I wanted to build a team around Zard-Y because this thing is fucking powerful, and I think that sand offence pairs well with him, mostly because Tyranitar is able to pursuit trap the latiwins and Excadrill has rapid spin which is very important in order to keep Charizard healty
Anyway, here's a preview of the team. Please forgive me if my english is bad but it isn't my language.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost
Basic Charizard Y set. Modest Nature in order to get more fire power, Fire Blast for STAB, Solar Beam for water types and Focus Blast is mainly for those brave Heatrans that try to stop a Fire Blast.
Roost is for recovery.
Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower
Tyrannitar is my pursuit trapper, and also sets up sand. I choose Choice Scarf because I wanted more speed on my team, but I can change the set because I'm not that sure about it. He is helpful also because he checks Talonflame. The moves are just standard Tyranitar
Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
Excadrill with sand up is a fucking beast. Late game, with sand up, can pretty much destroy everything. The moves are pretty standard, Rapid Spin > Sword Dance because i need to have a clean field.
Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Recover
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
Latios acts as a defogger, because Excadrill cannot use rapid spin that often. He is also my only Serperior check, which is pretty scary to face for this team. This is another standard moveset.
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Toxic
Hyppowdon main role here is to absorb physical hits and he also acts as a second sand and stealth rock setter. Earthquake and Slack Off are mandatory on every Hippo, but I'm not really that sure about Toxic. Other options are Whirlwind and Stone Edge.
Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 HP / 0 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 SpD
- Thunder Wave
- Nasty Plot
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Thunderbolt
I needed another wincon and some speed control, so i decided to add Thundurus. He hits hard, he hits fast and he spams Thunder Wave. I mean, he is perfect.
I managed to get past 1600 in the ladder, but this team has many flaws. I hate to face Mega Lopunny and Medicham and in general I'm not very solid defensively so i struggle with Hyper Offence teams.
I think that's all, feel free to change whatever you want.
