SV: fish anemometer vs asa | fish is my boy but with him carrying the sv slots in the builder and having to prep for tuthur in open, i can see him using a team that isn't as up to par as asa might have. asa is a really solid player with support from super actives (estra, Mj) so they'll have a good team ready to go.
SV: DripLegend vs Fragments | fish is a nice guy so he will give Drip the better team for the week. Drip played well last week even with bringing a mid team and playing an ok early game. Fragments is a good player but he's in like 4,000 tournaments rn so i dont think he'll prioritize this.
SS: Yovan vs 5gen | 5gen will win in the easiest game of his life. but seriously, even though he haxed toto, he's been looking really good here these last 2 weeks and i suspect he'll keep it up. Yovan is in SPL and his team has reused teams in this slot both weeks and idt that will change. 37% chance 5gen plays with an open team sheet.
SM: btboy vs MZ | MZ has beaten arguably the other top 2 players in the pool so far. he looks unstoppable.
ORAS: Drud vs estra | estra has tryhard energy and plays well, but drud has twitt..
BW: Alice Kazumi vs skrimps | i know im gonna get called a glazer, but have you seen this dude play lately? the plays, the techs? he's on a roll. Alice is very good at any gen in any tier but i dont think they're gonna be prepared enough for this mu.
DPP: a fruitshop owner vs Plague | even if he's not building with twitt/drud support, he's still brought solid teams and seems super comfortable in this tier. Plague will have a solid team to compete but skrimps is likely too busy to help support this slot hard.
ADV: Melninja vs Baoba | i didnt know much about the adv players coming into this tournament but this guy is a demon and might go 5-0 like BP predicted.
GSC: SANKE CARP vs Aurist | my lawyer advised me against explaining my thoughts on this mu any further. jokes aside, sanke is undoubtedly a solid player with less exploitable tendencies than Aurist has shown in his builds.
RBY: torkonpeter vs YBW | torkon is a beast, he just wins in rby zu. his understanding of the current meta seems very high while YBW has struggled to get their footing.

Venomous Vigilantes (3) vs (7) Moonshine Musharnas
SV: BaitWiz vs TomatoZause | zause has looked good lately except for that weird team he brought last week. i assume he will go with something more standard this time around and is very much wanting to lay the beat down on baitwiz. i think bait can win but he has a lot of pressure here to enhance his current record and put his talk to the test against zause.
SV: Baddy vs big tony 2014 | i really like baddy's play, the dude just seems to win. but i like the support group behind big tony to help him get a solid team to put him in a good position to win this mu.
SS: Pokeslice vs diegoyuhhi | diego has been on a roll lately across the board. he's brought some cool stuff lately and has been playing smart. i think this is as close to a 50/50 as any match this week because slice is very good, but i think diego will knowledge check him in some way here (or just bring sun and win, why has no one sunned??).
SM: DugZa vs Sputnik | i dont really care that he's 0-2, he will surely not bring the same 5 mons to a third week right? sputnik hasnt been playing his best but i hope he kicks it up a notch and gives this solid opponent a fight.
ORAS: OranBerryBlissey10 vs neomon | obb is home and will pick back up nicely im sure. they bring good teams and play well. neomon hasnt played oras afaik and his teams have been looking just ok with no drafted support (mixed frog was kinda cool though).
BW: yo cho vs Dusk | Dusk has a lot more experience in this tier, makes good plays, and wins a lot (when not haxed). yo cho is a good player overall who seems to have finally found some support (btboy) so this could really go either way but going with the more seasoned bw zu player.
DPP: jhm5 vs BeatsBlack | beatspl. he's a really solid dpp player in any generation and it translates here well. i also have never heard of jhm5 (sorry dude i know we play on the same RBEL team) so i just dont see them getting the win with their little support while beats is likely getting some outside help with testing.
ADV: plznostep vs THE_CHUNGLER | musharna's adv has been struggling, but i trust the chungler to help them out a lot as a player with JoaF support rather than vice versa. he had a really solid showing in adv slam. plznostep seems less motivated in zu as a whole so im not sure how much effort they will put here over other tours they're in rn
GSC: DiannieRatson vs Gallinova | both teams have been struggling in this slot. i give the edge to gallinova since they have some solid gsc support whereas diannie doesn't really
RBY: SaDiSTiCNarwhal vs NotVeryCake | this is more of a gut thing as sad was a member of blaze and is still kicking butt in this iteration of OL without torkon (he literally won a set from the toilet seat)

SV: BaitWiz vs TomatoZause- "Peaked in UMPL" (as Flampoke would say) vs the skibidi Sigma Gamer. Can only go one way

SS: Pokeslice vs diegoyuhhi- Slice is hungry for the best SS ZU player title after his recent, devasting loss to Diego for the title in the 2024 ZU award while Diego must defend his crown. The stakes couldn't be higher...

ORAS: sleid vs 5Dots

SS: Toto vs Danny - Danny back in SS is a highlight. This just might be a battle of who recycles the better team. Jokes aside, this matchup is close on paper. Toto brought big Regigigas last week and won, which pushes him to top of the SS pool in my eyes. Meanwhile, the Simi Spectacles spiced things up week one with Kadabra and it failed to make an impact, and then Ninja brought a standard Cuno/Miltank/Tangela team and lost to Diego's setup spam. I think that the past two weeks of SS can be flushed for the Simi Spectacles now that Danny is in. He's self-sufficient and has lots of experience in SS. Toto fits that description too, and I think he'll have more time to put into prep compared to Danny who's in SPL. I favor Toto slightly here.
SM: sugar ovens vs SBPC - Both players are 1-1 and I've liked what they brought so far. Last week, sugar ovens went with an interesting Normal spam team with Grimer-A support, and SBPC also changed his team structure somewhat compared to week 1. sugar ovens' game last week came down to the wire with the Purugly end-game. What stuck out to me was how btboy was able to catch sugar ovens' Golem with Hidden Power Water (assuming it was Water) on turn 11. It stuck out to me because looking at btboy's team, he needs a way to catch Golem. Golem had Protect anyway so HP Water could've been scouted. I know I'm reading into this interacting closely, but I think it's relevant here because SBPC has shown he likes non-standard sets or picks. So, this game comes down to prep for me. Another close game and I give the slight edge to SBPC.
ORAS: sleid vs 5Dots - sleid has looked really good so far, better than I expected to be honest. sleid's teams and play have been solid. Moreover, sleid's team picks have been varied so far, which makes prep more difficult. Meanwhile, 5dots brought an old ho3n team last week and lost a close one to neomon. I rate sleid's in-game play higher than 5dots', hence bolding sleid. However, 5dots can always cook something up to catch sleid. I tend to think sleid has some exploitable tendencies, but he's been winning and did beat us week one.


Venomous Vigilantes (0) vs (0) Moonshine Musharnas
SS: Pokeslice vs diegoyuhhi - 2-0 diego looking like he activated olympiad mode. For dego, eek one was dominant and week two looked seamless after he crit Tangela with +2 Multi Attack (still surprised that OHKO'd after SR). Pokeslice has looked good so far as well, though he could've played the end-game better vs me last week. I'm somewhat surprised slice hasn't brought sun yet, though I think bringing sun will have to wait another week because diego should prep well for it. diego is the favorite here.
SM: DugZa vs Sputnik - Off name value, this shouldn't be that close imo. However, dugza is 0-2 and Sputnik bounced back last week with a solid win over SBPC. While I noted that dugza is 0-2, he still looked good in his games and SM ZU can be tough on matchups. Also, both losses have been close, especially last week where we needed to pull U-Turn off Sleep Talk and MZ did. In terms of teams, I like what both players have brought so far. Dugza reused last week and Sputnik brought a cool Marowak team. Sputnik also looked improved in-game from week one. I think if Baitwiz and the Vigilantes' SM can help Dugza make a solid build, he should be favored. I wouldn't be surprised if Sputnik pulls an upset though.
ORAS: OranBerryBlissey10 vs neomon - Highlight of the week for me. neomon has looked good so far and he's a really solid pilot. neomon had a nice upset vs 5dots last week, and I also liked the team choice. However, OBB is a top ORAS ZU player and builder. I like OBB here, though I think anything can happen in ORAS ZU because covering the meta can be pretty tough at times. In other words, it wouldn't surprise me if neomon pulls an upset.
