Charizard @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Blaze
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Scorching Sands
- Will-O-Wisp
Charizard burns ZU to the ground thanks to its fiery coverage! STAB Hurricane blows away most of the metagame and is complemented by Flamethrower melting down Steel-types like Orthworm and Magneton. Scorching Sands covers Rock-types like Regirock and Rhydon, and potential burns can leave them weakened. Will-O-Wisp punishes special walls like Snorlax and Dudunsparce. Tera Ground powers up Scorching Sands and gives Charizard a coveted Rock resistance and Electric immunity to turn the tides against Lycanroc and Jolteon, respectively. Charizard is threatened by Regirock and Snorlax, so it pairs well with Palossand and Hisuian Decidueye, both of which benefit from the burns Charizard spreads and its ability to turn Whimsicott and Dipplin to ash. Charizard risks being put out by revenge killers such as Jolteon and Floatzel, so it appreciates bulky partners such as Snorlax and Lanturn to manage them. As Charizard struggles to break Lanturn, Cramorant, and Porygon2 on its own, it is grateful for backup from Virizion, Magneton, and Passimian, respectively.
