Well, nothing surprising here at all really. Mienfoo is top dog as expected with misdreavus, boss in the special department right behind him. Chinchou's gone up, and EVERYONE seems to be using bulky sets (it's over-rated imo).

Porygon's gone up a fair bit, coming in to wall the likes of rising chinchou and nearly all special attackers as well as stopping the also rising murkrow with a physically bulky set.

But:

Get out. Now. Ok, maybe shroomish isn't that bad but 21% usage? There's definetely more stuff that needs to come here. Also, Natu is on pretty high usage, seems like people have discovered a little late that it completely mocks the now very popular ferroseed and hippopotas.

First off, congrats to everyone for tripling our number of battles from last month, that's really something and shows that we are indeed picking up some steam again after losing quite a bit the last few months.

Honestly the most interesting thing to me is Staryu above Chinchou in the 1200 stats. Personally, I prefer Chinchou a lot due to its diversity (although I do understand that Staryu can run Life Orb and a wealth of different moves) and due to its fact of checking other Staryu. However, you can see the effects of tons of Staryu everywhere; only one Pokemon in the top 10 sets up hazards and Ferroseed is all the way down at 17. While LC is a balanced metagame, many teams have been gravitating away from hazards as cores that are typically broken by hazards (such as Larvesta + Chinchou) are apparently packing Staryu at the astonishing rate of 40% of the time. Misdreavus is also a bit higher than anticipated, but it's definitely got its niche as the special sweeper / sponge that can handle Mienfoo, and often times doesn't mind losing its item as much as something like Croagunk.

Finally, I think there is one point that really illustrates the fact that we have a balanced metagame: three of the most "arguably broken" Pokemon's usage. Murkrow is all the way down at #8, Drilbur at #16, and Scraggy at #13 in the 1200 stats. This means a lot; especially since something like Bronzor is at number 7 and Porygon is only 6th: it would be tough to argue that Drilbur or Murkrow respectively is overcentralizing due to these Pokemon being really some of the only solid counters present in the top 10 to these Pokes. Mienfoo is slightly more applicable, as it really arose in defensive variants to check Scraggy, but it didn't fall with Scraggy usage, implying it has a fantastic offensive and defensive niche on most teams.The point is, Mienfoo is much more common than Scraggy ever was; to say Mienfoo has arisen and stayed up top solely to check Scraggy is to overestimate Scraggy.

Breathe, the metagame is balanced... for now.

Pineco above Shelmet is admittedly pretty appalling; Shelmet is the much better mon when it comes to defending as it has access to Acid Armor and reliable recovery; the only really important advantage Pineco has is Rapid Spin, but without recovery it hardly even gets to use it.

pain split abuses the second while pineco does have a respectable attack stat, not much in terms of STAB attacks though. Calling it set up fodder isnt saying much though, bronzor, ferroseed and other defensive mons come under the same category, pineco hits significantly harder than the first two.

anyways, booth bronzor and ferro are walled by natu, outright walled. I could list some more examples but i probably dont need to. P.s Pineco also gets earthquake, except it does damage unlike bronzors coming off 8 attack. And pineco has better recovery than booth of them, anyways, lets move on from the subject of pineco. And pineco also gets HP ice and, yet again, it still hits harder than bronzors. Oddly enough pineco gets giga drain :/ althouh rather useless it still does the job on tirtouga/omanyte.

Pineco also has terrible typing. I'm not sure where your argument of "Natu walling Bronzor and Ferro" comes in because Pineco gets raped by Natu's STAB HP Flying, which is its most common attack. If you want a Bug-type to set up hazards, you might as well use Shelmet cause it can Recover and walls most physical attackers, including Scraggy.
