ORAS OU Yin and Yang

Hello forum, this is my actual team i've been testing it so far but before talking about its flaws let's see it

absol-mega.gif

Absol (M) @ Absolite
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast

I decided to start building my team from Absol because i really love its skin and its mega evolution made it really valuable. I use it like revenge killer and abuse of its magic bounce trait even if i have to be really careful because it's really fragile. Sucker punch is mandatory to try to have a free turn on which mega evolve and bypass absol sub par speed while ice beam and fire blast are used against things like landorus, gliscor, scizor, skarmory, ferrothorn and so on, generally they don't expect it cause absol huge attack stat.
amoonguss-2.gif

Amoonguss (M) @ Black Sludge
Shiny: Yes
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SDef
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Starting building with Absol i had to cover its weaknesses so i decided to have an amoongus. It sponges mainly fighting and fairy moves directed to absol, deals with water monsters threatening heatran. It gives sleep on enemies that's always good. I'm debating with myself about what's better between sludge bomb and clear smog, i find useful both the extra dmg and the hazing effect...
Hidden power is to deal with steel tipes bar heatran that would otherwise wall it entirely.

heatran.gif

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SDef / 68 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Roar
- Stealth Rock

At third came heatran even if i don't really like it much. It is useful to sponge special attacks coming from elsewhere. It is my only hope to deal with mega charizard y if it doesn't have focus blast or specific hidden power. It is my entry hazard setter and spreads toxic and passive damage with roar. I'm not pretty sure of the choice of toxic over earth power, maybe you could help me.

zapdos.gif

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Shiny: Yes
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 68 SAtk / 16 Spd
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Heat Wave

Zapdos came in as physically defensive momentum gainer. I preferred it over rotom-w because of mold breaker excadrills. Roost is its only form of recovering and sometimes it wishes we had a cleric. Barring rock moves it does its work pretty well gaining momentum over bad switch-ins. Moreover it deals with flying moves that would set 2 mates directly KO.
blastoise-3.gif

Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 188 Def / 68 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Rest
- Scald
- Ice Beam

Because of widely used entry hazards i decided to have a rapid spinner (preferred over a defogger). Before blastoise i used starmie but i wanted a bulkier 'mon doing the job so the only water choice was blastoise. I wanted a water type to cover heatran weakness and because it's a good type against entry hazard setters like landorus, hippowdon, skarmory... moreover its bulk make it possible to deal (even if not easily) with ddancing 'mons.

breloom.gif

Breloom (M) Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 12 HP / 244 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Seed Bomb
- Mach Punch

After all the bulky things i decided to have another sweeper to end my team and decided for breloom. With the toxic orb it functions as a status absorber and it's nice to have one due to the lack of cleric in the team. I preferred this set over the sub-punch because in this way it can hit and run. (Moreover it has a beautiful skin too!)

I've presented the team so far. Our main threats are focus blast mega charizard y that can wreack havoc in this team and mega heracross majorly.
Hope you all can help me cover the weaknesses and make us grow!
Thank you!

Hey nice team! I noticed you have some trouble defeating Mega Venusaur, checking Weavile, and defeating Unaware Calm Mind Clefable.

Blastoise is bulky, but having to run Rest on your spinner is risky. The solution I have to that is running Defog > HP Ice on Zapdos. Zapdos has better recovery to use Defog, and it's still able to check and defeat Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. Now, this opens up a slot as you won't need Blastoise. You still have Ice Beam on Mega Absol, so you're not losing much.

Talonflame is able to check/defeat every single threat I mentioned above, as well as Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Heracross without Rock Blast. The special defensive set with Taunt, allows you to check Zard Y, and prevent Clefable, and Mega Venusaur from healing up or using Thunder Wave (for Clefable). However, the only mon that's still a threat is Weavile. Having priority in the form of Acrobatics also makes it easier to take out fast threats like Mega Lopunny and Mega Alakazam.

This change still gives you a setup sweeper (you'll be running the Sub Calm Mind variant), and Keldeo gives you back a good water type, and more importantly, a great answer to Weavile.

talonflame-3.gif

Talonflame
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Acrobatics (Running Acrobatics with no item means you'll be taking less damage from Knock Off)
- Roost
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
keldeo.gif

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Secret Sword
That's it for now, let me know if my changes helped or not, and in the form of the latter, I'll try to come up with something else. Hope I helped ^_^

Kind of a neat team, mega absol is certainly an interesting pick for a mega and glad to see people exploring lets common options :)

I will start my rate from the changes Team Pokepals suggested, which I certainly agree with, to avoid the confusion.

Given that you have zapdos, keldeo, talonflame and heatran to pressure the likes of skarmory and steel types in general; I would recommend pursuit over fire blast on mega absol. Keldeo in general appreciates pursuit support and with zapdos providing a safe switch-in against the latis you can easily get rid of them if mega evolved and at worst make the situation a 50/50 if not mega evolved.

Taunt over toxic on heatran: To be honest, roar do help with the likes of clefable but in a last mon scenario you just lose from there so taunt actually stop clefable and you can proceed to wear it down or force it out. Taunt + toxic is an excellent combo against more passive builds as well.

Last, with taunt on heatran, swords dance over taunt on the talonflame would make a neat addition providing a secondary win condition and profficient cleaning against the threats aformentioned.

Looks neat and functional overall, hope this helps you. Best of lucks.

Thank you m8s! I followed your directions and the team seems to work really better than before!
I only changed calm mind for icy wind in keldeo's moves and put clear smog over sludge bomb for amoongus.
I don't like the idea of changing fire blast on mega absol, i use it often, even on unawaring scizor, skarmory, ferrothorn, and so on x)
