World population.....

Gotta say this is one creative thread. Anyway I don't think all statics on that website are accurate, because it is just impossible, but yes there are too many people on this little planet, so why not fly to moon and live american dream? :pimp:

It's pretty terrible that we're gonna kill ourselves because we can't keep it in our damn pants. You need a combination of things to keep the population down; some kind of disaster (natural or not), better sex education, and some kind of limit on how many children someone can have.

Having a limit on children might sound crazy to some and nearly impossible to put into place and enforce but we need to stop a population growth somehow, it's a much nicer alternative than deciding to kill random people or some other crap. With so many countries having strong health care we just live a lot longer, reproducing so much is irresponsible. Multiple European countries have shown that sex education at a younger age lowers teen pregnancy rate which is a pretty good way to go about stopping a population growth. Disasters are self-explanatory.

FUCK

$ 2,623,834,053
Public Healthcare expenditure today
$ 2,314,653,802
Public Education expenditure today
$ 1,191,986,256
Public Military expenditure today

I thought about this, and the third expenditure source seems like the one we'd want to ween ourselves off of the most followed far behind by the first source. We give up too quickly on peace negotiations as a world society, and although universal governmental healthcare is infinitely better than the private healthcare system in the US right now, insurance companies could be great things if we worked on taking the "crimes against humanity" part out of the business model. And education is so dire :x

Solve the world population problem: let India and Pakistan fight it out with nukes.

Or more seriously, just support education in the world -- more educated countries have fewer children.

Just supporting sex education on younger ages should be sufficient. Unfortunately, at least here on Brazil, the false moralism dominates people's minds, and the result is there to "speak" for itself: Lots of preteen girls and boys that have STD, the poorest families are those that have the most children, etc.

Eh, I don't know about you guys, but getting annoyed over our ever-increasing population seems pointless. Even if we did limit births(which honestly doesn't seem feasible), our medical technology is only getting better by the day. Eventually we'll find the cure things like cancer and we might even create a catch-all cure to obesity; overpopulation is inevitable. I'm sure we'll think of how to deal with it when the time comes (no wars plz).
