[SET COMMENTS]
Volbeat stands out among many viable Choice Band users thanks to its access to Swarm, excellent base Speed, and workable bulk. Moreover, due to an overall lack of Bug-resistant Pokemon, Volbeat cements itself as an excellent wallbreaker and late-game cleaner. Signal Beam allows Volbeat to 2HKO stallbreaker Mightyena and 3HKO defensive Mightyena at -1 Attack. With Swarm active, Volbeat has a chance to OHKO a majority of non-Bug-resistant foes, such as Seaking, Anorith, and Flaaffy. Brick Break threatens both Rhyhorn and Onix, which take on non-Swarm Signal Beam. Quick Attack provides Volbeat with a valuable form of speed control, allowing it to revenge kill common pinch Berry users such as Abra, Beedrill, and Quilava. Double-Edge provides Volbeat with a nice midground for bulky Poison-types such as Koffing and Ariados, which otherwise come in for free. Alternatively, Trick can be used to disrupt and cripple physical walls like Gloom and Corsola, as well as special wallbreakers like Flaaffy, Seaking, and Clamperl.

Volbeat fits best on balanced and bulky offensive teams that struggle to reliably remove Salac Berry users like Anorith and Beedrill. Strong physical attackers such as Aipom, Doduo, and Ponyta can overload Volbeat's defensive checks such as Tropius, Ariados, and Koffing. Conversely, Volbeat can neuter these defensive checks with Trick, allowing the aforementioned physical attackers more consistency when wallbreaking. Doduo and Ponyta are exceptionally good at this because of their Flying- and Fire-type STAB attacks. Moreover, both have access to Quick Attack, allowing them to revenge kill for each other, as well as significantly reducing the potency of Salac Berry sweepers. Physically defensive Pokemon such as Onix, Koffing, and Corsola can wall physical attackers that Volbeat cannot OHKO without Swarm active, such as Aipom, Castform, and Seaking. Onix is worth a special mention, as its access to Explosion allows it to soften or remove bulkier foes and provide momentum, which can help open up a late-game scenario where Volbeat can clean. Volbeat is incredibly vulnerable to status, so Pokemon with Heal Bell, such as Mightyena, Flaaffy, and Delcatty, make for good teammates. Volbeat struggles with physical walls and priority users, so Pokemon like Gloom and Onix can help remedy this.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Volbeat can opt for a special attacking set thanks to its access to Tail Glow and excellent coverage options. However, due to its abysmal Special Attack and mediocre bulk, it finds little opportunity to set up. Moonlight and Thunder Wave can be used to shift Volbeat's role into one of support, but it is generally outclassed in this regard by Gloom. Baton Pass is an option on Choice Band sets to maintain momentum, but this requires dropping valuable coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Poison-types**: Poison-types such as Koffing, Ariados, Dustox, and Gloom can all wall Volbeat. However, Gloom and Dustox must be wary of Trick, as it prevents them from utilizing Moonlight effectively. If crippled with Trick, Koffing loses its only longevity in leftovers as well as its ability to use Explosion freely, while Ariados loses its flexibility as a mixed attacker. However, both Koffing and Ariados are able to 2HKO Volbeat with Choice Band Sludge Bomb.

**Status**: Volbeat's reliance on its Speed and access to Swarm means Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, and Thunder Wave completely neuter it. For this reason, Volbeat cannot risk switching into Porygon, Flaaffy, or Mightyena.

**Faster Attackers**: Ponyta, Voltorb, and Abra can outspeed and threaten Volbeat if it's already been damaged. However, all are threatened by a Quick Attack.

**Physical Walls**: Onix, Rhyhorn, and Tropius completely wall Volbeat, and they greatly benefit by obtaining a Choice Band via Trick. Corsola can also wall Volbeat and use it to set up, but it becomes entirely useless if it obtains Volbeat's Choice Band.

Volbeat stands out amongst many viable Choice Band users thanks to its access to Swarm, excellent base Speed, and mediocre bulk (i would say "decent" or "workable" bulk or something to this effect since you are mentioning this as a stand out feature and mediocre basically means it has not very good bulk). Moreover, due to an overall lack of Bug-type resists, Volbeat cements itself as an excellent wallbreaker and late game cleaner. Signal Beam allows Volbeat to 2HKO stallbreaker Mightyena and 3HKO defensive Mightyena at -1 Attack. With Swarm active, Volbeat has a chance to OHKO a majority of non Bug-type resists, such as Seaking, Anorith, and Flaaffy. Brick Break threatens both Rhyhorn and Onix, which resist Signal Beam. Quick Attack provides Volbeat with a valuable form of Speed control, allowing it to revenge kill common pinch Berry users such as Abra, Beedrill, and Quilava. rock types like rhyhorn, onix, and cors. also tropius since it's the hardest wall for it to get past.

Brick Break threatens both Rhyhorn and Onix, which resist take on non-Swarm Signal Beam. Feel free to reword; it'd be better to say Brick Break is a more immediate option. Neither resist Signal Beam and with Swarm, Signal Beam does out damage Brick Break. That said, Brick Break can 2hko and 3hko Rhyhorn and Onix respectively which non-Swarm Signal Beam fails to do. Alternatively, Trick can be used to disrupt and cripple physical walls like Gloom and Corsola, as well as special wall breakers like Flaaffy, Abra Seaking, and Clamperl. Small change, but better reflects a mon you'd be more likely to Trick, in this case, Tricking a Rain Dance Seaking

Strong physical attackers such as Aipom, Doduo, and Ponyta can overload Volbeat's defensive checks such as Tropius, Ariados, and Koffing. Koffing and Ariados, on the other hand, don't mind being given a Choice Band and 2HKO Volbeat with Sludge Bomb. While it affects them less than the other two due to innately higher physical attack, I would still note that it hampers them in some regard; Koffing loses its only longevity in Leftovers and ability to boom freely while Ariados loses its flexibility as a mixed attacker.

**Status**: Volbeat's reliance on its Speed and access Swarm means Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, and Thunder Wave completely neuter it. For this reason, Volbeat cannot risk switching into Porygon, Flaaffy, or Mightyena.

**Faster Attackers**: Ponyta, Voltorb, and Abra can outspeed and threaten to OHKO Volbeat if its already been damaged. However, all are threatened by a Quick Attack. Unsure how to phrase it, but the damage vs Abra is significant -- it does 83% minimum, KO'ing after Abra Subs once.

**Physical Walls**: Onix, Rhyhorn, and Tropius completely wall Volbeat, and greatly benefit by obtaining a Choice Band via Trick. Corsola can also wall Volbeat and use it to set up, but it becomes entirely useless if it obtains Volbeat's Choice Band.
