Choice Band Galar-Zapdos provides decent pivoting as well as a powerful attack making it a highly offensive utility in NatDex OU. Close Combat, one of the most powerful fighting type attacks, allows Galar Zapdos to OHKO many bulky offensive Steel, Dark and Ice types like Melmetal, Heatran, Mega-Tyranitar, Kyurem, and even bulky Blissey. It also allows to 2HKO highly defensive Mega-Aggron. Brave Bird, being a powerful flying attack checks for the majority of Fighting, Bug, and Grass-type pokemons, allowing it to OHKO Rillaboom, Volcarona, Buzzwole, and Mega-Venusaur. U-turn allows Galar Zapdos to escape from threats without letting its team lose pace. Stomping Tantrum checks for Poison types like Salazzle and Gengar KO-ing both of them in a single hit. Blaze kick checks for the Grass and Steel type pokemons destroying Scizor and Ferrothorn in one hit. Jolly Nature is best for unleashing this Galar Bird's power, giving it a higher attack and a relatively higher speed stat which outspeeds Kyurem.
Being on the offensive side with decent pivoting and unique Fighting/Flying typing gives it immunity against Ground-type moves and resistance against the Bug, Dark, Fighting, and Grass types. Unfortunately, it is vulnerable to Electric, Ice, Psychic, Fairy, and Flying moves. So, The must-have pokemon with Galar-Zapdos is Heatran as Heatran resists almost every move which is super-effective against Galar-Zapdos. Also, Heatran ensures no damage from Toxic or Burn on switching. Bulky Umbreon or Mandibuzz also goes well with Galar-Zapdos with their immunity towards Psychic attacks. Mandibuzz is more preferable as it can also be used for defogging hazards. Ground-types or Zeraora are a perfect check for electric-type moves, as Zeraora soaks all the electric damage thanks to its Volt Absorb Ability and it also checks for the flying types. Fairy-type pokemons like Clefable and Tapu Lele benefits the most from Choice Band Galar-Zapdos as it can easily take down Steel-types with Close Combat and Poison-types with Stomping Tantrum allowing them to Set up using Calm Mind and Sweep.
