WINNING
Hey guys this is my first BW team. I'm very new to 5th Gen battling, but I was very successful in 4th Gen. I try not to do what everyone else is doing, and at the moment everyone is using weather, so I didn't want to make a weather team. I also prefer to not use legendaries, but I'd use one if there was no other replacement. I always base my teams off Dragonite, and this team is no different. The rest of the team does as much as it can to clear way for a Dragonite sweep. BTW, I would have titled this "My First 5th Gen RMT" but that's what everyone titles his or hers. That's why I titled mine what it does: Winning
Breloom @ Choice Scarf
Technician
Jolly
28 HP, 252 Atk, 228 Spd
-Spore
-Force Palm
-Mach Punch
-Bullet Seed
Usually I try to anticipate what the opponent is sending out (I play on DS with team preview). A lot of times I send my Breloom to Spore whatever, then have an appropriate switch-in to scare out his or her entry hazarder. Preventing entry hazards is kind-of important and this set helps. Breloom is helpful later on in the game when I need a revenge kill or a Spore. I probably need to change this set.
Darmanitan @ Life Orb
Sheer Force
Adamant
4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd
-Flare Blitz
-Taunt
-Brick Break
-U-Turn
For the steels that Dragonite needs gone, Darmanitan destroys. A Flare Blitz coming from 416 atk cleanly OHKOs Ferrothorn, Skarmory and Forretress. Taunt helps things that try to set up on my switch. U-Turn to get out. Brick Break due to no stat reductions. I'm pretty sure this set needs to be changed.
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trace
Calm
252 HP, 252 SpD, 4 SpA
-Thunder Wave
-Charge Beam
-Ice Beam
-Recover
This is my special wall. Nothing can take this down. Thanks to the Eviolite, this thing's defenses are incredible. Usually I Thunder Wave as many things as I can possible. I Recover off the damage as I increase my SpA thanks to Charge Beam. Ice Beam-Charge Beam combo hits most pokemon. The ability Trace is really fun and useful at times. This set has worked extremely well for me; the only possible change I can think of is Thunderbolt over Charge Beam, but the SpA increase lets me hit hard.
Alakazam @ Choice Scarf
Magic Guard
Modest
4 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spd
-Trick
-Psychic
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice
I keep this as insurance for many +1 and scarfed things. It outspeeds Garchomp and Haxorus and KOs with Hidden Power. STAB Psychic from Alakazam atleast usually 2HKOs most things I come across. Focus Blast for predicted switch-ins to darks or steels. Trick to cripple things. Alakazam is really frail though, but this hasn't been too much of a problem for me.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Impish
252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpD
-Brave Bird
-Stealth Rock
-Whirlwind
-Roost
This is usually my safest switch-in to any physical attacker. Unless I get taunted or faced with a special attacker, I Stealth Rock, Whirlwind and Roost as long as I can to weaken the other team. Spikes would be better for this shuffling, but I don't have another Stealth Rock-er. This EV layout helps a lot better than the specially defensive set, because it can continually take physical hits and just Roost+Whirlwind off. Getting Taunt-ed sucks, but most things that Taunt get damaged significantly by Brave Bird.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Multiscale
Adamant
252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Spd
-Extremespeed
-Outrage
-Dragon Dance
-Roost
From the days of Generation 1, Dragonite has been my favorite pokemon. Each new generation, admittedly, stronger and better dragons have been available. I still used Dragonite, with it's only advantage being that it can use Extremespeed. Now Dragonite stands alone from the other powerful dragons with Multiscale. This ability, if used correctly, wins games singlehandedly. If Stealth Rocks are up, I Roost on the switch to a counter and then Dragon Dance. If there are no Stealth Rocks up and Dragonite comes in, I almost always Dragon Dance. Then I Dragon Dance again while I take any hit that comes at me. Usually by the time Dragonite comes out, the steels are gone, and paralysis is spread. I Roost to scout things, lose one Ice weakness, as well as get the inevitable parahax. After 2+ Dragon Dances, which I almost always succeed in, it is about game over. I Extremespeed until I have to Outrage. Extremespeed OHKOs a lot after 2 DDs and Outrage indefinitely OHKOs.
That's about it for my team. I just made it recently, but I've tested it out. I'm no where near as successful as I was in Gen 4, when I first started competitive battling. I know there are flaws with my team and I hope you guys can help me fix them.
