X and Y Monotype-Ice

Well, first off, let's start off with my reasons for making this team. I am in a league where we have badges and such. Since all gym leaders are monotype, we were required to choose a type of Pokémon and make a team around it. I chose Ice because it is my favorite type and I enjoy playing with it. One thing to note, is that this team does not revolve around hail, since weather conditions took a major hit in 6th gen. Without further ado, here is the team

MegaAbomasnow-Pokemon-X-and-Y.jpg

Abomasnow @ Abomasite
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 SpAtk/ 4 SpDef
Brave Nature
-Giga Drain
-Earthquake
-Ice Shard
-Blizzard
Abomasnow has always been a staple in the Ice metagame. Now with the addition of a mega, it gains additional bulk and even gains the same base stats for both SpAtk and Atk. I decided to go with a mixed attacker here to take advantage of it's boosts. Blizzard always hits in the hail introduced when he comes into play. Giga Drain to hit annoying Rock types that may pose a threat to him. Ice Shard to get off a hit before it gets KOed, and earthquake to deal with Steel types, which are extremely common
Walrein_by_Xous54.png

Walrein @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP/ 4 Def/ 252 SpDef
Calm Nature
-Toxic
-Surf
-Encore
-Roar
Encore forces the opponent to use a non-boosted attack or let one of Walrein's teammates set up. Usually, it forces a switch, allowing you to Toxic another opposing Pokemon. Toxic, being essential for stalling, is necessary for a wall such as Walrein. Depending on what coverage is needed for the team, either Surf or Ice Beam can be used. Surf hits Fire-types that Walrein can easily switch into, and also hits Rock / Ground Pokemon that threaten Walrein with super effective Rock-type attacks. Roar to be able to poison more Pokemon
478Froslass.png

Froslass @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SpAtk/ 252 Spd
Timid Nature
-Spikes
-Destiny Bond
-Taunt
-Shadow Ball
Fast and annoying, Froslass is one of best Pokémon on this team. It is able to almost always get at least one set of spikes out. Following that, you use a destiny bond and drag the opponent down with you. I usually bring it out to counter the opponents Mega-Pokémon. With it's massive speed, it's difficult to counter unless you have higher speed or access to bullet punch. Taunt is there so that they have to attack
250px-473Mamoswine.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk/ 4 Def/ 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
-Earthquake
-Icicle Crash
-Ice Shard
-Superpower
Mamoswine is here to simply hit hard. With it's large attack stat, and it's somewhat diverse move pool, Mamoswine hits near everything for mutual damage. I never bring this out against something unless I know full well that it's faster than the opponent, this is due to it's frail defenses. Overall, it's a nice addition to the team, and almost always gets at least 1 or 2 KO's before fainting.
Glaceon.png

Glaceon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Ice Body
EVs: 252 SpAtk/ 4 SpDef/ 252 Spd
Modest Nature
-Baton Pass
-Ice Beam
-Signal Beam
-Hidden Power (Ground)
Choice Specs allows Glaceon to serve as a powerful wallbreaker, being able to deal heavy damage to many Pokemon in the tier. Ice Beam serves as strong and reliable STAB, able to 2HKO Audino and Lickilicky after Stealth Rock damage. Hidden Power Ground hits Steel-types such as Probopass as well as some Fire-types such as Rapidash. Signal Beam hits Jynx and Musharna hard and serves as a filler in general. The last moveslot makes full use of Glaceon's relatively poor movepool. Baton Pass allows Glaceon to switch out of its counters and resort to a teammate, while Frost Breath allows it to bypass Calm Mind Musharna.
Cloyster_AG_anime.png

Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 Hp/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
-Shell Smash
-Icicle Spear
-Rock Blast
-Ice Shard
Typical annoying Cloyster set and by far the best Pokémon on this team. Usually is able to KO at least 2 Pokémon and sometimes the entire team. I will not be taking this Pokémon out of the team, it is just too strong

Now, for suggestions. Any builds you recommend or Pokémon that I should replace? I was thinking of putting in a Avalugg, but I'm unsure of what to replace and what build it should have. Thanks for taking the time to read this. It's my first RMT, so the descriptions may be a bit lackluster

when going monotype try to make up for the inherent weaknesses your type has. In this case, how do you deal with a scarf mon with Fire Blast? Sounds like it can sweep your team. On the same train, once Froslass is gone (and from the set it seems she dies early) what's stopping, say scarf Terrakion or Infernape from sweeping your team? Work on stuff like this otherwise you will auto lose at team preview

What do you do against Fighting Monotypes?

I happen to use Fighting in my Monotype team and looking at yours, my Terrakion can sweep your entire team:

252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Abomasnow: 374-444 (116.5 - 138.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Walrein: 422-500 (99.5 - 117.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Terrakion Rock Slide vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Froslass: 326-386 (115.6 - 136.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mamoswine: 470-554 (130.1 - 153.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Glaceon: 360-426 (132.8 - 157.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 234-276 (96.6 - 114%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

The only two threats really are Walrein, and Cloyster. Most likely, Terrakion will take out Walrein in one hit. Cloyster will probably set up a Shell Smash, but then even if Terrakion goes down, I have other Pokemon with priority moves to take out Cloyster.

I just want to know how you handle Fighting types since they seem to be your biggest weakness?

Hey, first of all, ice is a p bad type.

Anyways, I'd probably run Rapid Spin on Cloyster because SR weakness is pretty crippling.
