Tournament rules
  • This is a standard XY Doubles OU tournament.
  • This tournament will be double elimination.
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown, on either the main server or the Smogtours server.
  • To encourage metagame development, prevent disputed results, and ensure an even playing field, replays are required for all matches.
  • Activity calls will be made by the tournament host, potentially with neutral assistance from a Doubles OU Forum Moderator. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS.
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the XY DOU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what team to bring or what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.

Calling act due to opponent not making reasonable or timely efforts to schedule with me (see wall) and I'm busy this weekend as it's Easter weekend;
  • When I initially asked them when they were available they only gave me one two-hour window for Saturday or Sunday (with unclear or erroneous time zone conversions)
  • Despite that, I told them I could make it on Saturday in the time zone range they said was in my time zone range
  • They responded two days later wanting to play at a different time altogether (with no mention of intended time zone)
  • I told them I could make it at their stated time (if in my time zone)
  • They messaged me this morning saying they couldn't make that time, with no offer of an alternate time
