Mew is the screens setter of choice because it has a positive matchup against Prankster dual screens Corviknight and is able to almost always set Spikes, though you can use U-turn instead of Spikes if you prefer pivoting; don't sack Mew unnecessarily, as it can often set screens multiple times in one battle. Substitute Zamazenta-C is here to take advantage of common defensive cores featuring Scream Tail and Intimidate Corviknight; alternatively, it is reasonable to run a spread with max Attack and Stone Edge instead if you fear Skeledirge and want more significant damage against Scream Tail. The original version of this team had Enamorus in the next slot, but Enamorus-T is a fine replacement after the former's ban. Its bulk makes up for the loss in Speed, and the Sheer Force-boosted attacks can at worst 2HKO every common switch-in. Volcarona capitalizes on special walls being weakened by Enamorus-T and can even sometimes score unboosted, easy KOs with Modest Life Orb-boosted Fire Blast--otherwise, Quiver Dance away! Garchomp and Chien-Pao thoroughly weaken any physically defensive foes obstructing Zamazenta-C from finishing the job. |
