Introduction

Hello Again. I am back with my second RMT but this one really fill the holes, which the previous one could not. Its completely diff. from the last one I had, and has surprisingly helped me get too many wins and rank ups.
The name of my team "You Better Spin, Or Watch Our Grin" is basically due to the fact that my team takes a lot of advantage from entry hazard and in case the opponent lacks a spinner, it mess up pretty much badly. And even if they have a spinner, it wont last long enough to keep my infinite hazards at bay, even though my team lacks a spin blocker.

My team uses the famous Volt-Turn core along with SkarmChans (Eviolite Version of SkarmBliss). These two cores have helped me confuse my opponents a number of times and letting my Fav. late game sweeper blast through them.
I would like to get a complete in depth RMT of my team, if you can.
Here Rotom-W and Scizor completes my volt turning while skarmory and chansey handle and lay some necessary things required for the same.

In Depth

Rotom-W
featuredmon_rotomwash.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I dont know as to when I picked up such a wonderful liking for this washing machine, but its the best when making a volt-turn strategy, and provides excellent synergy with Scizor. I have maxed his speed so that its the most comfortable lead I have with the best scouting he can offer. I trick my scarf pretty much early if I have to make some serious business with pokemons like gyarados or salamence, otherwise I use it for keeping my momentum up or for ruining set up pokemons namely Venu, breloom and some stalls like the pink sisters. HP Ice really saves my neck against Haxorus who can otherwise KO me with mold Breaker EQ.It also act as a revenge killer to many +1 speed boosted dragons. Hydro Pump, another stab, which I use to stop darmanitan outside sun or for abusing only after I have tricked myself to a suitable opponent.

Scizor
scizor_by_llamablaster.jpg

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
It completes my volt turn core and is the potential revenge killer of my team. I have maximized its attack so that it hits harder and provide excellent coverage with Rotom.U Turn damages Espeon and Deoxys badly who are a real pain to my team. Bullet Punch and U-Turn are basic, superpower is for ferros and some steel types especially heatran which switches in to faint. Pursuit is inferior to U-Turn, but helps against choice locked Lati@s after a Draco Meteor. 252 In HP gives better durability, especially with a Wish Support teammate.

Chansey
Chansey_by_Xous54.png

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Wish
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
This one is definitely the killer out of all the stallers. It gets a number of switch ins in the present metagame, like with Heatran, Lati@s, Rain Tornadus, Rotom-W and successfully lays one layer of SR. She doesnt fear even if those rocks are spinned as she gets sufficient opportunities to lay them again. SR works wonder for my volt-turn strategy. Wish really provides my entire team a rebirth. Toxic breaks many of the stalls as chansey herself isnt bothered about status. Seismic Toss is just a filler as I rarely use it because chansey doesnt stay more than 2 turns as her teammate are better at denting holes, especially after they get their rebirth. I have invested max in def. as eviolite takes care of Sp. Def. and boosts my def. much much more.

Skarmory
images

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
Skarmory tanks in any physical hits and can phaze pokemon who would otherwise have thought to set up on chansey like conkeldurr. Spikes works a great deal for my volt turn and ruins any team lacking A Spinner. Skarm has great synergy with chansey who abosrbs all fire blasts and thunderbolts aimed at the former, who himself absorbs all the physical hits aimed at her sister chansey. Both works a great deal by managing the entry hazards and a Sturdy Skarm with wish and roost support are really a pain. Whirlwind is for phazing venusaur, set up dragons and gyarados, and bulk ups like conkeldurr. Brave bird is best against virizion and breloom, especially if sleep clause is activated.

Donphan
donphan.png

Donphan (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Shard
Chansey Wish is just awesome with Donphan. Chansey can sponge all sp attks aimed at donphan and and use wish for healing back to donphan who can tackle all the physical attacks aimed at chansey. He is the best spinner that my team required. I have completely made him offensive and given it a LO since chansey wish can heal off the life orb recoil. Even without any def. investment, he can still sponge some physical hits. As a spinner, he is the best because he has access to a priority move Ice shard which damages gengar seriously in case he comes to block my spin and tries to subs or disable it. Head Smash punches holes in pokemon that resist my EQ and acts like a STAB Stone edge with a recoil (power 150, acc 80). This set is a complete offensive one, knocking many dragons of OU metagame thanks to sturdy, immunity to Sandstorm and the side support from Wish paired with a priority Ice shard. It is also the best way for killing terrakion as it can only fire close combat lowering its own def. and letting me OHKO by EQ.

Latios
2383603591_small_1.jpg

Latios (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Draco Meteor
The Hero and the late game sweeper of my team. After the rest five pokemon have done their work of laying spikes, scouting the team, and eliminating some potential threats of my Hero, he can come in, get 2 Calm minds and tear through their team taking at least 3 pokemon down. +2 Calm mind allows Latios to fire 2 Draco Meteor at most before switching out. Infact Even after 1 Draco Meteor, it keeps it momentum due to Calm Mind and KO many pokemons after taking damage from the entry hazards and hassle from my volt turns. EV Investment and attacks are straightforward, outspeed as much as you can, KO as many as you can.

Also a short review against Weather based teams :

Sun : Trick ruins venusaur while chansey absorbs all fire And SR for serious damage. Donphan has both head smash and earthquake against the fire pokemons offered before me. The only problem is Darmanitan because the only way to stop him is by wearing him down by recoil which means sacrificing one of my pokemon completely.

Rain : Volt Turn strategy practically ruins most rain teams. Skarmory abuse ferro by laying spikes (Though if I have taunt, I would be more better). Chansey tackles Tornadus. The only problem is with Vaporeon, and I had to stick to Latios for killing it, which is not that appropriate.

SandStorm : While three pokemon are resistant to sandstorm, it isnt much of a bother except for Chansey who doesnt have leftovers to keep up with the storm and therefore gets poor at stalling. Otherwise all major threat of sand teams are more or less covered by me team. Gliscor and Landorus are easy baits for Rotom-W and donphan.

Hail : Never faced much, but my team still goes well through it. Kyurem is too slow to be considered. Other than Mamoswine, all pokemon are easy to defeat. Mamo's Ice Shard is a bit of problem, and stops my volt switch. Otherwise Rotom-W and Scizor easily counters it.

Issues

Till now I have not found any single potential threat to my team as it depends completely on the entire team of my opponent, but there are still some which I would like to mention.
Sun Team darmanitan is deadly against my steel types and defenseless chansey. Rotom-W and Donphan take serious damage before KOing him.
And I dont like Vaporeon in Rain either. If I trick him successfully, then he is nothing but a laugh, otherwise he can burn down my team with his boosted scald.
Donphan also seriously hates Toxic spikes and he is the only pokemon in my team that is affected by it. Celebi with HP fire is also a menace to me and with an effective team mate, render my chansey useless.
Meinshao and Scrafty are two more names to mention.

These threats are not serious one, because sometime they themselves get too messy without spinner or volt turn halter or ruin themselves by micro miss predictions.

Also There are some issues in my team that I would like to mention.
Should Skarmory run Brave Bird or taunt? The latter is killing for ferro, but the former is for killing unexpected pokemons caught in whirlwind and provide good entry hazards sweeping.
Donphan's combination of Life Orb and Sturdy doesnt go hand in hand. It is effective only against revenge killing dragons with ice shard. At the same time without life orb, I seriously loose some potential KO's like one against Terrakion. Would expert belt help me in this. But then, it does nothing good against Gengar.

Conclusion

Thats all. All in all, this team has been successful for me. I have tested it on smogon server of PO and it worked wonders for me. Ofcourse if the opponent plays clever or has a team with sheer power, then its a hard time for me to retaliate.
I would like to have a complete in depth RMT of my team. All constructive comments are appreciated. I would like to get all possible changes in my moveset and items to make my team much more effective.

Swords Dance Lucario can set up on Chansey or Scizor locked in Bullet Punch, and sweep your team. Skarmory and Donphan are both KOed by a +2 Close Combat unless Sturdy is intact, which is hard to do. Rotom-W and Latios outspeed but fall to ExtremeSpeed, and Chansey and Scizor fall to Close Combat as well.
Sub Gengar can set up on Chansey, Latios (due to 30 Speed IV from Hidden Power Fire) and cause trouble. Scizor can take a hit, but due to being choiced, Gengar will just Disable you (or Hidden Power Fire if it has it), and force you to switch. Nothing else on your team can take Shadow Ball / Focus Blast. Trying to Volt Switch its Sub and go to Scizor on the Shadow Ball is rather predictable and a Focus Blast / Substitute will ruin it for you.
Calm Mind / Swords Dance Virizion can set up on Rotom-W, Donphan and Chansey and cause a little trouble. Scizor is KOed by +1 Focus Blast or +2 Close Combat after entry hazards, and Bullet Punch will never KO Virizion (does about 55-60% damage). Chansey can take on CM Virizion, but SD will go right through it, and Skarmory can take on SD but will fall to CM (meaning you will have to sac something if you guess wrong).

First off, simply using a different moveset on Latios is something I definitely recommend. Using Calm Mind / Dragon Pulse / Psyshock / Surf lets you do several things. First of all, Psyshock is the most important change. It lets Latios revenge kill Virizion, as otherwise Virizion will just take a Draco Meteor with its boosted Special Defense, which is already high even without a boost. It also lets you beat a Blissey that would otherwise stop your sweep. Next, using Dragon Pulse > Draco Meteor is in my opinion superior, as +1 Dragon Pulse still does a ton of damage, KOing almost everything, and also lets you sweep the entire opponent's team instead of just taking down one Pokemon. Finally, Surf still provides you with all the coverage you need (+1 Surf KOes Scizor after SR + 1 layer of Spikes), but also lets you try and win the speed tie against Gengar and Latias. That way, Gengar and Lati@s can be "checked" by Latios when you need to, and they won't be able to stop your sweep either. Finally, I recommend that you use Life Orb, for more important power (Dragon Pulse hits almost nothing super effectively) while Wish from Chansey still provides it with some survivability.

Next, try a Life Orb on Scizor with Roost > Superpower and a more specially defensive spread. That way, you can checkmate Gengar with Pursuit and Bullet Punch, as Gengar is unable to Disable both. Superpower is rarely used anyway, as U-turning is usually better even when predicting a Heatran or Magnezone switchin. Roost also lets you recover health once low. With an EV spread of 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpD, you have all the bulk and power you need. Pursuit KOes Gengar, and Focus Blast doesn't 2HKO Scizor, so you're pretty safe.

Finally, you should consider replacing Donphan with a Hitmontop. Hitmontop is great at countering Lucario, as it has STAB Mach Punch, combined with Technician to take out Lucario, doing 107% minimum. Hitmontop also has Fake Out as another priority move to abuse Technician, and he can usually take out several dangerous Pokemon before they can even move. The exact set is:

Hitmontop @ Life Orb | Technician
Adamant | 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Fake Out / Mach Punch / Close Combat / Rapid Spin

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions.
I tried these (Latios, Scizor And Donphan), and I found that with these changes I have lost my counter against steel types.
Jirachi, Broznong, Metagross, all being immune to Toxic Stall (all are physical anyway, chansey already has no chance) and defensive enough to break through my volt turns are a big problem to me now. With no STAB EQ from donphan (who earlier had enough bulk to shrug off their attacks and immune to thunder wave paralysis) and HP Fire, I have little to no chance against these. Wish and paraflinch of Jirachi adds more to these.
And once I loose Hitmontop, Scizor and Latios fails before ferrothorn.
Also with Donphan gone, I cant revenge kill +1 DD Dragons (Rotom-W rarely succeeds) since I have lost Head Smash + Ice Shard in Sturdy Combo.

1. Life Orb suggestion with dragon pulse was very good, it helped my take more pokemons before it eventually dies through Life Orb Recoil (Its hard to switch in after getting +3 Calm Minds for wish and anyway, Latios is my late game sweeper, who comes up and blasts through opponent as much as he can after the hassle of my volt turns and entry hazards).
2. Scizor though has lost some potenital KO's like the one against Reuniclus, Latios, and prior damaged Terrakion, The potentiality to continue volt turn even after using pursuit and bullet punch is what it makes much much better than the previous one. Though I dont think Roost is needed, since Chansey Wish blends perfectly well with scizor in the switch ins, but I will test it more, because with the new sp. bulk, he can roost off better against some non set up neutral Sp. Attackers. (But I badly lament my otherwise KO on Reuniclus who gets a free switch in against Hitmontop and Chansey and Calm Mind My loose)
3. Hitmontop saved my Non White Herb Cloyester problem. But I have nothing for absorbing electric attacks aimed at Rotom-W (Chansey cant stop Thunder Punch And Wild Charge). His Fake out + Mach Punch with Tech is too good, and he has the necessary bulk too, but I cant stop +1 DD salamence, dragontie, Haxorus at all.
EDIT : Cloyester needs SR + Fake Out + Mach Punch To Defeat, and if equipped with leftovers/White Herb, it requires an additional Bullet punch (which means that I have to sacrifice my spinner). But the problem is for SR, I need chansey and chansey is the safest switch in for cloyester which means SR doesnt work.
And the suggested moveset is completely walled by Ghost, Psychic, Flying, Poison and Bug pokemons.

And some earlier problems still remain with me. +1 DD Gyarados with dragon tail is also a killer for my team(He phaze my Rotom-W away). Meinshao with regenrator annoys me a lot.
And Virizion never posed me much problem, because seeing her poor def. Donphan and Scizor used to take her quite efficiently. (Ofc Hitmontop is more better now with Stab Tech Boosted priority)
Anyway, I liked your suggestions and are effective for me (except for Donphan one, it has too many side effects). Thanks for the help.. :D

Hi, nice team. Draco + CM isn't the best idea on Latios. I suggest changing it to a choice specs set, giving you the ability to start each turn with a bang, effectively abusing the momentum Volt-turning nets you. Though you have spin support, I suggest you change Scizor's HP EV's to 248 so you can take Rocks damage a bit more kindly.

Latios
Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power Fire / Psyshock
- Trick

Good luck!

Interesting team dude, Chansey is a cool pokemon, as always.

First suggestion I have right off the bat is to give Chansey wish again over stealth rock. This team desperately needs it's support, with everything on this team unable to recover and this being a bulky offensive team. If using wish, you might as well use protect over softboiled to aid in toxic stalling (unless you like double healing).

Of course, this leaves your team without stealth rock, a simple change would be to give stealth rock over ice shard or head smash on Donphan, since it is a bit redundant to have both for dragons. Speaking of Donphan, it is a bit too suicidal with life orb, I would suggest you use simply leftovers over it to heal a bit, or choice band to do more damage while not getting life orb recoil.

Although I love Chansey, I feel Blissey might be a better option, on this team, simply because of it’s ability to use flamethrower on steels and Gengar. This will also help you a bit against fellow-volt turn teams. Volt turn seems to be an annoyance, so if you choose to try out Blissey, you might want to test a version which specifically beats it. Giving Blissey a spread of 164 HP / 252 Def / 92 Spd outspeeds pretty much all u-turn Scizors, so that you can easily 1HKO them with flamethrower. That is just an off the wall idea, you can probably use a standard Blissey spread with little issue.

Although, if you do keep Chansey, I suggest you run a spread of Calm - 116 HP / 252 Def / 140 SDef, which is literally all the defense Chansey ever needs, which allows you never to be 2HKOed by psycho shock on specs-Latios.

If your attempting a calm mind sweep, you might as well use calm mind Latias, which is more defensive, and the power difference is negligible after a boost. Using Latias as a defensive pivot will making dealing with several pokemon easier, such as Gyrarados, Infernape, Darmanitan, and Terrakion, it will also allow you to phaze calm mind Jirachi.

Finally you probably want to use a slightly faster spread on Skarmory of 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe. While timid-Wob isn’t a huge threat for any team, every Skarmory user and their mother runs atleast 24 speed, so if you don’t use it you will lose out on the speed tie of whirlwinds. You might even want to speed creep a little past that.

In short:
-wish > stealth rock and protect > softboiled on Chansey
-stealth rock > ice shard / head smash on Donphan
-Blissey > Chansey
-Calm - 116 HP / 252 Def / 140 SDef on Chansey
-Calm Mind Latias > Latios
-252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe on Skarmory

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Def / 92 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Roar

Hey Mamo.Pert, this is a unique team. I like the synergy you have going between the members, the only poke I see out of place is Skarmory.

It's spiking up but isn't backed by a spinblocker and doesn't provided the solid fighting resist you need to have a chance against powerhouses like Lucario and Mienshao. A solid fighting resist that fits in Skarmory's slot well IMO is a bulkyGyara with Taunt / Waterfall / T-Wave / Dragon Tail and a spread of 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD. This lets you take on those fighters extremely well and benefits a lot from Chansey's ability to take Electric attacks easily and Donphan's spinning ability. It is also about as good of a switch-in to sun-boosted Darmanitan as you can get when rocks are spun away.

Next, on Chansey, you can't get away with only running Wish for recovery. That gives you no guarantee that you will be able to heal without Protect to stall for the Wish healing or Softboiled to give you the 50% right away. On Chansey, it's generally better to run Softboiled because Wish+Protect is better with Leftovers- I would put Softboiled over Toxic, this team is a bit too offensive to bother itself with Toxic spreading and it only opens up a real weakness to NP Celebi, who can be checked by running Signal Beam over HP Ice on Rotom-W.

I would personally run Leftovers on Donphan, even without Life Orb it still OHKOes Gengar and 2HKOes Jellicent, plus this lets it reactivate Sturdy after switching into SR. You could also consider running Assurance over Ice Shard and bumping the speed up to 170 ish to outrun more defensive Jellicent for the 2HKO after SR, you will still have enough bulk to take a CB CC from Terrakion and get back to Sturdy via Wish.

Personally, I would run a more specially defensive Scizor, a spread like 248 HP / 96 Def / 164 SpD, so you can take an HP Fire from Celebi and surprise KO it with U-Turn. It will also help you take on Gengar and Virzion better. Whether or not you choose to invest in more SpD lower the HP EVs to 248 to reduce SR damage.

Lastly, I agree with Tomohawk's suggested set for Latios, although you could try HP Fire over Psyshock, it seems like your team has an easier time wearing down Blissey / Chansey than Ferrothorn and it shouldn't be relied on to check Virizion as your late game cleaner anyway.

Good luck!

Hey there.

First off, I suggest that you switch Donphan's EV spread to 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe. As you mentioned already, you don't use Donphan really for its bulk, as Skarmory and Chansey can take hits well anyway. This spread is very helpful since it complements your Donphan's offensive nature, allowing it to outrun the most common OU spin-blocker: Jellicent. This will essentially guarantee your Rapid Spin, as Donphan can massacre Sableye, Gengar, and now Jellicent. This spread also lets Donphan outrun slow walls such as Blissey.

Also, SubDD Gyarados can prove to be a major problem for this team. An easy way to fix this is to simply run Thunderbolt over Hidden Power Ice on Rotom-W. This way, Rotom-W won't be forced to switch out after it hits Gyarados's Substitute with Volt Switch, allowing it to devastate it in the following turn. Thunderbolt 2HKOes Dragonite anyway after Multiscale is broken, and Donphan can revenge kill it effectively with Ice Shard.

Finally, run Leftovers on Latios. This will allow Latios to restore its health without having to rely on Chansey; this is important since it reduces the pressure on Chansey and makes Latios a more reliable answer to Volt-Turn cores.

Solid team. Hope I helped, and good luck!
