Zeraora, a new mythical event Pokemon, surges Electric teams in viability, giving them an electrifying breath of life in Monotype. Zeraora has become the premier physical attacker on Electric-type teams, able to take on Pokemon such as Chansey and Kyurem-B, which teammates struggle with. It also improves Electric's previously bad matchup against Normal, as it can 2HKO all Normal-type Pokemon in Electric Terrain with Plasma Fists and Close Combat. Due to Zeraora's phenomenal Speed stat, it is able to naturally outspeed and OHKO Choice Scarf users such as Tapu Bulu, an otherwise huge threat that falls to Iron Tail after Stealth Rock. It can also use Knock Off to cripple threats such as Gliscor, removing its item before it has been poisoned by its Toxic Orb. Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu are good teammates for Zeraora as the former sets Electric Terrain and takes on Dragon-types with Dazzling Gleam, while the latter acts as a special setup sweeper and can break through physical walls such as Mega Venusaur for Zeraora.
