Offensive teams are still plenty good in SV OU, and the usual suspects are right back at the top after multiple post-DLC suspects have ended. Roaring Moon received a gift from the Teal Mask in Knock Off, which turns it into one of the more dangerous Pokemon to switch into and, alongside Brick Break for Kingambit and Acrobatics + Tera Flying, makes it a threat to win at any moment. Kingambit is up to its usual shenanigans, powering through supposed checks with Black Glasses-boosted Sucker Punch and Kowtow Cleave. Tera Flying allows Kingambit to turn the tables on Pokemon that rely on Ground and Fighting coverage to check it. Iron Valiant has seen many sets come and go so far this generation; on this team, it takes on more of a utility role, preventing setup with Encore while trading with dangerous threats like Manaphy and Kingambit with Destiny Bond. Nasty Plot Gholdengo gives the team an excellent way to punish Sneasler, which is otherwise very difficult to deal with; Tera Fairy + Dazzling Gleam gives Gholdengo the chops to take on Dark-types like Tera Dark Kingambit and even Roaring Moon. Booster Energy Sandy Shocks is the fastest Pokemon with both Spikes and Stealth Rock. It is an excellent lead, as it can also bluff Tera Blast Ice against Gliscor leads. Finally, the tried-and-true Dragonite is last, running its familiar Tera Normal Extreme Speed set. Earthquake and Fire Punch cover the tier's Steel-types while providing excellent neutral coverage. |
