XY Inverse Team

This team intends to counter the prevalent Psychic type, wall physical and special sweepers, and spread Toxic, while being able to countersweep. (In theory)

Nala (Mienshao) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 56 HP / 200 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off

This set is good for countering Psychic types by taking their attacks, then countering with High Jump Kick. It also serves as an offensive pivot. It's based on this post:
Here's an extremely successful set i've been using in the ladder:

Mienshao @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 200 Atk / 252 SDef / 56 HP
Careful Nature
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Knock Off

At first glance, this set looks extremely odd, but it's actually very effective in this meta! Speed is not needed for this set to work, instead, it functions as an offensive pivot capable of supporting the team and tanking special attacks such as Mega Gengar's Shadow Ball. Here are some calculations to showcase its utility:

Attacks against Mienshao:
252 SpA Mega Gengar Sludge Bomb vs. 56 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Mienshao: 118-141 (41.4 - 49.4%)
252 SpA Life Orb Alakazam Psyshock vs. 56 HP / 0 Def Mienshao: 133-156 (46.6 - 54.7%)
252 SpA Life Orb Alakazam Shadow Ball vs. 56 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Mienshao: 77-91 (27 - 31.9%)
252 SpA Life Orb Alakazam Focus Blast vs. 56 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Mienshao: 116-136 (40.7 - 47.7%)
Attacks by Mienshao:
200 Atk Mienshao Fake Out vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Alakazam: 77-91 (30.6 - 36.2%)
200 Atk Mienshao Fake Out vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Gengar: 100-118 (38.3 - 45.2%)
200 Atk Mienshao U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Gengar: 344-408 (131.8 - 156.3%)
200 Atk Mienshao High Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Venusaur: 248-294 (68.1 - 80.7%)

Based on these calculations, you can see that Mienshao can constantly switch in and use its decent spdef to act as a great offensive pivot that can quickly annoy its opponents by scouting, knocking off, hitting hard with HJK, or constantly abusing Fake Out to slowly damage the opponent. Go give this set a try before any of you raise judgment, it works surprisingly well if you know how to use it, I often find my self depending on him.

Panini (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SDef / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Recover
- Protect
- Energy Ball/Leaf Storm

This is the Toxic user of the team. It's typing, while having weaknesses, has solid resistances as well. It walls special attackers fairly well, and carries Energy Ball or Leaf Storm so it doesn't become Taunt bait. If Mew can pull off the same set, I may replace this with an equivalent Mew set. Not set on either attack move yet.

Bee (Medicham) (F) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Zen Headbutt
- Bulk Up

Meant to be a Psychic-neutral Bulk Up set. Return for Normal power, Zen Headbutt and High Jump Kick for STAB. It can handle attacks and strike back with it's high attack.

Bananaman (Gallade) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Steadfast
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Drain Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Shadow Sneak

Carries the powerful offensive type Grass in the form of Leaf Blade, Drain Punch and Zen Headbutt for STAB, with Drain Punch providing some healing, and priority in Shadow Sneak, which hits Normal types for Super Effective damage. Mainly built to counter special attackers like Meloetta or Alakazam.

NONE SHALL PASS (Avalugg) (M) @ Icy Rock
Ability: Ice Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Avalanche
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Hail

The incredible physical wall of the inverse metagame. The only physical damage that concerns it is Ice type, which is still hardly of concern. It can strike back hard with Avalanche, spin unresisted, heal off damage, and set up Hail for extra healing and residual damage.

PoopLoser69 (Regice) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 72 SAtk / 184 SDef
Calm Nature
- Blizzard
- Focus Blast
- Frost Breath
- Signal Beam

Another, stronger special blocker that can counter special attackers with Blizzard during Hail, Focus Blast, Frost Breath, and Signal Beam. Signal Beam provides extra offense thanks to the many weaknesses to it. Blizzard and Frost Breath are it's main STABs, and Focus Blast checks Psychics specifically.
