[SET COMMENTS]
Sylveon's strength in the metagame stems from its Fairy typing coupled with its access to many utility moves like Fake Tears and Yawn. This set lets Sylveon function as a bulky Fairy-type that can handle many offensive threats, including Dragapult, Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and Choice Scarf Dracovish. Additionally, thanks to the HP and Defense investment, Sylveon can easily take most neutral and resisted attacks and counteract with Yawn to put its foes to sleep and either have the option to use its STAB attacks to 2HKO the foe or lower the opposing Pokemon's Special Defense with Fake Tears. Hyper Voice is very useful when handling Pokemon that utilize Substitute such as Whimsicott and Curse Mimikyu. Hyper Beam is a devastating move when paired with Pixilate, as it enables Sylveon to easily take out Pokemon that are frail or weak to it such as Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, Choice Scarf Haxorus, and Choice Scarf Dracozolt. Fake Tears allows Sylveon to break stall Pokemon such as Galarian Corsola, stall Rotom-W, and Dubwool. Pixie Plate gives Sylveon's STAB moves more power, allowing it to safely OHKO Galarian Darmanitan with Hyper Beam. The given HP and Defense investment allows Sylveon to avoid getting KOed by Choice Scarf Dracovish, as well as living Icicle Crash from Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan.
Sylveon struggles to handle Fire- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Arcanine, Cinderace, and Galarian Weezing. Due to this, having Water- and Ground-type Pokemon that can handle them is very beneficial for Sylveon. This includes Pokemon like Rotom-W, Excadrill, and Inteleon. They, on the other hand, appreciate Sylveon's ability to handle Water-, Fighting-, and Ice-type Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Dracovish, Golisopod, Sawk, and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan. Additionally, Arcanine and Cinderace benefit from Sylveon handling bulky Water-types like Vaporeon as well. In return, they can handle Steel-type Pokemon like Steelix and Aegislash, which Sylveon cannot handle alone.
