XY Normal Monotype Team

Hello, since I discovered Pokemon Showdown last year I have loved competitive battling. I love normal types and they are my favorite to form a monotype team with. I am still trying to cope with the loss of Clefable and Togekiss so here is my attempt at a 6th gen normal team.

Bubbles (Wigglytuff) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 HP / 120 SAtk / 136 SDef
Modest Nature
- Wish
- Dazzling Gleam
- Protect
- Fake Tears

I use her as a great wish passer. Dazzling Gleam help take care of powerful dragon types and pesky fighting types. Fake tears is there to help her against pokemon she is not super effective against, or who resist Exploud's attacks.

Kana & Rue (Kangaskhan) (F) @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Power-Up Punch
- Dizzy Punch
- Earthquake

Rather standard MegaKanga set, I think. I will likely switch dizzy punch out for a more powerful attack, probably return. A fairly good sweeper, MegaKanga hits hard after even one power up punch set up, and has great coverage.

Boomy (Exploud) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Boomburst
- Focus Blast

My great special sweeper. An old favorite from third gen that has now been greatly buffed. STAB Boomburst does amazing damage to most pokemon and hits behind subs. The other moves provide great coverage. Assault Vest help Exploud stay alive against glass cannons like Mega Alakazam and Mega Gengar and hit back strong. Scrappy means that even ghost types cant avoid boomburst (or focus blast for aegislash).

Minnie (Cinccino) (F) @ King's Rock
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Tail Slap
- Rock Blast
- U-turn

Cute, strong and fast, Mincinno is one of my favorite pokemon from fifth gen. She outspeeds most pokemon and her skill link attacks have great coverage. Kings Rock allows for a 40% chance to flinch if she hasn't already KOed the opponent. U-Turn help her flee from ghosts or steel types who resist her attacks.

Bugsy (Diggersby) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Quick Attack
- Earthquake
- Power-Up Punch
- Stone Edge

My usual lead, Diggersby is often understestimated but Huge Power gives him a massive boost. Power punch allows him to hit even harder and still keep the assault vest, which allows hit to survive aura spheres and surfs. Quick attack is there to quickly finish off weakened pokemon of to provide a last ditch stab attack if he is about to faint. STAB EQ and Stone edge provide great coverage.

Harpy (Swellow) (F) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- Brave Bird
- Facade
- Quick Attack

Incredibly fast and really strong, swellow can sweep a team that doesn't have an appropriate counter.
Protect is there to help her get the flame orb boost uninterrupted. Facade and Brave Bird are her main methods of attack and they both hit hard. Quick attack is there to finish off a weakened foe.

Comments and criticism are appreciated! :)
