Introduction:
Hello everybody! First of all I wanna lead off by saying, I'm new to this community and game, of course I've played Pokémon games, but only since a few days I've begon playing this and to be fair, I LOVE IT! I began playing Ubers since some of my friends said it was easyer etc... Well, this is my first team. My first Pokémon game ever was Ruby, I LOVED groudon! So my first team here is a sun team with groudon :D! Before this I used to play yu-gi-oh on a +- competative level, (hence the name of the team) but that died out so Pokémon is my next challenge :D As I said, I'm really new, so my team will be a bit 'noob' and have some major flaws, that's why I post here, so you guys can help me :D! Don't go easy on me, I really need advice :)! (For most pokémon I've used smogon to decide stats etc...)

The Team:

383.gif

Name: Brodon (Groudon)
Item: Leftovers
EV's: 240 HP / 172 DEF / 58 SPE
Nature:Impish
Moves:
  1. Stealth Rock
  2. Earthquake
  3. Flamethrower
  4. Roar
Explanation:
Groudon is my main starter, he gets the sun and the spikes up, I almost always lead with him, the EV's are like that so he's bulky yet he isn't too slow! He got Earthquake for incoming electric types, Roar for if they lead of with an Arceus-Swordsdance or a Calm minder or even a substitute.. I just roar them out making their efforts useless :D! Stealth rocks, obv... and Flamethrower for ferrothorns etc... Most of the time they don't see the flamethrower coming so it's pretty nice to have :D!

250.gif

Name: The Winged Dragon Of Ra! (Ho-Oh)
Item: Leftovers
EV's: 232 HP / 180 ATK / 240 SPE
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
  1. Substitute
  2. Recover
  3. Sacred Fire
  4. Brave Bird
Explanation: Well; once the sun is up this thing is a BEAST! EV's are again obvious... Attacks are aswel.. I run leftovers and Recover for if they have stealth rocks up, it kinda destroys an incoming Ho-Oh and when the battle just begun, you can't afford to lose it... Substitute is to check his moves etc...

649.gif

Name: Slifer The Sky Dragon (Genesect)
Item: Choice Scarfed
EV's: 252 ATK / 32 SPA / 224 SPE
Nature: Hardy
Moves:
  1. U-Turn
  2. Ice Beam
  3. Iron Head
  4. Explosion
Explanation: One of the best of my team! I'm not going to lie, I didn't come up with this one myself, a friend was running a sun team, I showed him mine and he said 'you know what you could use...' and he gave me this one :D! Genesect his ability allows it to just r*pe so much! I use it to destroy Mewtwo (U-turn) or just some incoming dragons. It's speed allows it to destroy even more. I use Explosion when I'm really low on health, kinda desperation attack ;p and Iron Head has saved me so many times! The fact that it can flinch is just legend -wait for it- dary! (How I met Your mother reference!)

644.gif

Name: Obelisk The Tormentor (Zekrom)
Item: Choice Scarfed
EV's: 252 ATK / 4 DEF / 252 SPE
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
  1. Bolt Strike
  2. Volt Switch
  3. Sleep Talk
  4. Draco Meteor
Explanation: My number 1 Kyogre counter! Whenever they lead off with Kyogre, I get this beast in and Bolt Strike it to hell! I run Volt Switch on it which I only use in case I'm not sure about Bolt Strike hitting or when I just want to hit and run! This thing is also my Darkrai counter, hence the sleep talk and I run Draco Meteor on it to destroy incoming dragons. The EV's are here to make Zekrom even more powerfull, the Choice Scarf is for speed and speed only, I like to use him as a Revenge killer, get in, destroy, switch out :)! Being scarfed really helps.

493.gif

Name: Morgan Freeman (Arceus-Normal)
Item: LifeOrb
EV's: 88 HP / 252 ATK / 168 SPE
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
  1. Shadow Claw
  2. Recover
  3. Swords Dance
  4. ExtremeSpeed
Explanation: Well, this thing is here to destroy... Whenever they get a Deoxys in to set up rocks/spikes I lead off with this, if they don't run taunt the game is mine! Swords Dance + ExtremeSpeed is just pure domination! I run Shadow Claw to kill Giratina's becaus they can live a few Extremespeeds... Recover is here because I run life orb... I think I need to change these tho, I don't know ;p!

249.gif

Name: HighFive! (Lugia)
Item: Leftovers
EV's: 252 HP / 176 DEF / 80 SPD
Nature: Bold
Moves:
  1. Roost
  2. Dragon Tail
  3. Toxic
  4. Ice Beam
Explanation: He's my wall! With the rest of my team I don't really need him that much, but when they overpower me this one here saves me every damn time! He's so bulky and so amazing, if they are running some pokémon which got to many +2 or +4 or +6's I switch in and dragon tail it ;D!

Last Words:
Thanks for reading, I know this won't really be a ground breaking team, I'm to 'new' and to unskilled to come up with a better team, I hope in the future I will tho ;p I just made this to get some tips so, feel free to give as much advice possible! I know my explanations aren't that in depth, that's just because I don't know enough to give good reasons etc :p! Thanks <3

Arnout, your team seems to have potential, but there are a few things you might want to note:

1. Your team seems weak to Stealth Rock, which could severly hinder your Ho-Oh and Lugia's roles. I'd recommend Espeon to be used, where it's Magic Bounce ability helps in bouncing back Hazards and Status moves, giving your team more longevity.
i'd recommend replacing Lugia for Espeon, since from the way I see it, your team looks better off going for Offense instead of Balanced. Lugia won't really be needed if you can keep up your attacking momentum constantly.

196.gif

Espeon @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shadow Ball

This Espeon here will help in bouncing off Hazards and status moves in your team, while still maintaining offensive momentum. Grass Knot is used to hit weather summoners like Groudon, Kyogre and Tyranitar hard. HP Fire is for stuff like Ferrothorn and Forretress who try to attack you head-on, thinking that they wall your moves. Shadow Ball is for Pokes like Giratina. Psyshock can be used as a STAB move to hit pokes like Blissey/Blaziken hard. Since Espeon is frail, Focus Sash allows Espeon to survive and do some damage if the need arises.

2. Zekrom might not be an appropriate counter to Kyogre, especially since Water Spout, particularly from the Specs Variant can do enormous damage to Zekrom and flee, leaving your team vulnerable since Zekrom cannot come in and threaten Kyogre again. If a Specs Kyogre Ice Beams, its a OHKO, further showing how a Switch-in Kyogre could threaten your team greatly.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyogre Water Spout vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zekrom in rain: 336-396 (98.53 - 116.12%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyogre Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zekrom: 380-448 (111.43 - 131.37%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Even for non-specs Variants:
252+ SpA Kyogre Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zekrom: 254-300 (74.48 - 87.97%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Kyogre Water Spout vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zekrom in rain: 224-264 (65.68 - 77.41%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
This shows how Zekrom sustains too much damage from Kyogre, and hence cannot be claimed to be a solid counter to Kyogre.

As such, I'll like to recommend Latias over Zekrom in the case of your team.
380.gif

Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 196 Spd / 164 HP / 148 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
A Latias set taken from the Latias Ubers Analysis articles http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3469166. This Latias allows you to be able to wall the likes of Kyogre (Except Choice Specs Ice Beam, in which you can simply switch to Ho-Oh to tank a choiced Ice Beam.) and still strike hard back. Draco Meteor is used to hit other Dragons/ Dragon switch-ins, Roost for recovery, Psyshock for a strong neutral STAB move, and finally HP Fire for for Genesect switch-ins, as well as for Ferrothorn and Forretress (once again).

Calcs:
252+ SpA Kyogre Ice Beam vs. 164 HP / 0 SpD Soul Dew Latias: 136-160 (39.76 - 46.78%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyogre Water Spout vs. 164 HP / 0 SpD Soul Dew Latias in rain: 179-211 (52.33 - 61.69%) -- guaranteed 2HKO <-- This is the only issue you have to note, do try to roost back up or injure Kyogre to weaken Water Spout's power.
252+ SpA Kyogre Water Spout vs. 164 HP / 0 SpD Soul Dew Latias in rain: 120-141 (35.08 - 41.22%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

3. You might want to revert to a build of 252HP/240Def/16Speed for your Groudon, this would enable Groudon to be able to tank a +2 Attack Arceus and phaze it out, ensuring that your team is not completely vulnerable against the dreaded Extremekiller. In my opinion, a support Groudon does not need so much speed creep. Also with 16 Speed, you can still outrun most support Dialgas.

+2 252+ Atk Silk Scarf Arceus-Normal ExtremeSpeed vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Groudon: 186-220 (46.03 - 54.45%) -- 6.64% chance to 2HKO
Shows how you can afford to damage Extremekiller while it sets up, and Groudon can switch in to wall and phaze it out. With lesser health left, Arceus becomes more easy to handle later on.

4. You put in more than 510EVs for your Arceus. (Probably a typo error I guess)

I hope my rate has been helpful :)

Thanks! I will try the Espeon later today, as for the Groudon, genius o.0 Thanks you so much :D! I don't know about the latias tho as I don't have any darkrai counters without Zekrom, I'll consider it and test/try etc :D! Thank you so much!

Note that there isn't always a need for sleep talk. Espeon's magic bounce allows you to bounce back Darkrai's Dark Void and put itself to sleep instead if you can time your switch-in properly. Beware of a predicted Dark Pulse/Sub though. (Though your sash will at least allow you to break the Sub with a Grass Knot). Also, if you dont want to risk Espeon, you can also try giving sleep fodder such as Groudon. Afterall, once Groudon places rocks and brings in the Sun, it's job is almost done. Of course, you might have to use Genesect to explode and bring down Extremekiller with you if the situation demands for it.
