introduction

hello everyone, fx here. today im gonna tell you how to get a smogon badge, one badge at a time. this will help you become an Established and Developed User™ on the smogon university website. there are many badges so i will take my time to explain them all so your welcome. actually, if youre a ps random you may not know what badges are or how theyre significant, basically smogon badges maximize your epeen size by 10 fold and tells the users of smogon how fucking legit you are. pretty big deal man, just look at smogon owner chaos, he has so many badges and gets all of the money and ladies, who doesnt want that amirite? ok lets begin

lady bug

this lil ladybug is the foundation of all badges and basically the easiest badge to get because of it's low standards. they call it pre contributor because you can get it with a small amount of effort in a respective field such as analyses, mediocre posts in competitive discussions, being a ps driver, w/e the list goes on. as i said, this is just a stepping stone to bigger and more legit badges so stay tuned

community contributor

think of this badge as the everywhere and everything badge, cus you can get this for doing all sorts of stuff. basically, you can get this badge for being a good poster/user on the smogon forums whether that's in one forum altogether or a bunch of different forums. this is arguably one of the coolest looking badges on the site and to be holding this badge youre telling the world how developed you are. great job!

contributor

now we're getting somewhere, to have this fantastic lil teardrop you just need to excel in the contributions aspects of the site, namely the Contributions & Corrections forum. you can do stuff like a shitload of GP (grammar pose) checks, QC (qualty control) checks, or even be the guy behind writing the analyses ya feel? don't think you're good enough? haha no worries man, even mediocrity has a chance at this badge!

tiering contributor

unlike our beautiful CC, this is probably one of the worst looking badges aswell as easiest-to-get too. to get this, you just need to spend hours getting reqs on an unstable ladder which gets much more frustrating the worse you are at this game only to get to vote in the suspect tests. you need to do this FOUR TIMES before getting this badge and you actually have to throw in a little posting effort in the suspect tests themselves which, like analyse writing, rewards for mediocrity at times! TL (tier leaders) and tiering council members can also be rewarded with this just for being what they are, amazing

media contributor

the foundational incentive for working with smogon's own webzines, media contributor, which resembles a badass looking ghost thing. this badge can be rewarded with numerous contributions to the zines such as writing articles, GP, and htmling. speaking of contributions, the player is looking for active contributor 24/7 just dial 1-800-948-8488 (real number) and we'll let you be apart of the all elite team of contributors

cap contributor

this cool looking badge is what we call the cap contributor badge and only elite posters and contributors of the cap forum can be destined for this badge. is it possible for you to get it? probably not LOL. like i said you must be a powerful contributor of CAP, and no not for any of this flavor or art bs, you need to be legit with the competitive shit. ppl get nommed like once a year so tl;dr ur not getting this badge

forum moderator

think of this badge as CC but with power, forum moderators are granted their modships by being exquisite and helpful presences in their respective forums. sadly, having great power requires you to behold another fugly badge but oh well anything for power amirite ladies. in addition forum moderators can do things like infract, ip check and spam clean but fortunately for smogon university they only mod the best of the best. (haha)

social media

this beauty of an artist-wannabe is the social media badge or the badge for social media contributors. no it's not like the media badge for it deals with all things uh, social media. it can anything from doing properly-performed twitch streams or tweeting random pokemon-relevant shit on the twitter and if you can do any of these things im sure you'll be guarenteed this top notch badge 100% money back

team rater

everyones favorite fist. you get this badge by proving your superiority in the pokemon game and helping users with their mediocre teams by giving meaningful advice on how to improve it. once youve done that like 50 times then bam youre good to go with youre happy little fist in your set.

tutor

the cutest badge of them all, tutor. this heart is only rewarded to those who have recieved the best of scores through tutor evaluations FOUR times. and by tutoring i mean constantly or possibly dealing with newbie kids complaining about hax and how good they think they are at mons or teambuilding. give these people some props everyone

researcher

ah yes the researcher, along with community contributer, this is the most elite looking badge of all time. this is deserved only by those willing to put in hours of research whether that's gathering gen 2 battle mechanics or making a list of where all of the mega stones are. these people are seriously top notch and without them we would not be playing pogeymons online, thanks :)

programmer

like researcher (not aesthetically ofc) this badge requires skills and effort to actually get. the few people who have gotten this badge have gotten it through probably thousands of line of code in either smogon or ps shit which lets be honest that aint ez. but damn atleast the work they put in actually is worthwhile amirite ladies, no passes for mediocrity here

sim mod

hahaha sim mod, where do you even start here? theres numerous ways to get the moderator position on pokemon showdown website, like through big contributions on both the sim and the smogon site, coding, or just plain stroking it up. now im not saying every mod has or will do the latter, some people just got in cus theyre good at what they do. but others? lets be honest here, you and i both know those people exist. uptop

artist

last but certainly not least is arguably the cutest (next to tutor) badge, the artist badge. only fuking elite people who got the skills of picasso over here can achieve this badge. no ms paint, no bullshit. this badge requires top notch artist contributions in both QUANTITY and QUALITY. (sorry mambo xd) i myself have this badge and lemme tell you it aint no ez ride.
