[SET COMMENTS]
Boasting decent bulk boosted further by its great defensive typing and ability, Mega Venusaur is a good tank capable of answering Pokemon like Ogerpon-W, Iron Valiant, and Zamazenta. Earth Power lets Mega Venusaur get consistent damage against crucial targets like Kingambit, Gholdengo, Toxapex, and Raging Bolt that could otherwise switch in on Mega Venusaur's STAB moves. Synthesis allows it to reliably answer Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Urshifu-R throughout the course of a game. It helps patch up Mega Venusaur's weakness to entry hazards, (AC) and it also pairs well with Sludge Bomb's chance of poison, allowing it to stall turns as the poison chips away at the foe's HP. The granted EV spread helps Mega Venusaur in the bulk department while also allowing it to deal significant damage to important targets. 100 Speed EVs allow Mega Venusaur to outrun uninvested Landorus-T and Jolly Kingambit.
Mega Venusaur fits best on bulky balance and bulky offense teams where its role as an answer with good damage-dealing potential to common Pokemon such as Urshifu-R, Tapu Koko, and Zamazenta is appreciated. Mega Venusaur is one of the best Ogerpon-W answers in the tier, being able to tank its hits no matter the set. This is a crucial role to fulfill for bulkier teams, as Ogerpon-W often proves problematic for these structures. Mega Venusaur's ability to take on Water-and Fairy-types like Alomomola, Ogerpon-W, and Iron Valiant can be useful for Ground-and Dark-types like Gliscor, Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Ting-Lu. In return, they can help against Galarian Slowking, and the former three can also remove entry hazards. Mega Venusaur is quite weak to Spikes, and as such, having a hazard remover is crucial. Mega Venusaur can also be good support for Kingambit, Terapagos, and Roaring Moon by switching into common Fighting-types like Zamazenta, Great Tusk, and Urshifu-R. Terapagos can remove hazards for Mega Venusaur, and Roaring Moon can take care of Mega Charizard Y. Psychic-types like Tapu Lele and Mega Latios give Mega Venusaur trouble. Steel-types like Gholdengo, Melmetal, (AC) and Heatran can help with this issue. Mega Venusaur also has a poor matchup into Flying-types such as Tornadus-T, Moltres, and Zapdos; in this regard, Tapu Koko and Raging Bolt make for great partners.
