XY OU Momentum - Scizor Team! HELP NEEDED!

Hi there,

I decided to build a team based on Volt-Turn strategy and contained my favorite Pokémon - Scizor.
It's been long process since I started with this team and I couldn't feel good about it with any change I did.

I started with my favorite Pokémon, as was mentioned, Scizor. I tried to base this team on him. I added Tyranitar, because they are very good together, since Tyranitar can tank Fire type moves and set up Stealth Rock, where Scizor is good Defogger.

My Volt Switcher became scarfed Rotom, I wasn't sure about which one should I play but I stopped by Rotom-W, because Rotom-H is weak to SR so he might not be such a good Volt Switcher.

Well I added Trevenant as a Defender. This was very hard decision, but in the end I added him over Mandibuzz and my other preferable defenders because he resists EQ, he is Spin Blocker and the most important thing that made me chose him - he is Status Absorber. I usually use someone (Sylveon) that packs Aromatherapy or Heal Bell to cure my team, but since I wasn't able to have something like that (I already got T-tar as a Sp.Defender) I chose Trevenant. I don't mind him getting burned, asleep, frozen, toxiced, paralyzed, confused or whatever. Resto/Lum with Harvest works.

Eventually I added Garchomp and Talonflame. Garchomp is pretty good attacker and I decided to run him with Life Orb to appretiate his power. Talonflame was SD version, because noone else packed any set up move in my team. I must admit, Talonflame didn't work very well...

Well, the last was huge. I dropped my Scizorite (I really loved Mega Scizor, I dont like regular Scizor so much) so I could use Mega Manectric. Here are some reasons: First of all, I didn't have any fast Pokémon other than scarfed Rotom and Garchomp which base speed is just 102... that made me think about it so I changed it a little bit. My Scizor was no longer such a good defender and defoger, not even poweful U-turner, but my team was slightly better. Talonflame was replaced by Azumarill, because I love this guy and only one reason I didn't use him before was that I had already run a Water type Pokémon.

Maybe I should have stayed at Scizor-M, T-tar, Rotom-W, Trevenant, Garchomp and just search for another fast Pokémon, or I should have given Garchomp Scarf, I don't know, honestly I hope you will help me in this way. In previous team, Talonflame was my weakest spot in team and I don't know who should I change him for. In the Manectric-M team I don't have anyone that is immune to EQ (no Flying Pokémon nor Levitate one).

TEAM

Scizor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost
Bullet Punch is his main STAB, priority attack and very powerful move (well actually not so powerful, but after it gets STAB boost and Technician boost it gets usable). U-turn is there as a Volt Turn strategy.
Roost is for healing if I get time for that. Defog is to get rid of anoying entry hazards of opponent. I actually get rid of mine as well, but I might U-turn to T-tar and get Stealth Rocks back to the field.
He is not as powerful as he used to be while holding Scizorite, but Manectric-M is very good Volt-Switcher, so I dealed with that. Since being choice locked while having Defog and Roost is dumb I choosed Lefties over LO, because as a Defoger I wanted him to not lose his HP.

Manectric (M) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Rawr... Powerful Volt-Switcher. It can switch in, Intimidate my opponent and Volt Switch back. His Volt Switch hurt so much and gives momentum to my team. Thunderbolt is there as his main STAB, when I don't really want to switch (usually against Mandibuzz and Skarmory). Flamethrower is against those anoying Pokémon like Ferrothorn and Forretress (I am aware of Overheat, but Overheat can be predicted and at -2 Manectric isn't so useful and not even Volt Switch pay it back, if it was guaranteed that Ferrothorn won't switch out on Overheat, I would gladly use it, but it is not... well and there is even chance to miss - I keep missing all the time). HP Ice is last move and it's here mainly against Gliscor and Garchomp.

250px-248Tyranitar.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Earthquake
Tyranitar is there as a Special Defender. I made myself sure he has max Sp.Def so he could take powerful Special Attacks even those he is weak to. He can set up Stealth Rock and help my team very well in cleaning process. Crunch is his main STAB. EQ is mainly against Aegislash and Heatran that can mess with my team. Superpower is against mirror, Blissey etc. I considered playing Pursuit over Superpower but coverage won. I run Leftovers over Assault Vest because of Stealth Rocks and I wouldn't want to change Stealth Rocks to any other my team member since this T-tar really works.

250px-445Garchomp.png

Garchomp (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Rock Slide
Ay, kinda though spot. I wasn't sure about this Garchomp very much. Since my Manectric is basically very fast and Garchomp can be easily walled, when he's scarfed I decided to not give him scarf. I gave him Life Orb so he is more powerful now and can deal even with some Defensive Pokémon. Dragon Claw is his main STAB and since there are lots of Fairy types I don't like Outrage, because I would get locked into it and then I might give for example Azumarill free turns for Belly Drum. Earthquake is his strongest STAB that helps with dealing with a lot of Pokémon. Flamethrower is here against Skarmory and Ferrothorn. I must admit I was not sure whether I should play Flamethrower or Fire Fang. I don't like Fire Blast's missing chance so I didn't think about that, but if I used Fire Fang I could be Jolly and it would be easier to deal with Charizard Y. But I still feel like Mixed Chomp is better. Rock Slide is there for hurting Flying types like Togekiss and Mandibuzz.

250px-709Trevenant.png

Trevenant @ Lum Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Leech Seed
- Horn Leech
- Rest
This malevolent tree can burn my foe, so he hurts him for less damage and he keeps dying while I can easily heal myself. Will-O-Wisp is mentioned burning attack, Leech Seed is another residual damage attack that heals me and Horn Leech is his STAB move (I decided to use it over Ghost STAB because of it's healing opportunity and because Grass type attack helps much more in my team). Rest + Lum is in my opinion better than Resto Chesto on this tree, because I don't need to use Rest to get rid of all statuses.
Since I don't have Cleric, I use him as a Status Absorber, because with Lum + Harvest he doesn't really fear any Status.
Problem was Knock Off. I must always pay attention to not lose my berry in such stupid way. Best Knock Off switch in is Azumarill, since I don't really need the Choice Band so much and his Fairy type makes him resistant to it...

azumarill.jpg

Azumarill (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower
Hooray, there is my Azumarill. It's Choice Bander and possible Revenge Killer. He doesn't really outspeeds anything but his powerful priority combined with Huge Power makes him good cleaner. His awesome bulk allows him to survive many hits and then he can pay it back with his other powerful moves.
Aqua Jet is there for obviously revenge killing and cleaning as it is his main priority. Waterfall is his second Water type STAB move that I use when I scare out my opponent so I can hurt very much even Pokémon that resist it. Play Rough is his third STAB and the most powerful. However, it might be resisted by Steel, Fire and Poison types so it's not always the best choice. Superpower is here only to deal with Ferrothorn.
I don't run Ice Punch because I don't think I would kill Amoonguss or Mega Venusaur either way and since I am banded I am used to switching him so it doesn't really matter so much.

Problems I am thinking about:
  • I don't have scarfer in team, I don't know whether it is must-have or not, but I didn't find myself needing it. Maybe that's because of my priority attackers.
  • No Aromatherapy user or Wish passer... Well I don't think I really need that but I must be really careful while playing, so I won't get statused.
  • Not Scizorite - I really liked Rotom + M-Scizor but this works better, however, I still miss Scizorite

Thank you guys for reading my team... tell me what you think about it...
Suggest your ideas. I will try EVERYTHING you suggest.

Feel free to comment.

Trevenant is pretty meh in general, useless in this team.

If u want so much a cleric, go with sylveon:

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 Def / 248 HP / 8 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

With tyranitar is decent defensive core. With is fight resistance cover ttar well, for cover the sylveon weakness to steel and poison u have scizor.

Scizor, azu, cannot deal so much with defensive venusar.

But even garchomp is meh:

252 Atk Life Orb Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 177-211 (48.6 - 57.9%) -- 95.7% chance to 2HKO

Also garchomp run similar attack to ttar.

Latios @ Life Orb
Abiity: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power Fight / Thunderbolt
- Defog

Faster than garchomp and can deal with megasaur. HP fight is for not be trapped by ttar/ sharp, tbolt for azumarill and general flying mons. Also can defog, so u can use knock off on scizor.

For scizor u can even use the iron plate for bluffing a choice band.

Last: use overheat on megatric. 2 overheat in a row deals more than 2 flamethrower even with the satk drop.

I chamnge Trevenant, but not for Sylveon (otr the team don't have a way to tank Ground Attacks). personally, I will change it for a bulky Flying Pokemon to tank Ground attacks.

Well I kinda dont feel I should use Sylveon as Physical Defender, it might cause more problems... like Excadrill...
Personally I dont even like Lati@s since they're easilly trapped and killed by Pursuit (Pursuit Tar and Aegislash).

As for bulky flying
Skarmory would be another Electric weakness...

Gliscor
would be statuss absorber, but another x4 Ice weakness... but I am considering changing Garchomp for something else (scarfed Staraptor maybe?)
Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Return
- Close Combat
- U-turn

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Protect

What do you think?
