WOMBO COMBO!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a link to the combo wombo combo

Now that that's out of the way. Hi, I'm desklamp, this is my second RMT and this team has had a good bit of success. On the account LampOnADesk I have achieved a CRE of 1337 after dancing around that number. I do want to climb higher with this team, but my CRE has stalled around 1350 so I turned to the smogon boards for help.

By the way, in order to keep this from being a really bog standard rmt, I decided to theme it around the WOMBO COMBO!!!111

Team creation process:

emespr376.png

As weird as it sounds, I started this team with the lead in mind. I wanted to abuse Lum Berry Metagross to start this team off with rocks or a neat KO.

emespr376.png
emespr380.png

I started to look for a pokemon that had a lot of synergy with Metagross. Latias loves to come in on Fire and Ground attacks aimed at revenging Metagross after he gets rocks up or kills something. Choice Scarf Latias is blindingly fast and I love it. It outspeeds so much and counters alot of threats.

emespr376.png
emespr380.png
greenspr134.png

I'm starting to see a good Heatran, Tyranitar, and Scizor weakness growing with a frail Choice Scarf Latias, so I decided to nip it in the bud with Vaporeon. It counters both Scizor and Heatrans that like to come in and hit my frail Latias with a pretty strong move.

emespr380.png
greenspr134.png
emespr286.png

However, CBTar and most other TTars still cause alot of damage to this team since nothing can really hurt a rampaging bulky TTar that can come in on Latias and Vaporeon. A bulky Leech Seed Breloom can come in, and just wreck havoc on the opposing team and knock TTar out cold.

Looking at my team, there is still no fast and strong physical attacker on this team. Bog standard CBScizor patches this hole up and has great synergy with Vappy and Latias.

Here I noticed a fire weakness with two steels and a grass. Patching the hole up with Heatran doesn't suit my tastes very well so I decided to use a DDTTar that can come in at the end and sweep their team, or come in the middle and wreck havoc on things.

A closer look:

No Arkeis pictures this time because everyone uses them.

Falcon the Metagross
Metagross @ Lum Berry
Clear Body
Adamant
252 Hp/ 236 Atk/ 12 Def/ 8 Spe

-Meteor Mash
-Bullet Punch
-Stealth Rocks
-Explosion

Just like Falcon in the wombo combo, Metagross starts the game by setting up Stealth Rocks. I like Metagross leads because it usually gets up rocks or KO's the opposing lead bar Heatran, Infernape, and Anti-Leads like Starmie and Dragonite. Lum Berry lets me take a Spore/Sleep Powder to the face from Roserade and Smeargle and punch them in the face. I prefer the Lum Berry because Smeargle and Roserade are used more than Heatran and Infernape is countered by Latias.

Meteor Mash is for a strong STAB attack that hits floating things like Azelf and Aerodactyl. Bullet Punch is priority that picks off weakened pokemon after a Mash. Stealth Rocks is the all important entry hazard, and Explosion is a ridiculously strong move.

Synergy:
Fire: Latias, Vaporeon, Tyranitar in rare cases
Ground: Latias, Breloom

How he fares against the top 10 leads:

482.png

Azelf: Meteor Mash as they Taunt or set-up rocks, Bullet Punch for the kill.

The dual screen leads give me problems though, but I usually go into Latias or Scizor after the first Mash depending on what Screen they use. If I don't get rocks up, Metagross can come back in later to set them up because he's pretty bulky.

376.png

Metagross: Set up rocks as they do. If they EQ then I go into Breloom immediately to set up some Sleep and Subs. Mashing Metagrosses get Vappy in their face. Ones with both EQ and Mash get Vappy who walls them nicely.

385.png

Jirachi: Set up rocks and see what they do. Scarf leads that give me a scarf don't phase me as I can go into Breloom and put stuff to sleep, Bulky leads see the Lum Berry and I send out Vappy to wall them.

142.png

Aerodactyl: Mash + Bullet Punch for the kill. If they Taunt they don't get rocks, if they get up rocks I can get rocks up after they die.

260.png

Swampert: I get rocks up and switch to Breloom. Not much of a threat.

392.png

Infernape: Go into Latias/Vaporeon to wall it and take it down.

407.png

Roserade: Mash as they try to sleep me, Bullet Punch for the kill, then get rocks up. Cool story bro.

450.png

Hippowdon: Set up rocks, go into Vaporeon/Breloom. Again, not a problem.

291.png

Ninjask: Set up rocks as they protect, and Bullet Punch them to net damage on them as they sub. If they subbed the first turn I'll just Mash at it. Haven't been seeing them but I don't think they will be much of a problem.

235.png

Smeargle: See Roserade

The revenge killing duo:

200px-Latias_2.png

Fox the Latias
Latias @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Timid
252 SpAtk/ 252 Spe/ 6 Hp

-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Trick

Like Fox, this speedy bastard is almost broken in this metagame and abuses its speed to revenge kill alot of things. Also, recycling descriptions is fun!

Faster than a Dancing Salamence, Stronger than a raging Gyarados, able to scare Infernapes with a single bound it's... ScarfLatias! Outspeeding Mences and Gyaras with one dance and OHKOing them, it hurts stuff. It hurts them dead. Trick gets rid of a scarf to cripple walls, but it is usually necessary for Latias to do what it does. Draco Meteor is an immense STAB that is only resisted by Steels while Surf and TBolt provide coverage for my speeding little buddy.

Synergy:
Dragon: Scizor, Metagross
Ice: Scizor, Metagross, Vaporeon
Bug: Scizor
Ghost: Scizor, Tyranitar, Metagross
Dark: Scizor, Tyranitar, Breloom

Scizor.jpg

That Ain't Falco the Scizor
Scizor @ Choice Band
Technician
Adamant
248 Hp/ 252 Atk/ 8 Spe

-Bullet Punch
-U-Turn
-Superpower
-Pursuit

Scizor is also like Fox from the wombo combo, since there were 3 of them in the match. Thus, I have an excuse to relate this to Fox, and it is certainly not Falco. Anyway, bog standard CB Scizor is boring. Revenge kills things, hurts things, U-Turns things, it does stuff. And it doesn't afraid of anything.

Bullet Punch is powerful priority, U-Turn is powerful and is fun to U-Turn spam, Superpower for rare occasions when I need to put the hurt on something, and Pursuit for Latiases and the odd Rotom-A that isn't switching into this thing. And generally for all ghosts in general.

Synergy:
Fire: Latias, Vaporeon, Tyranitar

The defensive support:

180px-Vaporeon_anime.jpg

Chain Grab the Vaporeon
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold
252 Def/ 188 Hp/ 68 SpAtk

-Surf
-Heal Bell
-Wish
-Protect

Vaporeon is the duct tape that binds this team together, much like the series of chain grabs in the wombo combo. It provides Wish Support to my team, cures them of crippling status like Paralyze and Burn, and fends off Salamence and Gyarados if Latias is gone. It laughs at Heatrans and Scizors and does alot for the team.

Wish and Protect give me healing on pretty much everyone, Surf is a powerful STAB moves that fends off things that take neutral/SE damage from it, and Heal Bell is a new toy that lets me heal guys, which is kind of redundant on Breloom, but it really helps when Breloom is statused on entry and it lets me get Toxic Orb off.

Synergy:
Electric: Breloom, Latias
Grass: Breloom, Latias, Scizor, Metagross

180px-Kenny%27s_Breloom.jpg

Happy Feet the Breloom
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Impish
236 Hp/ 248 Def/ 24 Spe

-Substitute
-Leech Seed
-Spore
-Focus Punch

The prelude to the TTar sweep and the adhesive on the duct tape. This little guy is largely my pivot on this team. It comes in on random threats and messes with people. It is very annoying and causes rage quits. It provides and answer to TTar, Magnezone, and outstalls alot of things with its absurd amount of healing. EV's are from the analysis and gives Breloom alot of bulk to work with.

Substitute shields me from hits and works well with Focus Punch for ridiculous STAB. Leech Seed lets me heal alot and drain hp, and Spore puts things to sleep and helps TTar set up a sweep.

Synergy:
Flying: Scizor, Metagross, Tyranitar
Poison: Scizor, Metagross
Fire: Latias, Vaporeon, Tyranitar
Psychic: Latias, Tyranitar, Scizor, Metagross
Ice: Scizor, Vaporeon, Metagross

The endgame:

225px-Vicious%27s_Tyranitar.png

The Knee the Tyranitar
Tyranitar @ Babiri Berry
Sandstream
Jolly
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 Hp

-Dragon Dance
-Crunch
-Fire Punch
-Stone Edge

No, one pokemon is not the wombo combo, it is a team effort to make every one scream in excitement. Rather, Tyranitar is Captain Falcon's knee, causing massive pain and suffering everywhere it goes. Dragon Dance and Jolly help me hit 364 Spe after one DD, giving me a ton of extra Speed. Tyranitar loves to come in on CBScizors that use Pursuit, Rotoms without Will O Wisp, and Magnezones. Otherwise, he comes in on frail threats and blasts them into oblivion after a Dragon Dance or two. Fortress is huge set-up fodder for me along with other walls that can't really hurt me.

Crunch and Stone Edge are STABs, while Fire Punch and Babiri Berry stop Scizors that think they can easily revenge kill me. Dragon Dance helps me sweep.

Synergy:
Bug: Scizor
Fighting: Latias
Ground: Latias, Breloom
Steel: Scizor, Vaporeon, Breloom
Water: Vaporeon, Breloom, Latias
Grass: Breloom, Latias, Scizor

Anyway, that's my team. Thanks for taking the time to read this far into it and hopefully you can help me. My main concern at the moment is the lack of Ground moves on this team, as I have nothing to hit Electric types like Electivire, Lanturn, and other Electric types. I've been swept by a Lanturn before because of that. I don't really know where I can fit in an Earthquake on this team though. Earthquake might work over Stone Edge on Tyranitar, but then I can't hit flyers for alot of damage, and Gyarados and Salamence love to switch in on my first Dragon Dance, and without Stone Edge I'd be forced out or I would be KO'd.

Hey desklamp, cool team you got here. On your lead Metagross I think an alternate spread of 200 HP / 232 Atk / 32 Spd / 44 SDef would be beneficial as it allows you to outspeed most lead Metagross and 2HKO first with Earthquake.

As for weaknesses I see quite a huge weakness to SD Lucario. Once it gets that Swords Dance its most likely good game. So I suggest replacing Breloom for Gliscor. It helps deal with most Tyranitar to an extent, Lucario, as well as stall. I don't really see Breloom as a reliable Tyranitar counter as most Tyranitar usually run Fire attacks from what I've experienced.

Gliscor @ Leftovers | Sand Veil
Jolly | 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 Spe
Earthquake / Toxic / Roost / Taunt

With the use of Taunt plus Toxic your able to weaken stall Pokemon, notable Hippowdon and Swampert (as long as you catch it with Taunt on the switch in) who are 2 notable Tyranitar counters. It also helps against Rotom-A who can be quite troublesome to this team as no one likes Burns so Taunting it and then switching into Tyranitar can get you a free turn in setting up.

Hope I helped!
