Wrath of the Birds (Peaked 1550+)

CTNC

Doesn't know how to attack
Hello, I am Climmy Teh No0b Cat. A wise man once told me, "Even if you win, ask for advise." I love this team and have a rating in the 1500 with it, but I can't help but it feels like it could be improved. (I don't care about the flying/bird theme, so you don't have to keep it in mind.)

Team Building Process

I became interested in this duo for no reason whatsoever.

I added decided to add Pinsir for a brutal Triple Flying barrage. I admit this wasn't my idea, but it sounded fun.

I like using Level 1 Pokemon... In my defense, Taillow has Scrappy and no one else seems to know that. (until I battle them anyway...) I haven't been disappointed by Taillow in this generation or the last.

I needed Hazard Removal and Excadrill had a typing that was good for this team.

Honestly, I'm not sure why I went with Rotom, but I don't regret it.

Taillow didn't quite fit on this team and I knew I needed something to take hits. For a long time I couldn't find anything that worked, then an opponent annoyed me with Porygon2. I had found the bulk I was looking for.

Excadrill's speed had been bothering me and I wasn't getting many opportunities to use Stealth Rock, so I decided to replace him with Latias.

In Depth Look

rotom-wash.png

Dry Cleaner (Rotom-Wash) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

The flying/bird theme for this team was unintentional but while I have it I'm saying, "The washing machine flies, therefore, I can conclude that it's a bird." Anyway, I usually lead with this bird and ether use Volt Switch or Trick. I like this bird's power and STABs, but I can't help but feel that this bird isn't carrying its weight as much as it could.
talonflame.png

Sweat Pants (Talonflame) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 48 HP / 252 Atk / 208 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp

With this guy, just spam Brave Bird. It has Priority and hits hard. The other moves are filler, each more filler than the last. Flare Blitz is for non priority STAB, U-turn is is for if you're faster and need to switch out, and Will-O-Wisp is never used. The EVs let Talonflame outspeed Pinsir's Quick Attack.
staraptor.png

Staraptor (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Double-Edge
- U-turn

With this guy, just spam Brave Bird. You outspeed any nonscarfed Pokemon other than Deoxys-Speed and it hits hard. Scarfed Staraptor is like a Talonflame with better coverage, but with high speed instead of priority. I would like to know the best EV spread for Adamant Scarf Staraptor because I fell like I'm wasting some EVs in Speed.
pinsir-mega.png

Face Eater (Pinsir) (M) @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SAtk
- Frustration
- Earthquake
- Quick Attack
- Swords Dance

With this guy, just spam Brave Bird... I mean Frustaration. This is the most powerful of the flying spam trio and also the one that uses the least move spamming. If you predict a switch out, use Sword Dance. Flying resist other than Rotom? Earthquake. Finishing off Pokemon is obviously what Quick Attack is for. The reason for Frustration instead of Return is Dittos usually have max happiness.
latias.png

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Defog
- Healing Wish

I have three Pokemon weak to Stealth Rock, so Defog is Required. Draco Meteor is the obligatory huge damage move and Surf is coverage. I have two Pokemon that give themselves lots of damage and one that takes any hard hitting move, but I can't seem to find the right time or recognize it for Healing Wish.
porygon2.png

110011101 (Porygon2) @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball
- Toxic
- Recover

This guy is bulky. This guy is so bulky it's stupid. I can't discribe how bulky Porygon is, so here's a replay that shows how bulky he is. The way to use Porygon2 is ask if you need something to take a hit. If you do, send in Porygon. I added him for the bulk, but he does a surprising amount of Damage with Ice Beam and Toxic. Thunderbolt is only used when Toxic and Ice Beam won't work, so I'm testing Shadow Ball in that moveslot.

Thank you for reading and keep in mind, I'm willing to listen to any advise.
