Zamazenta @ Aggronite
Ability: Dauntless Shield
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
Have you ever wished your Zamazenta-C was just like, slightly different? Aggronite Zamazenta keeps the coveted Fighting / Steel typing while boasting higher Defense, gains an ability that’s useful after the first switch in (while still benefiting from Dauntless Shield), and retains its coveted base 138 Speed tier, outpacing Metagrossite Urshifu-R by a single point. Aggronite patches up that pesky -ate Speed weakness, making it significantly harder for Altarianite Entei and Pinsirite Dragonite to revenge kill Zamazenta. IronPress can munch through weakened teams, Crunch beats Lunala and pretends to damage Pecharunt, and Stone Edge clips Ho-Oh. Zamazenta can be revenge killed by faster or Fighting-resistant special attackers like Eternatus and Spectrier, making specially bulky teammates such as Ho-Oh and Magearna excellent options; Magearna can also switch into the dreaded Will-O-Wisp Arceus-Ghost. Zamazenta is helpless against non-Gyaradosite Pecharunt, so teammates that can reliably beat it like Kingambit are appreciated. Zamazenta lacks any form of recovery and relies on its bulk to set up and clean, so teammates that can clear entry hazards like Pinsirite Great Tusk are strongly recommended.
