I have been lurking on the forums for a while, looking at different people teams and how they used them.I heard of vgc and decided to try out.I first had to look up what vgc was and found out it was double battles. So being stupid i went on pokemon showdown made a team of pokemon i liked and lost badly. After a large amounts of beatings i decided to look up more about vgc and present my very own decent team.I call it *1st For Royal*.

First look at Royalty

Here are each pokemon and their place on the team

*King* (Tyranitar) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Sand Stream
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Protect
- Low Kick
-Rock Slide

Tyranitar(King) is one of the last pokemon i added to my team. After facing a chandelure i know it would come in handy. It takes out chandelure easily .I ran a pretty standard EV set nothing out of the normal.Oh and of sand stream helps control weather teams (Rain).I really don't want to replace tyranitar with all the help it has brought to my team.I added 0 speed ivs so i can play in trick room without being at a huge disadvantage.

*Queen* (Cresselia) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 200 SAtk / 4 SDef / 52 Spd
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Icy Wind
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Swagger

I ran more of a offensive Cresselia.Wtih all of the dragons running around i put in Icy Wind.Icy wind wont kill the dragon, but it would made them way slower for my other pokemon to outspeed and kill.I also have Hidden Power [Fire] for scizor, metagross, and steel type in general.I have Psychic for hitmontops and other fighting types. So on Cress i took out Helping Hand for a more helpful move called Swagger. With the addition of Metagross maybe Swagger becomes a huge help in letting Metagross get the attack boost and sweep. Also it helps me find away to win when i feel like i am trapped because once they hit their self it can just change the tide of the game in an instance.

*Prince* (Hitmontop) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out
- Detect

Yes everyone i run Technician Top.With the increase of Intimidate Top no one expect Technician. It helps to have a fairly strong fake out, that can severly hurt frail pokemon. Also Fake out into and Mach punch can take out some pokemon pretty easily.Sucker punch is for latios and ghost types.Who try to hurt my team. Also by now you have noticed my hitmontop has max speed.I really just threw max speed on there and it is working pretty nicely.I am able to outspeed a lot of pokemon. The Life Orb attack boost is also nice to have.Hitmontop is a pokemon i don't want to replace it.It works great with Porygon-z i just Fake out and Tri Attack, and then into a Mach Punch or Sucker punch, with Tri Attack.

*Chibi* (Metagross) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Ice Punch
- Protect

I am really thinking about adding Metagross it gets the job done when i needed to.I don't run Bullet Punch because i needed the extra coverage,so i ran Ice Punch instead.I run Meteor Mash ,but sometimes that miss can be annoying ,but its something i am going to have to live with.Zen Headbutt is a good way to kill all the fighting type Pokemons in VGC and it has STAB.Protect is just Protect it helps me plan out my attacks, and get rid of threats at specific times.

*Princess* (Rotom-Mow) @ Yache Berry
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Protect

I am really happy i added this to my team.Volcarona was good in taking out pokemon with the TopMoth Combo ,but it just added to my Rain Team weakness. With the addition of Rotom-Mow Rain Teams have been a piece of cake.I alot of pokemon carry Ice Beam that is why i have Yache Berry and maxed out my EVs in SDef and HP.Electric attacks do almost nothing and Water attacks do some damage.Thunderbolt is when i want to hit those Water types without losing special attack.Leaf Storm is when i want to kill the Water types in an instance but, also so i don't get stopped by ground types.I am using Hidden Power [Fire] because i noticed my team needed something to be able to hit steel types for super effective damage. My favorite of all is Protect so i can play around my opponents.

*Beast* (Gyarados) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 84 SDef / 172 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Ice fang
- Taunt
- Protect

Gyrados is a great pokemon on my team.Waterfall is for some STAB damage.Taunt is for trick room, spore users, and setup sweepers.Body Slam is great for some damage and paralyze support.Protect is keep myself away from those thunderbolt users until they are dead.I run a Jolly nature with 172 Spd is because with this set i can outspeed and Taunt Breloom before it can use Spore.I put rest in SDef because it give me like a 60% chance to live a Dragon Gem boosted Draco Meteor from Latios
Team Threats
Sleep abusers-Sleep abuser annoy me to death.I used to use Gyarados taunt to stop them but, Breloom just ran right past him,and i need Ice Fang for coverage for him anyway. They really annoy my team to death with only killing them to take them out.
Pokemon I May Add

Past Members

*Chibi* (Scizor) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Protect
- Acrobatics

I sadly had to replace Porygon-Z he was one of my favorite pokemon ,but he couldn't just make the kills all the way.Now about Scizor.Scizor solves a lot of the problem this team has.The power of a steel gem Bullet Punch is really strong and after that i can fire of a extremely strong Acrobatics.Bug bite is for those dumb Cress(I realize some carry Hidden Power [Fire]),who try to get on my nerves.Swords Dance is a pretty nice boost that lets me kill a lot of pokemon Scizor normally couldn't kill.Might also use Protect their becuase it will benefit times i need Scizor protected.

I'm certainly no expert, but it seems to me that even with Tyranitar there to counter opposing weathers, you are somewhat weak to rain teams. Tyranitar and Volcarona both fall easily to Surf/Muddy Water/Hydro Pump/Scald, and most rain teams will have a Thunder abuser which can decimate Gyarados. To counter rain more effectively, you might want to try giving Gastrodon or a grass type like Breloom a look. I'm not experienced enough to say which team member of yours should be replaced to make room for it, though.

i was thinking of that when i faced a rain team.Gave me a lot of trouble i think i should take out ttar for breloom but i should test it out because ttar gives some weather control and gets rid of chandelure, Ty for the rate though:)

Just really quick, you should run an Adamant Nature on Hitmontop to get more power, with an EV spread of 240 HP/252 Atk/12 Spe (that last one is a speed creep, he will be faster by common 4 Spe Adamant Hitmontops by one stat point).

try virizion over top / pory-z. it serves as a great rain counter. also, some of your spreads are inefficient. for example, 236 hp on top and 236 spdef on gyara give the same stat point. you can add the rest into another stat. you might also want a bulkier spread to use calm mind on cress.

Saw the nicknames and remembered battling you so I gotta chip in:)

Offensive Cress is pretty inferior to a defensive one (I tried it) because, as I've learned, a helping hand-boosted spread move (such as rock slide on Tyranitar) will deal more total damage than a Rock Slide+ *insert Cresselia attack here* most of the time, even with SE damage (and potential surprise value), plus you miss out on all the other nice stuffs Cress brings to the table (especially when you consider that Light Screen would give you an easier time with Rain teams).

With Trick/Scarf on Porygon-Z, it's a decent disabling technique, but unless that thing is running spread moves (the only one I can think of is maybe Discharge, which doesn't get STAB) being Scarf-locked really sucks sometimes if you can't immediately Trick. It also only nails one foe, and loses all surprise value if they Protect.

And with Quiver Dance on Volcarona: It is a powerful force when set up, but without Rage Powder/Follow Me or other support, you might lose Volcarona before it does you any good. In fact, you can even run Rage Powder on Volcarona itself w/ a Sash and sacrifice it if you reaaaally need your other poke to live through it's next move.

Instead of porygon z, use porygon2 with eviolite, much more bulkier and decent special attack.
I really don't want to use porygon2 slower than a lot of pokemon and may be bulkier but, it speed really doesn't fit in with my team

Ty for the rate and thanks for the help on the ev spreads. If i really don't want to replace porygon or hitmontop they really help with the offense on part of my team.Through i really understand why i should add virizion or a grass type but, i really don't know which pokemon i should replace

Adding Rage power to volcarona might come and handy or adding follow me or rage powder to help it set up would help but, just by using fake out is enough to let it set up.It really does suck being locked into a attack but, trick does come in handy just look at the battle i posted it locked the opponents sableye into confuse ray also i rarely use ice beam and thundebolt because i am normally spamming tri attack, and it does a ton of damage to my opponents.Trick helps in some situations and tri attack is good enough for me.

You should have faster pokemon, a terrakion is a big threat for your team, use an eviolite pokemon for your team anyways like rhydon

I might try replacing top because it has poor synergy with virizion

lolno, gyarados, hitmontop and cress all say hi :P

Knuckstrike

Hi I'm FIREEEE
is a Tiering Contributor
I wouldn't add focus sash breloom as it seems pretty useless with tyranitar on your team. It might get you a spore in, but it'd die at the end of the turn anyway.

I don't usually rate, I promised that I would after battling you, so here I am.

Terracott combo will be a big threat because terrakion will ko everything on your team
Overall, I don't think this could be any further from the truth. While Terrakion can OHKO all of your Pokes after a 4 hit Beat Up and outspeeds your team, all of your Pokes can cripple or downright KO it while it tries to set up, and Hitmontop and Scizor also have SE priority, anyways.

Overall, the idea of adding Breloom is interesting and could really save you against rain teams. IMO, the best candidates to replace with Breloom are Scizor/Top, since Breloom also has access to a Mach Punch that, with Technician, is as powerful as Scizor's Bullet Punch and could fill the priority attacker role filled by either. Ultimately, you'd be sacrificing Scizor's resistances and coverage against Psychics and Latios or Hitmontop's utility in Fake Out for the ability to incapacitate something for most, if not all, of the match and better options against rain teams.

ty for the rate.I really like breloom ,but i don't think i need to add it now i have been beating rain teams left and right with the addition of rotom-m so i will just stick with that right now for my rain team counter could change if i feel like breloom could do a better job though.

I'm not sure is you're still carrying Swords Dance on Scizor, but if you are I'd switch to Protect for added security. Also, even though it's minor, Detect on Hitmontop has less PP than protect would. Breloom sounds interesting, but he has a speed problem which allows him to get outsped by a lot of rain pokes and Ice Beamed.

durant is a pokemon you can cosider with hustle or zweilous. but trick room is a threat your team is too fast to be in trick room and too slow to be in non trick room. Also, add amoonguss to your threat list with its bulk and acess to spore.
