XY OU Threat Checking Team

I recently got into competitive battling a while back and have used the PS! simulator to try out a few teams. I've tested and changed a lot, but I finally found a team that seems to work for me and what I want to do.

So the majority of these Pokemon have set ups I got from Smogon. I found out I absolutely suck at EV distributions and what not, so until I get better I decided that it's a safe bet to trust the website for now :toast:
Any way, let me launch into the description of my Pokemon team.

Mamoswine: I went with Mamoswine in order to check the majority of Dragons that are running around OU. However I really enjoy this Mamoswine because it completely checks Garchomp (even if they are running a Choice Scarf set.) The STAB Priority Ice Shard can almost OHKO just about any Garchomp, and if not, it can usually scare it out. Stealth Rocks for obvious hazards, and Earthquake STAB does amazing damage on a lot of other pokemon (especially fire types). Stone Edge included to surprise flying types.

Venusaur: I find that Mega-Venusaur isn't used a lot or countered well amongst OU players (I could be wrong because I am new), I use him to counter all the f-ing Rotom-W running rampant everywhere. Granted I do have one myself (sorry lol), Mega-Saur STAB Giga Drain makes short work of Rotom-W, and STAB Sludge Bomb for Fairy-types as well as being just a good all around move. Synthesis and Sleep Powder combo to put a pokemon to sleep, and then recovering health on a switch or if they stay in, either way it seems to work.

Rotom-W: I hope someone gets the Kenmore reference, I felt it was a pretty common appliance. TalonFlame. Now that is why I have Rotom-W on my team. That thing would tear major holes in my team before without me being able to do anything. Kenmore does an amazing job of jecking TalonFlame because its dual-typing is the perfect counter to T-Flames. I have Will-o-Wisp as a common sighting on Rotom and it works, even if T-Flame switches into a Will-o-Wisp, the chances of them staying in are small since Volt-Switch not only keeps up pressure but does good damage, Hydro-Pump also STAB kills T-FLame.

Mandibuzz: I hate Aegislash so much, not just because it's a good pokemon, but I still haven't figured out how to use it/fit it into a team. Anyway, Mandibuzz is here to keep it in down, not only can it survive just about any if not any of Aegislah's moves it can KO it with Foul Play. However I learned that it is also weak to rocks making switch ins kind of tough.

Azumarill: I decided on Azumarill because I've heard some good things about it, and wanted to try it out. This thing has been a life saver, because of its Fairy-Water typing. Aqua Jet priority STAB can kill most fire types (including Mega Charzards), Play Rough also keeps Dragons and fighting types on edge. Ice Punch also watches out for Dragons and Return.. well I got it from Smogon, sorry guys.

Goodra: This thing is so Specially bulky, I had to go with it. I mean not really, but I it does a good job of taking special hits, and its moveset is decent. Dragon Pulse because I need a STAB, but not Outrage because, well it's Outrage and that's not what Goodra is for. Thunderbolt can come in handy with flying types while Flamethrower surprises Steel and Grass types. Toxic to keep up the pressure on Pokemon health.

Anyway, that's it. Since this is the first time I feel I've been able to make a decent OU team, I decided to share with you all. Please let me know what you think/what needs to change in order to be more competitive or counter threats I haven't looked for. Thanks!

I see you joined quite recently, so let me be the first to welcome you to Smogon, Django_Fett! I really like your team, but I do have a few words of advice on how it can be better. First off, you can give Mamoswine a Focus Sash, meaning he's able to live any hit, so that combined with Oblivious make him an excellent lead, guaranteed to set up Stealth Rocks. Also, if you're running Adamant nature, it's usually advised to run max HP instead of speed, but if you value his speed, then a Jolly nature will do. It's your call, though. If you have Focus Sash, then you can replace Stone Edge with Endeavor, which combined with Focus Sash, leaves the target with 1 HP; a perfect scenario for Ice Shard to finish a foe off.

You might have made a mistake with the nature, but your Mega Venusaur shouldn't have a Serious nature there. Given your EVs, a Modest nature would be much better, as it provides a much appreciated buff to special attack. Also, replacing either Sleep Powder or Synthesis with Hidden Power Fire would help, since without it, Steel-types will wall you.

I don't have much to say about Mandibuzz, but I would strongly suggest replacing Big Pecks with Overcoat, since defense drops are a rarity, and having immunities to not only sandstorm damage but also to powder moves such as Spore or Stun Spore is quite convenient for stalling purposes.

As for Azumarill, I suggest getting rid of Return and replacing it with either Superpower or Waterfall. With Superpower, you can get past Ferrothorn, who would resist your STABs and wouldn't take much damage from Ice Punch, while with Waterfall, you can throw around a secondary STAB that has no drawback and can take out Heatran before it burns you with Will-O-Wisp. Either way, both options are much better than Return.

Finally, we have Goodra, whose place on the team is a bit questionable to me. You seen to want it to be a bulky special attacker, so I think Latias would be the best replacement here. Latias has very similar stats compared to Goodra, can use Dragon Pulse and Thunderbolt like Goodra, but instead of Flamethrower, she gets Recover, greatly improving longevity compared to Goodra, and has a great speed stat to do her job well. You could also give Latias Toxic, but Defog is also a worthy option, since it clears Stealth Rock and any other hazards. So the end result would be something like this:

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd OR 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
