Intro
Well this is a team I have been messing around with. Its my third team now. The first being a pure sweeper team so I could get my predictions tested. The second one being more balanced but I received help with 4/6 of the pokemon from someone else. Now I have this one that I have just put together with no true reason but it has been doing pretty well but I know it can be better.
The Team
Aerodactyl @Life Orb
Hasty 42Hp/252Atk/216Spe
Stone Edge
Ice Fang
Earthquake
Crunch
My Lead. He can outspeed most non-scarfed pokemon and has some nice type coverage. I am debating his EVs though. 216 with Hasty gives him the EVs to outspeed all non-scarfed Weavile and some other notables but I don't see many Weavile starters. If I did change it I would probably do 36Hp/252Atk/220Spe with the Lonely nature suggested so I can outspeed all Non-scarfed Gengar rather than hoping to break a speed tie.
I sort of debate the Life Orb. I miss out on some OHKs because of it. Most notably T-Tar and Gyara leads but the ability to change moves helps him hit unprepared teams hard. Crunch to hit Gengar and Azelf leads hard. Ice Fang hit’s the dragons hard if they come in.
Gengar @Choice Scarf
Timid 4Hp/252SpA/252Spe
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Hp Ice[70]
Focus Blast
This guy is for coverage. He was originally a Magnezone to kill off the steels but I found Magnezone constantly being 2HKO’d by everything so he was pretty much deadweight after killing a steel. It also seemed the most common thing to kill him was a dragon which was lame since it made his HP Ice useless.
I scarfed it to be safe. Near the end of games it seemed that if something faster came in I had a little trouble to take it out. Most notably Garchomp and Starmie who gave me quite a bit of problems before this Gengar joined the team. He is also my Celebi killer if Aero fails.
Gliscor @Leftovers
Impish 252Hp/4Atk/252Def
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Taunt
Roost
This guy is a great physical wall. This was originally Bright Powder Garchomp but basically every team is prepared to handle Chomps. I also needed a dependable wall. This guy has worked out great. Taunt is stop slower walls or to catch someone trying to set up on the switch. I think this guy is self-explanatory though he is basically just to counter some threats.
Tyranitar @Leftovers
Quiet 252Hp/64Atk/24Spe/168SpA
Substitute
Dark Pulse
Ice Beam
Focus Punch
This team was originally made just to test some guys that I have never used before. I never used a Tyraniboah and thought it was unappealing but I didn’t want to judge it before it was tested. It works sometimes and other times he is just an instant death. Most of the time he is just death fodder after he sets up the sand =\
Suicune @Leftovers
Bold 252Hp/252Def/4Spe
Rest
Sleep Talk
Calm Mind
Surf
My status absorbing wall that has the ability to sweep if given the time. I have debated between Surf, Ice Beam, and Hp Elec[70]. I still use Surf because it still hit’s the most except for Water Absorbers. I am pretty sure the Surf will stay unless enough of you guys suggest something else.
Just had a battle vs. a guy using Celebi and we got into a stall war. Surf couldn’t kill it so maybe Ice Beam? In the end surf was more helpful since he had Heatran and Jirachi left but just wondering. I know Gengar handles Celebi but yea.
Deoxys-E @Leftovers
Impish 252Hp/100Def/156SpD
Knock Off
Recover
Spikes
Stealth Rock
Ok I lied a little. This is my wtf set. But it works surprisingly well and can normally set up all 3 layers of spikes plus SR. Just to save you time the spread gives it 304 Life, 265Def, 255 SpD. I really didn’t know what defense I wanted to cover so I covered them both. It really seems like a waste of his nature =\ Physical guys usually come in after walls do so I think I
might lean more towards that what do you think.
This guy can actually come in on a lot of things. Usually then my opponent will switch to a wall so I get to set up a free turn of rocks/spikes. Eventually they will switch to a counter but by then I should have a decent layer of spikes. The reason I like this guy for utility is because he is faster so even if he will die that turn he gets a layer up.
Knock Off is so he can do a little damage and to screw over other guys. It hurts walls that come in or counters with Choice items. I considered Cosmic Power but I don’t want to set up without any attacks. I don’t have SR and Knock Off on Gliscor because below I really just like the flexibility of this guy.
This guy is a Blissey/Celebi magnet. Most people send them in to T-Wave me.
I don’t know sorry if that was boring or horrible wrong or something.
Threats List
I am plan to update this with pokemon that give me tough times in a battle and so far that hasn’t really been any. I know I could go off the standard but I won’t know how I do vs. them until I actually face them. I guess this is the lazy way out.
Please help fix my team.
