[SET]
Okidogi @ Black Sludge
Name: Bulk Up (Poison)
Ability: Guard Dog
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Substitute / Taunt
[SET COMMENTS]
With its incredible natural bulk and invaluable secondary Fighting typing, Okidogi serves as an incredible Bulk Up sweeper for Poison teams, enabling them to have a fighting chance against the likes of Dark and Steel. Drain Punch is used to provide Okidogi with long-term sustain and check the likes of Bisharp and Hisuian Goodra comfortably. Knock Off threatens Ghost- and Psychic-types like Gholdengo, Hisuian Zoroark, and Galarian Slowking along with removing crucial held items like Skarmory's Rocky Helmet and Toxapex's Black Sludge. Finally, Okidogi has two valuable utility options, with Substitute being the preferred one, as it can be used against foes Okidogi forces out like Hisuian Goodra and Blissey. This lets Okidogi scout incoming switches from the likes of Latios and Hisuian Zoroark along with helping deny Scald burns from Alomomola, Salt Cure from Garganacl, and Thunder Wave from Gholdengo and Archaludon. Alternatively, Taunt can be used to exploit the likes of Skarmory and Toxapex, turning otherwise infuriating checks into setup fodder.
Alolan Muk is a vital teammate, with its Dark typing helping it threaten Psychic- and Ghost-types that cause significant headaches for Okidogi like Deoxys-S, Hatterene, and Spectrier along with letting it answer special attackers that would devastate Okidogi such as Psychic Noise Primarina and Psychic Volcarona. Assault Vest Galarian Slowking can help wear down the likes of Zapdos, Latios, and Pelipper with its strong movepool; it can also use Future Sight to help pressure Poison-type walls such as Toxapex and Pecharunt, which can effortlessly handle Okidogi otherwise. Amoonguss acts as a comfortable check to the likes of Ogerpon-W, Urshifu-R, and Great Tusk along with being able to use Spore to give Okidogi free turns to set up with Bulk Up. Galarian Weezing can use Defog to clear entry hazards and use Will-O-Wisp to weaken physical attackers such as Hippowdon and Ogerpon-C, enabling Okidogi to come in on greatly weakened attacks and easily set up. Iron Moth serves as a fantastic offensive complement to Okidogi, as it can easily remove the likes of Gholdengo and Excadrill with its STAB Flamethrower as well as Pelipper and Great Tusk with its strong coverage in Discharge and Energy Ball, eliminating key problems for Okidogi. Okidogi, in return, is able to pressure special walls like Hisuian Goodra and Ting-Lu with Drain Punch. Pecharunt can provide a strong blanket physical check to the likes of Ogerpon-H and Iron Hands along with being able to pivot Okidogi in with Parting Shot. Alternatively, Nasty Plot Pecharunt can help wear down problematic checks like Gliscor and Galarian Weezing. Salazzle and Glimmora can provide Corrosion Toxic support to wear down opposing walls such as Corviknight, Toxapex, and Pecharunt, greatly limiting their ability to check Okidogi. Salazzle and Glimmora can also provide further support, as Salazzle can use Flamethrower to pressure Gholdengo and Encore to lock foes like Bisharp and Lokix into Sucker Punch, enabling Okidogi to enter the field safely and remove them with Drain Punch for recovery. Glimmora, meanwhile, can use Stealth Rock and Power Gem to pressure Flying-types like Tornadus-T and Dragonite, greatly limiting their ability to come in on Okidogi.

Ice Punch can be run over Substitute or Taunt, enabling Okidogi to handle Landorus formes on a predicted switch along with helping handle Gliscor and Clodsire, which can otherwise be annoying for it to take on with just Knock Off. However, this comes at the cost of extremely valuable utility, preventing Okidogi from shutting down attempts to stop it with the likes of Haze Toxapex with Taunt or avoid status from the likes of Archaludon or Moltres coming in with Substitute. Toxic Chain can be used over Guard Dog to enable Okidogi to put pressure onto otherwise infuriating walls like Sableye, Great Tusk, and Hippowdon, which can otherwise handle Okidogi with ease. However, it removes Okidogi's ability to beat Skarmory while maintaining a Substitute and avoid phazing from Dragon Tail Gyarados when running Taunt sets.
