite sure what you're attempting to outpace nor did you give a reason for the speed in your description. This spread would maximize your bulk and allow you take tank more Special hits. Finally, your team lacks any form of priority. While the addition of Manectric will help with revenge killing, priority would help your team out alot. You could try Shadow Sneak over Night Slash on Gallade. After a couple of Bulk Up boosts Shadow Sneak would hit quite hard and would be nice to get that quick KO, but its up to you.

Summary:

Choice Scarf Manectric > Sceptile
Crustle: Leftovers > Lum Berry
Amoonguss: Max HP/Max SpDef > Current EV spread

Optional:

Gallade: Shadow Sneak > Night Slash

Set:
Manectric @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Lightningrod
Evs: 4 Hp / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
-Volt Switch
-Overheat
-Hidden Power Grass
-Switcheroo

Again, cool team and grats on the peak! Pm me if you have any questions and see you on PO. :D

Manectric is an interesting idea. Will try it. Lum Berry has actually helped me a lot I don't really see much use for lefties. the speed evs are for speed creeping, just 36 evs don't cause much of a difference in bulk while helps me outspeed Slowkings and other amoonguss. I actually tried out Shadow Sneak over Night Slash but Slowking just takes it easily so Night Slash is better but if you don't care for Slowking then Shadow Sneak is better since the main purpose for Night Slash was Cofagrigus which is gone anyways so yeah gonna try out Shadow Sneak again. Thanks anyways.

Hey there. This is a pretty good team, and congrats on the ladder peak.

The single biggest threat to this team is Moltres. It can come in on Amoonguss with ease, and absolutely nothing can take a hit. You have 1 Hurricane resist in Aggron, who is then 1HKO'd by Fire Blast.

To fix this problem, I would recommend running Kabutops over Poliwrath. To me, it seems that Poliwrath doesn't fit in too well with the offensive nature of this team, and Kabutops most certainly does. Tops also counters Entei nicely as well, and Moltres, and Aqua Jet is a great priority move, outpacing Absol before it can Sucker Punch too. Escavalier becomes a bit more of an issue, but Amoonguss has HP Fire to 2HKO I assume, and Aggron can take a Megahorn.

I would also replace Amoonguss. You already have sceptile, and you have rather big problems with Nidoqueen. Gallade is the only poke that can survive the 2HKO, but can't do anything back. With Kabutops on your team, Moltres becomes a great option for you to use. It forms a nice FWG core with Tops and Sceptile, and does massive damage to Nidoqueen(it doen't always 1HKO-but will with Spikes and SR up). It also gives you a nice stall breaker, since Aggron will often find itself walled by Poliwrath or Steelix.

Here are the sets:
Kabutops @ Life Orb
Trait: Weak Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet

Moltres @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Hurricane
- Roost
- Substitute / Hidden Power Grass

Alternatively, you could use Magmortar over Moltres. Magmortar is still an excellent wallbreaker, but is slower and doesn't have that powerful Hurricane.

GL and hope I helped.

ok thanks for the input. I will definately try out Kabutops and Moltres. New Breed told me to try out Kabutops but for some reason I did not, but sure what's the fault in trying out!
