UU Zygarde-10% [QC 3/3] [GP 2/2]

:ss/Zygarde-10%:

[OVERVIEW]

Zygarde-10% is a unique wallbreaker and late-game cleaner in UU due to its exceptional Speed tier allowing it to outspeed Pokemon like Terrakion and Lycanroc-D and giving it a great matchup against fast-paced teams. Thousand Arrows sets it apart from other Ground-types, as it can OHKO Pokemon that other Ground-types like Mamoswine struggle to break through like Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Thousand Arrows is also spammable in Grassy Terrain and against Flying-types, and the only UU Pokemon that resist it are Tapu Bulu and Tangrowth. Zygarde-10% is one of the only viable Extreme Speed users, allowing it to revenge kill weakened setup sweepers such as Gyarados and faster Pokemon like Zeraora. Zygarde-10% unfortunately has paper-thin defenses, meaning it cannot switch into virtually anything without taking big damage or being OHKOed. It even takes substantial damage from resisted attacks like Victini's Blue Flare and V-create as well as Nihilego's Meteor Beam. Zygarde-10% also needs chip damage to OHKO many common threats like Scizor, and failing to OHKO them causes it to get slammed back. Faster Pokemon such as Zeraora and Alakazam will also threaten to KO it after minimal chip. While Thousand Arrows provides great overall coverage, Zygarde-10% lacks reliable moves to overcome Grass-types like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu, which can regain lost HP via Regenerator or Grassy Terrain, although Tapu Bulu must be wary of the possible Iron Tail.

[SET COMMENTS]

Thousand Arrows is unresisted by almost the entire tier and OHKOes typically bulky Pokemon like Rotom-W, Rotom-H, Nidoqueen, and Tentacruel. It also smacks down Celesteela and Skarmory to KO them on the following turn. Extreme Speed is essential for hitting Zeraora and Alakazam as well as Choice Scarf users like Zarude. It can also be used to hit setup sweepers like Gyarados and clean weakened teams up late-game. Outrage will OHKO major threats like Salamence and Kommo-o. Scale Shot is an option over Outrage so that Zygarde-10% is not locked into a Dragon-type move for 2-3 turns. However, it is less reliable, as it can miss and can potentially hit only two times for much lower damage. The Speed boost can help Zygarde-10% clean late-game, but Dragon-resistant Pokemon would need to be substantially chipped or removed first. Toxic can be used to punish Zygarde-10%'s most reliable switch-ins, such as bulky Grass-type Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Tangrowth, as well as physicially defensive Pokemon like Quagsire. Iron Tail is also an option to OHKO Tapu Bulu after minimal chip damage. It can also OHKO Alolan Ninetales and 2HKO Grimmsnarl after it sets up Reflect. Toxic is generally more reliable, as it is more accurate and can be used against more foes. Jolly is the required nature, as Adamant will render Zygarde-10% slower than many major threats like Keldeo and Terrakion.

Zygarde-10% fits best on offensive or balanced teams. Since Zygarde-10% is too frail to ever reliably switch in, it can only realistically be used as an initial wallbreaker, revenge killer, or late-game cleaner. Slow, bulky pivots like Chansey and Slowking can use Teleport to help get Zygarde-10% in safely to revenge kill Pokemon like Terrakion and Rotom-W attempting to switch in. An entry hazard setter like Skarmory or Mew can help weaken the enemy team to enable a Thousand Arrows or Outrage sweep. Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu give Zygarde-10% the most problems, so it will need a teammate that can comfortably switch into both like Amoongus. Skarmory can also switch into them, although it has to be careful of Sleep Powder from Tangrowth. Victini and Kyurem can help remove Tangrowth, Tapu Bulu, and, using coverage, Quagsire. Nihilego is also an option to handle Grass-types, and it can set up Stealth Rock as well. Rotom-H can help check Mamoswine, one of Zygarde-10%'s biggest threats, pressure Grass-types like Tangrowth, and use Volt Switch to bring in Zygarde-10% safely. Since Zygarde-10% pressures Nidoqueen, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H significantly, Pokemon that struggle with them like Zeraora, Celesteela, and Azumarill are good teammates. Victini and Scizor are good teammates that can lure these Pokemon in and pivot to Zygarde-10%.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

=============

Dragon Dance can be used with Life Orb to allow Zygarde-10% to sweep. However, Zygarde-10% will rarely get an opportunity to set up and will still struggle against Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu. Gyarados typically outclasses this set, as it is bulkier, deals more damage, has better coverage, and can snowball with Moxie. Zygarde-10% is fast enough to run a Coil set to bolster its offensive presence and allow it to hit just as hard as Choice Band, but without locking it into one move. This will also raise its Defense to allow it to withstand an extra hit and increase its accuracy to more reliably use moves like Iron Tail. Zygarde-10% will only realistically get an opportunity to set up against something it forces out, and it will still struggle against Tangrowth even after multiple boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Tangrowth totally walls Zygarde-10%, which can only use Toxic against it. Tapu Bulu has to be wary of Iron Tail but takes minimal damage from Thousand Arrows, is immune to Outrage, and can OHKO Zygarde-10%. Amoonguss is immune to Toxic and takes little damage from Thousand Arrows, forcing Zygarde-10% to lock itself into Outrage to 2HKO it. This leaves Zygarde-10% open to Spore or a switch to any Dragon-resistant Pokemon.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon like Alakazam and Zeraora can OHKO Zygarde-10% with their coverage moves. Choice Scarf users like Zarude can also OHKO it with strong STAB attacks like Power Whip. Choice Scarf Krookodile will also do major damage with Earthquake or Knock Off, and it easily withstands a hit after Intimidate.

**Priority Users**: Any Pokemon with Ice Shard, most notably Mamoswine and Cloyster, will easily OHKO Zygarde-10%. Additionally, Choice Band Scizor and Life Orb Bisharp resist Exteme Speed and will KO Zygarde-10% after minimal chip with priority attacks. Other priority users like Conkeldurr and Crawdaunt significantly reduce Zygarde-10%'s ability to stay in play.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Quagsire can shrug off Thousand Arrows and inflict Toxic back. Zygarde-10%'s only chance of breaking through them is to hit them with two Outrage attacks, which leaves Zygarde-10% vulnerable to a Fairy-type switch-in.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-type Pokemon like Azumarill, Primarina, and Hatterene can freely switch in while Zygarde-10% is locked into a Dragon-type move and KO it. Additionally, while they do not handle Thousand Arrows well, they will not be KOed by it, and Primarina and Hatterene can recover lost HP with Draining Kiss.

[OVERVIEW]

- Zygarde-10% is a unique breaker and late game cleaner in UU due to its exceptional Speed (what does it outspeed?) and access to Thousand Arrows and Extreme Speed.
- Thousand Arrows sets it apart from all other Ground-types, as it can OHKO Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H that other Ground-types like Mamoswine struggle to break through.
- Thousand Arrows is also spammable in Grassy Terrain and against Flying-types, allowing Zygarde-10% to use it at full power and virtually unresisted against everything in the tier except Tapu Bulu and Tangrowth.
- Zygarde-10% is one of the only viable Extreme Speed users, allowing it to revenge kill set up sweepers once sufficiently chipped. (what setup sweepers? also mention faster mons like chipped zeraora)
- Unfortunately, Zygarde-10% has a terrible defensive typing, and will easily be OHKO'd by any Ice attack, including Ice Shard from Mamoswine. (add some more examples of ice type move users too. expand on typing to mention some other threats it's weak to due to other weaknesses too)
- Zygarde-10% also has paper thin defenses, meaning it cannot switch into virtually anything without taking big damage or being OHKO'd. (mention some resisted hits it struggles to take such as victini's attacks)
- Despite its good Speed tier givng it a favorable matchup agaisnt most revenge killers, anything faster than Zygarde-10%, such as Zeraora or Alakazam, will also OHKO it with coverage moves like Play Rough and Dazzling Gleam.
- add how limited coverage means it struggles to punish its 2 main checks in tang/bulu (outside of iron tail) especially bc they have regen/terrain recovery

Paragraph 1
- Thousand Arrows is unresisted by almost the entire tier, and is a guaranteed OHKO on typically bulky Pokemon like Rotom-W, Rotom-H, Nidoqueen, and Tentacruel. It also smacks down Celesteela and Skarmory to KO them on the following turn. (can also add the terrain thing here too)
- Extreme Speed is essential for hitting Zeraora and Alakazam, as well as Choice Scarf users like Zarude. It can also be used in an emergency situation to hit set up sweepers like Gyarados.
- Outrage is Zygarde-10%'s most powerful STAB move and will OHKO major threats like Latias and Kommo-o.
- Scale Shot is an option over Outrage so that Zygarde-10% is not locked into a Dragon-type move for 2-3 turns. However, it is less reliable as it can miss and can potentially hit only two times for much lower power. (you can also mention the speed boosts here and how it could help zyg clean late game)
- Toxic can be used to hit bulky Grass-type Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Tangrowth, as well as Physically Defensive Pokemon like Quagsire. (can also say that it punishes zyg's most reliable switchins)
- Iron Tail is also an option to OHKO Tapu Bulu after minimal chip damage. It can also be used to OHKO Alolan Ninetales and Grimmsnarl before they set up screens (grimm has prankster so it just reflects before you and then you don't kill). Toxic is generally more reliable, as it is more accurate and can be used against more foes.
- Jolly is the required nature, as Adamant will render Zygarde-10% slower than many major threats like Keldeo, Latias, and Terrakion, all of which will OHKO it.

Paragraph 2
- add what kinds of teams zyg fits on
- Since Zygarde-10% is too frail to ever reliably switch in, it can only realistically be used as an initial breaker, revenge killer, or late game cleaner.
- Zygarde-10% has to OHKO its foes to be effective. As such, a hazard setter like Skarmory or Mew can help weaken the enemy team to put them within range of a Thousand Arrows or Outrage sweep.
- Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu give Zygarde-10% the most problems, and it will need a teammate like Amoonguss that can comfortably switch into both of these. Skarmory can also switch in to both of these, although it has to be careful with Sleep Powder.
- Since Zygarde-10% helps pressure Nidoqueen, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H significantly, Pokemon like Celesteela and Skarmory that struggle with these are good teammates that appreciate Zygarde-10%'s presence. Additionally, Victini and Scizor are good teammates that can lure these Pokemon in and pivot out to Zygarde-10% safely.
- Slow, bulky pivots like Chansey and Slowking can use Teleport to help get Zygarde-10% in safely to revenge KO Pokemon like Terrakion or Rotom-W that may have tried switching in on these.

all your examples in this para are really bulky fat mons and something like zyg could be awkward on those kind of teams because it offers 0 defensive utility and using other breakers that do have defensive utility are generally a better fit

- Zygarde-10% is fast enough to run a Coil set to bolster its offensive presence and allow it to hit just as hard as a Choice Band set, but without locking into one move. This will also toughen up its Defense to allow to withstand an extra hit, and increase Accuracy to allow it to more reliably use moves like Iron Tail. However, Zygarde will only realistically get an opportunity to set up against something it forces out, and it will still struggle against Tangrowth even after multiple boosts.
- A Coil set with Skitter Smack and Substitute with Leftovers can help Zygarde attempt to bolster its Defense while weakening its foe's Special Attack, potentially boosting itself significantly enough to conduct a full sweep of a team even with Tangrowth. While this may seem great in theory, in practice it will be difficult to manage and will take multiple Coils and Skitter Smacks to begin making Substitutes that can withstand more than one hit.
- Dragon Dance can also be used with a Life Orb to sweep. However, as with the Coil set, Zygarde will rarely get an opportunity to set up, and will still struggle against Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Tangrowth essentially totally walls Zygarde-10%, as all it can do is use Toxic against it. Tapu Bulu also takes minimal damage from Thousand Arrows and is immune to Outrage and can OHKO Zygarde-10% with Horn Leech but must be wary of Iron Tail. Amoonguss also takes little damage from all of Zygarde-10%'s attack and cannot be inflicted with Toxic.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon like Alakazam and Zeraora can OHKO Zygarde-10% with coverage moves. Choice Scarf users like Zarude can also OHKO it with strong STAB attacks like Power Whip. Scarf Krookodile will also do major damage with Earthquake or Knock Off, and easily withstand a hit after Intimidate.

**Ice Shard**: Any Pokemon with Ice Shard, most notably Mamoswine and Cloyster, will easily OHKO Zygarde-10%. Zygarde-10%'s only chance is to use Extreme Speed on these Pokemon after they have been severely weakened.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Defensive Pokemon like Chansey (chansey isn't really a physdef wall) and Quagsire can shake off a Choice Band Thousand Arrows and inflict Toxic back on it. Zygarde-10%'s only chance of breaking through these is to hit them at full force with two Outrage attacks, which unfortunately puts Zygarde-10% vulnerable to a Fairy-type switch.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-type Pokemon like Azumarill, Primarina, and Hatterene can freely switch in while Zygarde-10% is locked into a Dragon-type move and proceed to KO Zygarde-10% with a super effective attack. Additionally, while they do not handle a Choice Banded Thousand Arrows well, they will not be KO'd by it and can OHKO Zygarde-10% back after being hit.

I don't really see the point of this line because its typing is fine, the issue is it having no bulk to take advantage of it
- Zygarde-10% also has paper thin defenses, meaning it cannot switch into virtually anything without taking big damage or being OHKO'd. This includes switching into a resisted hit, as it still takes substantial damage from a Blue Flare or V-Create by Victini or a Meteor Beam from Nihilego.

- While Thousand Arrows provide great overall coverage, Zygarde-10% lacks reliable coverage to overcome most Grass-types like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu, both of which can regain lost HP via Grassy Terrain or Regenerator. Swap these around to match the order you brought them up. You have Iron Tail slashed so at least make a comment that bulu has to be careful about that here

- Slow, bulky pivots like Chansey and Slowking can use Teleport to help get Zygarde-10% in safely to revenge KO Pokemon like Terrakion or Rotom-W that may have tried switching in on these.

I would rather you brought these points about pivots straight after your comment on it being frail.

**Ice Shard**: Any Pokemon with Ice Shard, most notably Mamoswine and Cloyster, will easily OHKO Zygarde-10%. Zygarde-10%'s only chance is to use Extreme Speed on these Pokemon after they have been severely weakened. rename this to "priority users" because zygarde can take a lot of damage from priority in general and there are users of it like bisharp/scizor that resist espeed

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Quagsire can shake off a Choice Band Thousand Arrows and inflict Toxic back on it.

Additionally, while they do not handle a Choice Banded Thousand Arrows well, they will not be KO'd by it and can OHKO Zygarde-10% back after being hit. mention hatterene and prim can just recover the lost damage if they're using draining kiss

:ss/Zygarde-10%:

[OVERVIEW]

Zygarde-10% is a unique wallbreaker and late-game(AH) cleaner in UU due to its exceptional Speed tier, by allowing it to outspeed Pokemon like Terrakion and Lycanroc-D,(RC) and giving it a great matchup against fast-paced teams. Thousand Arrows sets it apart from all other Ground-types, as it can OHKO Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H that other Ground-types like Mamoswine struggle to break through. Thousand Arrows is also spammable in Grassy Terrain and against Flying-types, allowing Zygarde-10% to use it at full power,(AC) and it virtually unresisted against everything has no resistances in the tier,(AC) except Tapu Bulu and Tangrowth. Zygarde-10% is one of the only viable Extreme Speed users, allowing it to revenge kill set up setup sweepers such as Gyarados or faster mons like Zeraora once sufficiently chipped. Zygarde-10% unfortunately has paper thin defenses, meaning it cannot switch into virtually anything without taking big damage or being OHKO'd OHKOed. This includes switching into a resisted hit, as it still takes substantial damage from a Blue Flare or V-Create by Victini or a Meteor Beam from Nihilego. Due to its average Attack stat, Zygarde-10% also needs chip damage even with a Choice Band to OHKO many common threats like Scizor, and failing to OHKO these threats causes its very poor bulk to get exposed. Despite its good Speed tier giving it a favorable matchup against most revenge killers, anything faster than Zygarde-10%, such as Zeraora or Alakazam, will also KO it with coverage and STAB moves like Play Rough and Psychic,(AC) respectively,(AC) after minimal chip. While Thousand Arrows provide provides great overall coverage, Zygarde-10% lacks reliable coverage to overcome most Grass-types like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu, both of which can regain lost HP via Regenerator or Grassy Terrain, respectively,(AC) although Tapu Bulu must be weary of the possible Iron Tail.

[SET COMMENTS]

Thousand Arrows is unresisted by almost the entire tier,(RC) and is a guaranteed OHKO on typically bulky Pokemon like Rotom-W, Rotom-H, Nidoqueen, and Tentacruel. It also smacks down Celesteela and Skarmory to KO them on the following turn. Extreme Speed is essential for hitting Zeraora and Alakazam,(RC) as well as Choice Scarf users like Zarude. It can also be used in an emergency situation to hit set up setup sweepers like Gyarados, as well as in an endgame scenario to clean if the enemy team is sufficiently chipped. Outrage is Zygarde-10%'s most powerful Dragon-type STAB move and will OHKO major threats like Salamence and Kommo-o. Scale Shot is an option over Outrage so that Zygarde-10% is not locked into a Dragon-type move for 2-3 turns. However, it is less reliable,(AC) as it can miss and can potentially hit only two times for much lower power damage. The Speed boost can help Zygarde-10% clean late-game(AH), but since it is locked into the move with a Choice Band,(AC) all of the Dragon resist foes Dragon-resistant Pokemon would need to be substantially chipped or removed first. Toxic can be used to punish Zygarde-10%'s most reliable switch-ins, such as bulky Grass-type Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Tangrowth, as well as Physically Defensive physicially defensive Pokemon like Quagsire. Iron Tail is also an option to OHKO Tapu Bulu after minimal chip damage. It can also be used to OHKO Alolan Ninetales and 2HKO Grimmsnarl after it sets up Reflect. Toxic is generally more reliable, as it is more accurate and can be used against more foes. Jolly is the required nature, as Adamant will render Zygarde-10% slower than many major threats like Keldeo and Terrakion, both of which will OHKO it.

Zygarde-10% fits best on offensive or balanced offense oriented teams. Since Zygarde-10% is too frail to ever reliably switch in, it can only realistically be used as an initial wallbreaker, revenge killer, or late-game(AH) cleaner. Slow, bulky pivots like Chansey and Slowking can use Teleport to help get Zygarde-10% in safely to revenge KO kill Pokemon like Terrakion or and Rotom-W that may have tried switching attempting to switch in on these. Zygarde-10% appreciates entry hazards support to bring foes into OHKO range to and avoid taking unnecessary damage. As such Therefore, a entry hazard setter like Skarmory or Mew can help weaken the enemy team to put them within range of a Thousand Arrows or Outrage sweep. Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu give Zygarde-10% the most problems, and it will need a teammate like Amoonguss that can comfortably switch into both of these. Skarmory can also switch in to into both of these, although it has to be careful with of Sleep Powder from Tangrowth. Victini and Kyurem can help remove Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu, and can also pressure Pokemon like Quagsire with Energy Ball or Freeze Dry. Nihilego is also an option to handle these Grass-types, and it can set up Stealth Rock as well. Rotom-H can help check Mamoswine, one of Zygarde-10%'s biggest threats, and can also help pressure Grass-types like Tangrowth,(AC) and use Volt Switch to bring in Zygarde-10% safely. Since Zygarde-10% helps pressure Nidoqueen, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H significantly, Pokemon that struggle with these like Zeraora, Celesteela,(AC) and Azumarill that struggle with these are good teammates that appreciate Zygarde-10%'s presence. Additionally, Victini and Scizor are good teammates that can lure these Pokemon in and pivot out into Zygarde-10%.

=============

Dragon Dance can be used with a Life Orb to allow Zygarde-10% to sweep. However, Zygarde-10% will rarely get an opportunity to set up,(RC) and will still struggle against Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu. Gyarados typically outclasses this set, as it is bulkier, deals more damage, has better coverage, and can snowball through against the enemy team with Moxie. Zygarde-10% is fast enough to run a Coil set to bolster its offensive presence and allow it to hit just as hard as a Choice Band set, but without locking it into one move. This will also toughen up raise its Defense to allow it to withstand an extra hit,(RC) and increase Accuracy its accuracy to allow it to more reliably use moves like Iron Tail. Zygarde-10% will only realistically get an opportunity to set up against something it forces out, and it will still struggle against Tangrowth even after multiple boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Tangrowth essentially totally walls Zygarde-10%, as all it can do is use Toxic against it. Tapu Bulu, while weary of having to be wary of Iron Tail, takes minimal damage from Thousand Arrows and ,(AC) is immune to Outrage,(AC) and can OHKO Zygarde-10%. Amoonguss cannot be inflicted with is immune to Toxic and takes little damage from Thousand Arrows, forcing Zygarde-10% to lock itself into Outrage if it hopes to 2HKO it. This leaves Zygarde-10% open to Spore or a switch out to any Dragon-resistant or Dragon-immune Pokemon.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon like Alakazam and Zeraora can OHKO Zygarde-10% with their coverage moves. Choice Scarf users like Zarude can also OHKO it with strong STAB attacks like Power Whip. Choice Scarf Krookodile will also do major damage with Earthquake or Knock Off, and it easily withstand a hit after Intimidate.

**Priority Users**: Any Pokemon with Ice Shard, most notably Mamoswine and Cloyster, will easily OHKO Zygarde-10%. Additionally, Choice Band Scizor with Choice Band and Life Orb Bisharp with Life Orb will KO Zygarde-10% after minimal chip with priority attacks, and both of these Pokemon resist Extreme Speed. Other priority users like Conkeldurr and Crawdaunt deal major damage to Zygarde-10%, significantly reducing Zygarde-10%'s ability to stay in play.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Quagsire can shake shrug off a Choice Band-boosted Thousand Arrows and inflict Toxic back on it. Zygarde-10%'s only chance of breaking through these is to hit them at full force with two Outrage attacks, which unfortunately puts leaves Zygarde-10% vulnerable to a Fairy-type switch.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-type Pokemon like Azumarill, Primarina, and Hatterene can freely switch in while Zygarde-10% is locked into a Dragon-type move and proceed to KO Zygarde-10% with a super effective attack. Additionally, while they do not handle a Choice Banded Thousand Arrows well, they will not be KO'd KOed by it and can OHKO Zygarde-10% back after being hit, and Primarina and Hatterene can recover lost HP with Draining Kiss.
