[OVERVIEW]
Diglett is one of the main threats in Black and White Little Cup. It is the fastest unboosted pokemon in the metagame. While its offensive stats are average, Diglett still creates immense offensive pressure through its ability Arena Trap, which makes opposing grounded pokemon unable to switch. This means that Diglett can pick off weakened and defensively frail pokemon at its leisure. However, one must be careful with positioning as Diglett is susceptible to being revenge killed or counter trapped due to its below average defensive stats.

Move 1: Earthquake
Move 2: Beat Up
Move 3: Substitute/Sucker Punch
Move 4: Final Gambit/Stealth Rock/ Pursuit
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Arena Trap:
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Earthquake is Diglett's preferred move as it has STAB and its only drawback of not hitting airborne pokemon is negated by arena trap. Beat Up allows Diglett to remove Focus Sash Abra cleanly. However, one has to be careful as Beat Up usually requires that its user to have 3 healthy pokemon and Diglett to hit enough times to OHKO. Beat Up also provides coverage to hit Gastly and Drifloon which otherwise run wild against Diglett. Diglett can use substitite when Pawniard to dodge a Sucker Punch as well as trapping a choice-locked electric type so it can force chip on the revenge killer. Final Gambit lets Diglett trap chipped Mienfoos and other bulky pokemon, albeit at the cost of Diglett fainting as well. There also is utility in using Final Gambit against a Porygon trying to counter trap Diglett. Pursuit forces damage on fleeing airborne ghost and psychic pokemon, limiting future switch ins or KOing weakened pokemon outright.

[SET COMMENTS]
When given an Air Balloon, Diglett is able to avoid being counter trapped by Trace Porygon as well as the ability to counter trap opposing Digletts. This is because Air Balloon makes its holder airborne and Arena Trap only prevents grounded pokemon from switching.
