[Z-A OU] Mega Darkrai

Darkrai-Mega @ Darkranite
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 192 HP / 252 Atk / 64 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Drain Punch / Poison Jab

Although Mega Darkrai has the third-highest Special Attack in the metagame, it is highly feared for its Swords Dance sets. Swords Dance offers better consistency at shattering defensive cores such as the popular Heatran + Rotom-Wash + Garchomp core, thanks to the ridiculous power of its +2 Knock Off. Sucker Punch, meanwhile, lets Mega Darkrai dispatch revenge killers such as Excadrill, Zeraora, and Mega Garchomp Z. Drain Punch allows it to take on Dark-resistant foes such as Tyranitar and Krookodile while additionally giving it a stronger matchup against Mega Heatran and Mega Golisopod. Poison Jab alternatively punishes Clefable after it's lured in. Mega Darkrai can have very flexible EV spreads, but simpler spreads will just outrun threats, such as 64 Speed outrunning Adamant Tyranitar. Partners such as Ceruledge and Melmetal enjoy the company of Mega Darkrai to weaken Garchomp and Heatran so they can better harass checks such as Magearna and Clefable. Partners like Greninja and Clefable are also valued for being able to overwhelm shared checks in Magearna, Mega Floette, and Mega Scizor.

Done. Also is there a resource regarding the usage of commas sunny? Those have always tripped me up.

Yep! I’ll paste some notes that we give our new amcheckers below. For a more in-depth version, look at the commas section of this post.
Hope this helps!
  • Commas before 'and' 'but' 'or' are only needed if the clause that comes after it is independent (meaning it’s a grammatically correct sentence without depending on the other part to make sense). If it isn’t independent, the comma is not needed.
  • Commas before 'while' are needed when it means 'whereas' / is showing contrast. If 'while' is used to mean 'at the same time as' (while also / while (verb)ing) then a comma isn't needed.
    • A phrase like 'while also' 'while still' 'while simultaneously' cannot show contrast because the definition of those words is along the lines of 'at the same time as'. Therefore, you do not use a comma before those phrases
    • The phrase 'while also [verb]ing' (so 'while being/while allowing/while preventing' etc etc) also cannot show contrast because the phrase in practice means 'while also being', which doesn't show contrast as explained in the point above.
  • Commas should be used before ‘as’ and ‘since’ if they mean because; the word ‘because’ itself does not need this.
  • Commas should always be used before ‘which’ clauses.
  • Commas should not be used before ‘so’ if it means ‘so that’.
  • Smogon uses the serial / Oxford comma, meaning a comma before ‘and’ in a list of three or more.
  • Commas should be used to set apart introductory and parenthetical phrases; the latter should be set apart with a pair of commas.
