You Can Stand Under My Umbrella, You Can Stand Under My Umbrella...(Doubles)

This was orignally my Showdown team, but something was always missing or something didn't quite fit well enough, so I made a few changes which leads me to the team I have presently. Just another classic Rain Dance Team. So of course every Rain Dance Team typically begins with Kingdra as usual - wait, no, let's switch it up a bit.

Electrode @ Focus Sash [Hasty]
Kabutops @ Leichi Berry [Adamant]
252 Atk / 28 SpA / 228 Spe (Static)
200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe (Swift Swim)
Rain Dance
Endure
Taunt
Flail
Thunder
Waterfall
Explosion
Protect / Rock Slide
The format of this team will be a little different since it's for doubles, but hopefully it's communicated well and won't break any RMT rules. At any rate, here comes the first combo of my Rain Dance Team. Electrode is the fastest Rain Dance summoner and fastest Taunter outside of the Deoxys line which helps me tremendously. Of course Taunt is there to shut down others trying to bring weather, hypnotize, status, etc. and Rain Dance is obviously there to get things started. Then proceed to do what Electrode was born to do, explode. At this point, you may be asking yourself, well how will I prevent the explosion from being stopped, which is where Thunder plays a part in his moveset. Thunder will at least 2HKO all waters that have the damp ability (of course except for Quagsire), thus continuing my plan.

So right now the opponent is already overwhelmed by Electrode's explosion and they think they can relax...however there are about to meet part two of this plan which goes by the name of Flail. While Electrode is exploding, Kabutops is enduring to get ready to unleash a 200 base power Flail (I need to double check with Kabutops EV spread to make sure it really does go down to 1 HP, but so far I'm confident that it does). Waterfall is there for Rock, Steel, and Ghost Types. Now again, you may be asking yourself how will I be protecting Kabutops from high priority moves, or just simply attackers that can survive a hit (which is not many esp. in doubles where the lack of walls are prominent) and take down Kabutops. Enter Togekiss:
togekiss.png

Togekiss @ Leftovers / Lum Berry
252 HP / 20 Def / 236 Spe
Serene Grace [Timid]

Follow Me
Encore
Air Slash
Protect
And in swoops my saving grace for Kabutops. Follow me has +3 priority which means I don't have to worry about Bullet Punch, Mach Punch, or other first strike moves in addition to Fake out. In this set Togekiss' speed is not overlooked allowing me to outspeed Adamant Lucario and any others slower than it. This little speed bonus is extremely helpful in regards to encore :3 Air Slash is there incase I get taunted (Which would probably not happen often since the opponent is going to be more concerned with Kabutops) or if Kabutops needs help.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that ends the first half of the team, not onto the second half, which I admit, is a little less creative or exciting, but nonetheless still effective.

Kingdra @ Lum Berry [Modest]
Toxicroak @ Life Orb [Jolly]
120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe (Swift Swim)
252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Spe (Dry Skin)
Rain Dance
Fake Out
Surf
Taunt
Ice Beam
Sucker Punch
Protect
Cross Chop
In a way, this combo is a sort of anti-lead for doubles. I either Fake Out or Taunt the opponent with Toxicroak, however, if it's obvious that the opponent is going to Taunt Kingdra, I protect with Kingdra, then Taunt the Taunter with Taunt therefore making their Taunt useless (>_< confusing I know); then proceed with Rain Dance the next turn. Taunt and Sucker Punch combo is fun and Cross Chop is for those annoying Blisseys and Snorlaxs that reside in doubles. Protect on Kingdra can also be used as an Explosion protect.

Just a little something on Toxicroak's usefulness to add: "You lose 10% of your HP with each attack due to Life Orb, but with Rain healing 12.5% you actually gain 2.5% each turn, while having the advantage of operating with a respectable Attack of 444." But hold on, there's only five Pokemon here...

Ludicolo @ Leftovers (ohai)
152 HP / 252 SpA / 104 Spe
Swift Swim [Modest]

Fake Out
Hydro Pump
Grass Knot
Ice Beam
Ludicolo is simply too good in rain to not have him on the team. Fake out messes a lot people up incase Rain Dance has worn off and I need to get it back in play again. While the other moves provide benefitial support and offense to the team.

i would put dragon pulse on kingdra over ice beam, it gets STAB and nearly perfect coverage, other wise it looks pretty solid

Actually I orginally had Dragon Pulse over Protect, but I found that Toxicroak and Ludicolo take care of other Waters better and protect has come in handy more times. If I need to get rid of a dragon, I can Ice Beam it.

I don't understand why you are so fixated on Taunt. In this case, is it just to prevent other teams from setting up Sunny Day, Trick Room, Gravity, and the like?

If your plan with Kabutops is to endure an explosion from Electrode then sweep with flail what exactly are the HP evs doing for you?
I think that you would be better off just maxing your speed to out speed deo-e and some random scarf wielding pokemon.

Yes that's the primary reason. I think part of battling in doubles is not only starting up your weather or gravity or whatever it may be, but also preventing the other's from being set up.

The HP Evs have actually been working out so far for me. I had intially forgotten that Endure does not work in sequence with Protect so I had to take out that option. So order to survive the first turn those EVs ehlp me out since Kabutops is so frail. However, I may change the speed a bit in order to outspeed deoxys-S like you said since that could be helpful.

I agree with you. And I think I've implemented that thought into my Gravity team.
However, I don't think that you need two Taunters unless you plan on using the Electrode/Kabutops and Kingdra/Toxicroak pairs as separate possible leads...

Where exactly do you plan on using this team? lol. Odd question, I know, but it would help to know.

Yes that (Kingdra / Toxicroak & Kabutops / Electrode) is what I had planned on doing which is why they are in that order. However after testing this team I found that a lot people like to fake out Electrode, so there's always a possibilty of running an Electrode / Togekiss combo as starters (in which case I would change Togekiss' Roost to Protect which I think I"ll do anyway since roost hasn't been too helpful).

I'm not sure what you mean by where do I use this team, but I think you mean in what games or instances? I use it on PBR and D/P of course and I had been using it in a Tournament that I am hosting on Nsider2. I haven't battled anyone here with this team, but I have battled others here with different teams; if that is what you are asking.
